Right now I am "worried" as to how get the new site on A51 going and I believe given the strict process of SE filtering proposals while at the same time being rather "inattractive" to newcomers is a bottleneck hard to overcome.

So you might have some ideas as to how best get maybe some experienced SE users to participate because I believe that might be the best strategy. So how to post something like an announcement or ad on sites maybe?

Personally I also got disappointed with Area 51, or more accurate with SE strict "entrance" rules, after following two proposals all the way to private beta, just to see them closed after couple of weeks.

All the time and efforts of people, wasted.

That said, there are still success stories and sites that do make it through and launch into public beta, and so far not a single site was closed after being in public beta. (I think)

Anyway, to sum things up: to really have any chance in Area 51 proposal you must be 100% sure there are lots of people interested in it, and that you can reach them.

As for how to reach them and advertise, it's beyond me... best bet is search Area 51 meta site (Discussion Zone) surely people asked for, and got, lots of useful tips.
