Is there any way to make the editing inline? It's weird that it highlights both the editable section and the non-editable original message in exactly the same way.

Hmm? For the kicked user, so they don't think their browser just randomly redirected them to the index page

@balpha you already do sound effects... How 'bout a raucous, "You've been KICKED!" vocalization?

@MichaelMrozek if a moderator feels the need to kick a user, I'd assume they'd give them a shot across the bow

otherwise, that's a feature that needs to be added to the moderator

But I definitely like chat. I do think however when going live on the real sites the rep requirement should be higher. Otherwise all hell is going to break loose.

It doesn't make much sense to have a feed in a room if people can't discuss it because not everyone can see it

gogole reader is slower ;)

seriously though, RSS feeds in rooms has some great uses, but I wouldn't use the chat as a feed aggregator

I the like feed idea, just irritating when it pops up in the middle of a conversation

the best use case for feeds is in our internal chat development room

When I hit rooms, can it not default to "favourites" if I'm already in all those rooms.

if you go to "mine" once, the next time you go to "rooms" you'll automatically get "mine"

same for sort order

balpha I heard that the feed has been removed from SU room to avoid user inactivity, what about adding a setting to the room to make the feed user hidden by default ?

before that, it kinda worked, but not really

So users that want it could show it but it would by hidden by default

and may be a user setting, to have feed user hide/show by default or follow room default

Q: IRC access for the chat?

Will there be any way of accessing the chat over IRC? As beautiful ajax interfaces are ... IRC is still #1 for chats.
