@DroidDev yep - that's is the problem of Dwarf Fortress. The greatest strategy game that will be ever made, with an UI straight from the '70....

build a good looking UI plugin and you will become god amongst gamers

@SPArchaeologist UI is the one big thing these days in every software for every platform. If your application lacks in UI engagement, then you can kiss goodbye to the hardwork you have put in for developing functionality.

@DroidDev was it an EA$ ps4 title, I could agree. But since it is a game only fans know... I belive they don't care.

@DroidDev Dwarf Fortress is a strategy game that instead of using hp points for units tracks damage to single organs. That means that you can kill a dragon one hit if you manage to take out the heart. It also means that if the generator creates an eldritch abomination that doesn't have organs.... you are doomed.

good luck trying to make it fall in a lava lake. Unless it is also made of obsidian, in which case I hope you have a way to cause a cave-in and bury it forever.

@DroidDev I switched to pc games for a while. Then I got totally bored of @°#!&%&£s on broken installers, incompatibility, missing drivers, crashes and such and returned to the console world

only game I really followed on pc in the last years was oblivion - to over-mod it. That was before the tes nexus showed to be a totally unreliable site by getting itself hacked - multiple times...

@SPArchaeologist naaa, for me, best pc games are the ones, which come with everything pre-installed, you just copy the files and get on with it.

Well, the nfs and call of duty modern warfare setups that I have are both pre-installed packages

@DroidDev good for you. Most games in retail today come bundled with drm malwares.. Securom, starforce and such

@SPArchaeologist I bought GTA IV somedays ago, when it was launched. It requires its DVD, internet connection, an account on Microsoft's website, perhaps another account on Xbox's website and a whole hour just to install it

then, if you mistakenly try to play it, it will always require its DVD to be inside your PC's DVD player, just to start it.

Then microsoft allows you to play a game, in which everything is authentic

I un-installed the game that evening.

@DroidDev I ordered Spore. I saw the drm policy they where implementing. I burinated the order.

@SPArchaeologist just because of these events, I just switched to torrented versions of everything. Its the best.

They give everything after breaking every single useless restriction, you just copy the thing into your computer and shoot it

I have the strong belief that drms only bite paying users. First thing an hacked copy of a game would do is remove the crappy activation/online check

so I switched to my old console world, where a game just work... no incompatibility, no need to switch graphic card every month.

yep, but if I put the Zelda disk in the wiiU it works. Same does the Disgaea one in the PS3

@DroidDev - anyway, about the games above. To give you a general idea... Ni no kuni got "famous" because it included a full color, hard-printed , rigid cover, 250+ pages book as an additional game manual. All the book was drawn to look like a magic book - and the artwork was from Studio-Ghibli.
