@TimStone Sorry if I'm being a noob, but is there any way to test run changes to your local copy without replicating the database?

Depends on what you're trying to test, I suppose.
For my part I have a pretty similar setup as the live site (but I only have one or two site databases)

I was trying to implement custom links

You know how you can alias a column with [User Link] and it links to the profile?

user200500
Like that, except you can specify the URL pattern in the alias

Ah, gotcha. You know about the site:// syntax right?
(only tangentially related)

You mean you can use that in the alias?

No, but if you return that as a column text it will be automatically linked with the current site's URL.

A: Provide convenient way to get the current site URL in SEDE query

Tim StoneWell, since we already support arbitrary autolinking if your results have something like http://example.com/|link text I thought the easiest way to solve this problem was to introduce a site:// protocol so you could return a column 'site://posts/' + CAST(Id AS nvarchar) + '/revisions|History ...

I really need to update the documentation, hm...

Oh that's cool. That should be in the FAQ. The reason I was going for this was because autolinking displays the entire URL, but I wanted for it to show the original value and link to the URL.

You can put some text after the | and it will be used as the link text instead.
So like SELECT 'http://google.com|This is a link to Google';
Which renders as This is a link to Google

Yeah just read that part. Cool beans, is this documented anywhere?

Only in that post (and maybe some other Meta post)
I have a todo item to update the help page with all of the new features, but I haven't gotten to it yet.
Ah, right...
Consider adding autocomplete for UserId parameters

You should put up a Meta post with a list of all the features that aren't currently documented in the FAQ, people could then probably help you thresh out the wording.

Yeah, that's a good point. Now I just have to remember all of the undocumented features. ;)

[data-explorer] + [status-completed], perhaps

Yeah, I'll sort through them and put up a post either tonight or tomorrow.
