I wanted to reject before it gets in hands of robots, though, so I didn't want to translate first.

@JanDvorak all good, reason isn't that important :)

good to hear :-)
I was wondering if I should report myself for having used the wrong rejection reason :-)

lol
Ask to get banned!

> Review completed just now:
I love getting this message in the CVQ

It always does that :-)

1:08 PM
Audits are always off-filter? One more reason to filter, then :-)

Not always but somehow more c++ questions are audits than for example c#

Q: Audits bug in the filtered review queue

mehowJust recently the audits have been introduced to filtered review queues. I've got an audit this morning which seems to be out of scope for my filtered list. I have filtered my list to only review VBA and Excel-VBA tags while the audit is tagged with perl http pipes which have nothing in common ...

> **My injection script on chrome extensions is not working**

> The script is completely correct, but when I'm going to test it, it just doesn't work. Even scripts I downloaded from Google samples do not work.
A question in its entirety :-0
@ShadowWizard I didn't even look at the tags; all I saw was "should this be closed as unclear?"
in the next split second, I was opening the question in a new tab

We're getting rusty, 5 minutes and only my close vote

Q: open call log on click and return with number on click on the log list

donison24x7i have an Activity A and button b1 on it. i want to open call log by clicking on b1 and after selecting a number on the log list, return to Activity A with the selected number.

Couldn't get my flag on it

1:16 PM
@rene why not?

closed by Bill The Lizard

Oh, true! Need one more downvote so I can vote to delete

gone

What is gone?

1:41 PM
Easy meta rep, lol

Yeah, from me :-)
I was on the same route...

Must be the age, @rene... few years still matter! :D

I guess so :-)

By the way you said before "gone", what did you mean?

Due to my age I couldn't flag and couldn't downvote that question because it was gone

1:47 PM
@rene this one? It's still in there.

What?

Closed and needing one more delete vote

I guess I meant my coffee was gone which led to serious caffiene deficit

This farm will turn me Derpy. Any muffin left, @SuhosinPony?

@SPArchaeologist I had muffins yesterday
I think this API will turn me Derpy :/
"Can we get a response time under 200ms?"
"Not with a ping of 240..."

1:53 PM
Are the two of you on the same steam-boat?

@rene Don't know. I can only see a plaque with "Please don't feed the hamsters" written on it
ok - B plan. Headphone and the whole Alice Madness Returns ost. It should avoid me going insane. Or at least give me some style advices for it.

@rene SharePoint do this to people.

I can't code without di.fm any more

Yeah, don't get me started @ShadowWizard

I guess I could just throw the MLP soundtrack on random/repeat
and code with Pinkie Pie screaming at me

2:05 PM
hey everyone !

@SuhosinPony it wouldn't go well with my current mind state. I could go with the classic Domine Kira, or One Winged Angel.

Feature request: stop people from asking questions on Meta during my office hours, that would take me too long to answer.

This site is currently in read-only mode because @Bart is at work

Seems fair enough, doesn't it? And it would only be for an hour or so each day. :)

2:09 PM
lol

memo to future self: SharePoint cewp are not built for copy/paste operations from word documents. Kill whoever says otherwise.
also, be diffident of clients who seem to spend half their budged on hamster food.

were there not just yesterday only 2k close votes? How come its back to 13k?

it dropped to 0 this morning and now the questiosn with 3 votes are in the queue

@Vader next batch

@Vader Spring is coming, nature awakens and so do flaggers.

2:23 PM
ohk

Syntax error: missing "Dark" before keyword "Vader"

@ShadowWizard :P

ok, that does it. See ya son, I must go to the cafeteria and buy that muffin before SP turns me mad. -More- mad.

2:41 PM
@SPArchaeologist wait... Vader is your son?! :-P

@ShadowWizard "I am your father, Vader. Also Luke... I am not your Grandpa because we all know you were adopted".

Luke is a bot, and soon the whole world will know it! <evil grin>

@ShadowWizard Star Wars Cantina already teach us that Yoda was a muppet... so I 'm not impressed

3:04 PM
Man. I turn my back for one day, and you guys clear the close vote queue without me.
That's...awesome.

Yeah, more than 100k over a weekend. We worked hard. There was nothing special that happened to the queue at all .... at all ....

Not really, @Bart... maybe 10k or 20k but surely not 100k
@jadarnel27 it's not empty now ;)

sssssst @ShadowWizard

I participated in clearing some of the 4 vote questions on Friday / Saturday. I just expected there to still be a few left on Monday.
@Shadow Heh, I am already in the queue, working on the 3 vote questions =)

3:08 PM
Votes and flags, yep :)

I've seen this user use that custom close reason at least twice recently, when it seems like "unclear" would work just fine.
I don't think it's bad, necessarily. But it seems like an abuse of the custom option to just write whatever you want, when there are close reasons that fit.

@jadarnel27 feel free to reply to him in a comment, that's what comments are for and I think he is a reasonable person

Seems that user is particularly fond of custom comments @jadarnel27

@Shadow I was bringing it up in here first. I don't want to impose my personal closing preferences on the dude. But if there's a good reason to not do what he's doing...
@Bart Ha, I noticed that too! Quite verbose. Reminds me of...me.

@jadarnel27 Oh god no. Anything but that!

3:17 PM
@jadarnel27 judging from the name, he's from Israel or at least born in Israel. Just saying. ;-)

nuff said :p

Anyway, if you got something to say to someone don't think you need approval from us - unless of course it's something extreme :)
Let us know how it goes though, now I'm curious to see how he'll respond

hi, i thought I'd just quickly jump in with a question about meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/38413/… : is there consensus that keeping a language tag is a good thing[tm] when the question has zero relevance to the language itself?

@mabi maybe for the code highlight sometimes

That's based on tags? Must have missed that.

3:19 PM
It's not something I would edit out @mabi

For example sometimes I add to classic ASP questions to make the code have proper colors

Thanks for the feedback, @Shadow. I think I will dialog with him a bit. We can always constructively bring it to Meta if we cant agree.
To see what the community thinks.

But there's no definite rule about this, @mabi

@Bart it's just that I had done it a few times (as a byproduct of a larger edit) and got f'up edits by other users adding the tag back in

@ShadowWizard No, you don't do that

3:21 PM
@rene if you mean adding vbscript, why not? Classic ASP is written with VBScript. (usually)

I was actually convinced by this question: meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/36695/… where Bill suggested exclusions as a solution, but there's still so much noise in there it's really, really hard to figure out pure language questions.

Wouldn't you just add a <!-- language: lang-vbs -->

@rene most of the times yes, but sometimes there are many code blocks spread in many answers
And most of the times, classic ASP questions involve VBScript syntax so it's relevant tag anyway.

Hmmmm...

Agree to disagree again? Third time ice cream, you know! :D

3:26 PM
@ShadowWizard i want my share! And yeah, i'll just let it be, then. Seems to be an uphill battle anyway.

@ShadowWizard the tag wiki saved you this time... :-)

@mabi first rene and me have to agree to disagree on one more thing ;)
@rene that's a relief! :D

Okay, let's try: Black licorice is awesome - agree or disagree?

Agree

Vehemently disagree.

3:31 PM
@Bart Black licorice Unicorns are awesome - agree or disagree?
fixed

Agree.

@Bart disagree, it's not tasty

Okay, now please agree to disagree you both, so we can have icecream

@SPArchaeologist no stealing my ice cream! Nobody dislikes unicorns.

3:32 PM
@ShadowWizard made Sweetie Belle sad.

@Bart no, it must be between the same two people
lol

Sure, and rene said he liked it

Oh my, you're right
Hmm...

there is Kaito here that says he want his ice cream back. You can keep Miku's leek.

There is no ice cream shop open yet

3:34 PM
Ice cream for all!

yay!

/me licks monitor

No ice cream for this guy though!

A: Can Stack Overflow change the password criteria?

WGroleauMake a two-column table: two-char language codes against a very common word in that language. Randomly pick a row from that table. Ask Google or other search engine "Show me pages in language _ containing word _" Randomly pick one of the the fifth through ___ hits. Randomly pick a word from that ...

3:50 PM
@SuhosinPony Just noticed that Shadow reply was addressed to Bart, so no need to get sad.

4:10 PM
@ManishBot What's the bad keyword there? Login?

"Here is"

We really hate people giving us stuff
or "knowledge"
(self-answered questions on christianity.se should be fine)

4:49 PM
delicious

Hi @GnomeSlice

@SPArchaeologist Hi there. =]

uff have to go - see you later. @SuhosinPony - as usual, do not cross the wood past night

I see now that Adi Inbar is still fighting the removal of "minimal understanding" and "no valid code" close reasons (@Shadow and @Bart).
Based on his response to my comment on that question.

Going to war against "thanks in advance," @apaul?

@jadarnel27 I know its low hanging fruit, but its an easy way to find other glaring issues.

@apaul34208 like its/it's?

@apaul Ah, I see. I didn't notice before that the search query was filtered by a specific user as well.

@JanDvorak Exactly like that... minitech had me using "it is" for a while, I finally gave up

6:36 PM
@JanD Seems like it would be tough to write a search to accurately tell if someone was using the wrong one (note that I do see that you were just sarcastically correcting apaul).

@jadarnel27 I started out with a general search for "thx in advance" and found a surprising number from the same user on the first page of results, upon further inspection there seemed to be a lot of issues with the users posts that needed some work

@jadarnel27 looking forward to that Meta post.

7:01 PM
Me too, @Bart.

I can't believe I actually answered a question on SO..

8:39 PM
Why do banned users keep insisting they only have this one deleted question when they have a lot?
That's such a pointless thing to do.

They assume nobody sees them?

Because "I shouldn't be banned, it's a bug" is easier to argue than "Let me post more bad questions"

Some people also actually forget.

and what rene pointed out

Well @AnnaLear, forgetting 11 self-deleted questions? 1 or 2, fair enough.

8:43 PM
@Bart shrug I'm just sayin'.
It happens.

Myeah ah well. It just has come to a point where with every banned user I go "Let's wait for a mod to tell the actual story".

9:08 PM
Personality tests
Most annoying tests to take
No unexpected results and then you're supposed to write a page about.. nothing new

That's why I stopped having a personality a long time ago.

I don't think my teachers will accept that

@ManishBot Highlight the things that trigger the regexes.

9:34 PM
@michaelb958 Apparently that one triggered on "here is".

... why @hichris123?

@Bart Ask @ManishEarth.

:)

in Charcoal HQ on The Stack Exchange Network Chat, 12 mins ago, by ManishEarth
@Seth there was some useless spam with those keywords in the past

@Bart because he struck you as a real careful, conscientious, detail-oriented person otherwise, right?

9:38 PM
Want me to answer that @Shog9?

Not really. BTW: deleted questions don't have as much influence on bans as most folks think they do.
Closed, massively-downvoted deleted questions OTOH...

Okay. There was just not a lot visible in this particular case.

Doesn't necessarily take much, if what is visible isn't all that great either.
OTOH, a couple of up-votes on a "not visibly awful" account will usually put them back in the black.
So, y'know, if you ever feel inclined to help someone... You probably can.

Who says I didn't? ;)

I know the truth

9:44 PM
Uhoh

You're like that crack dealer who, upon finding the destitute addict struggling to get clean, offers him a "loan"...

@Bart No, flagging them does not count as help.

But, but, they're all nice and colourful @hichris123. Surely that brings some cheer to those who I flag?

@Bart Well sure... to the mods, yes. However, us mortals don't get to see the colorful flags... so we don't get joy out of flags on our accounts.

Surely you get to see those nice blue chat flags? Or don't you see those if they are against your own posts?

9:49 PM
I'm not 10k anywhere... :( I think I can see the blue thingy if it's on my own post, though...

Anyhow, this crack dealer is calling it a day. Time to count my money and then some sheep.

A few months ago, we rolled out a new top bar for all of the Stack Exchange communities. The mission was consistency: Every community gets the same Stack Exchange brand at the top, the same navigation between sites, and the same live updates about new inbox items and reputation changes

But we realize that not everybody uses Stack Exchange the same way. Some people focus on one community, others participate in several, and more than a few spend a lot of time lurking now that we have 116 different sites to choose from. …

happy dance
/me removes arqade and ELU from list
now I can add PPCG meta too!

^ What happens when I try to use Facebook in a bad mood.

They autoplay videos on timeline?

Yes, they started doing it about a week ago. At least for me.

Eh, if you want people to actually listen to you, I strongly recommend not doing that.

It's been irritating the hell out of me.

That's like.. if all the videos from your youtube search started playing

11:50 PM
At least they had the sense to not auto-play with sound.
I wonder how it works with mobile. "Sure, we'll suck down this video for you even if you don't want to view it." Sounds great.

Oh... so that makes it better
I then have a tab hidden in my tab maze using up my bandwidth and Chrome won't tell me which tab it is because it only shows sources for sound..

It wouldn't surprise me. These videos just happen not to have sound.

Seems great.

Or it's really low.
They're not like YouTube videos, they're videos of my friends doing random things. :P

Mobile is quickly going towards "Use our android/iOS app or you're on your own" and I don't like it

11:52 PM
eBay won't even let me use the full site on mobile anymore. It has a "Classic Site" link and you can click it but loading any further page automatically switches you back to mobile.

Especially since most modern mobile browsers only really support those two platforms as well

waits impatiently to be able to review close votes again

@Undo DST is gonna be a big celebration for you, eh? 1 less hour until you can review again?
