@Rob were there Tennis nets 800 years ago?
@Luuklag Purification

> Real tennis evolved, over three centuries, from an earlier ball game played around the 12th century in France.
Real tennis – one of several games sometimes called "the sport of kings" – is the original racquet sport from which the modern game of tennis (originally called "lawn tennis") is derived. It is also known as court tennis in the United States, formerly royal tennis in England and Australia, and courte-paume in France (to distinguish it from longue-paume, and in reference to the older, racquetless game of jeu de paume, the ancestor of modern handball and racquet games). Many French real tennis courts are at jeu de paume clubs. The term real was first used by journalists in the early 20th century...

@Luuklag hmm so Tennis was just emerging then that poor mummy was bound with those ropes, @Rob might be on to something. :D
But forget about mummies, Will arrived!
:P

will or william?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Spatially efficient burial? :P

@Rob For a second I though that was plagiarism / scam. Why do Squaresoft have a second, no logo account beside the main one (SQUARE ENIX Co.,Ltd.)?? Weird.

8:56 AM
@SPArcheon probably cause of legalese

@Luuklag Will
@Tinkeringbell yup!! :D

10 points for the archaeologist!

@Tinkeringbell who? @SPA ?

Me? Fully certified archaeologist here XD

@Tinkeringbell When was the last time you held a shovel?

8:59 AM
Saturday

So you're switching careers then ;)

@Luuklag probable. Yet thing like Bob World exist, so you never know.

Digging in the past? :D
I didn't use shovel since I was a kid, when I helped my mother in the garden.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 You let your wife do all the gardening?
How emancipated of you

@Luuklag no garden anymore, living in a building in a small town.
We do have few plants, I try to not forget to water them. :D
My mother just hires someone who takes care of the garden. ;)

9:19 AM
Make a rooftop garden

@Luuklag Already did that once, wasn't planning on doing it again soon ;)

Anyone thinks this should get status-review, as only staff can answer:

Q: Will there be a winter bash 2021 this year?

EranAre we having a Winterbash this year? I really hope so. Usually this late in November the countdown page is already up. In 2020 it was up by November 24th. In 2018 it was up by November 23rd. In 2019 the countdown did come late (early December), so maybe there's still hope...

10:35 AM
@Luuklag no rooftop either :(

10:56 AM
@Luuklag Meh. This is one of those questions that answers itself, and doesn't need specifically bothering people about.
If one of them comes across it and answers it, fine... if not, it can be answered by the community once a countdown is live or December is over :P
@Luuklag There, fixed it already. Lazy searching from OP.

@tripleee poof

11:34 AM
@Tinkeringbell So, summon Yaakov?

@Luuklag yup, very quick poof indeed after I finally reported it here

(would give an excuse to drag him here again....)
(seriously, did something happen or he is just lingering in another room?)

@SPArcheon Absolutely no need to, the answer was very trivial to find.

@SPArcheon Yeah I'm curious too. But I don't want to drag up something that should be left burried perhaps

Hopefully he's just busy programming a new sort of hat dash :P

@Luuklag It's Will.i.am.
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Yeah, they tried a trick and got tangled up in the net; so they just chucked 'em into the cave (without a pot to piss in).

poof

1:48 PM
@Rob this might explain mummification.

Rob
2:26 PM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Yes, you are on to something. Instead of tennis netting mummification arose as a result of goofing around with cloth hammocks:

@Rob quick way to vomit, but doubt he'll turn out a mummy.

Rob
Ferris Wheel projectiles are better, it's the great height that adds the weight; and the spatter.
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 The gravity created by the inertia is consistent, so it's not as likely to induce nausea as a gravity reversal:
A reduced-gravity aircraft is a type of fixed-wing aircraft that provides brief near-weightless environments for training astronauts, conducting research and making gravity-free movie shots. Versions of such airplanes were operated by the NASA Reduced Gravity Research Program, and one is currently operated by the Human Spaceflight and Robotic Exploration Programmes of the European Space Agency. The unofficial nickname "vomit comet" became popular among those who experienced their operation. == History == Parabolic flight as a way of simulating weightlessness was first proposed by the Germ...

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 brews a cup of Affogato for @g3r

2:36 PM
o/

@Rob I'll have to try it in order to prove or disprove.
@g3rv4 \o

Rob
Check your coffee cup for filling error.

@Rob it's empty
Almost

Rob
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Time for a refill.

2:58 PM
@Rob for some reason, I never refill my coffee cups, I just make in another cup. Never really paid attention to it, dunno why. Most coworkers do the same, except one who indeed refills her cup.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 This was super cute

Rob
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 So you throw the glass mug away and make a new one, or refill it ?

@Spevacus hehe thanks, I've just improved it. (before seeing your message ;))
@Rob neither. I put the glass in the "Wash Those Please" area, and making coffee in a clean cup.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Ha, nice.

We're soon moving to a new place, WeWork style, think we won't have a kitchen there anymore.
So, only paper cups and coffee machines.
@Spevacus :)
!!/FHRS

3:07 PM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 No such command 'fhrs'.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Here they're implementing a ban on coffeecups in the workplace

@Luuklag plastic only, I guess?
Yeah here in Israel they plan to make plastic cost lots more to reduce usage.
But paper cups should be fine, it's fully recyclable. No?

We've got styrofoam ones.

huh? Googling new word

3:10 PM
You might know it as "polystyrene foam" but I'm not sure

@Spevacus nope, think I got it though, even though no Hebrew version of the Wikipedia page.

They're apparently a pain to recycle and are discouraged but here in the good ol' US of A we don't care about that. :)

Found!
Polystyrene (PS) is a synthetic aromatic hydrocarbon polymer made from the monomer known as styrene. Polystyrene can be solid or foamed. General-purpose polystyrene is clear, hard, and brittle. It is an inexpensive resin per unit weight. It is a poor barrier to oxygen and water vapour and has a relatively low melting point. Polystyrene is one of the most widely used plastics, the scale of its production being several million tonnes per year. Polystyrene can be naturally transparent, but can be coloured with colourants. Uses include protective packaging (such as packing peanuts and in the jewel...
In Hebrew it's just called "קלקר" which sounds like "Kal-Kar", no idea why.

Interesting.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 no, all single-use cups

3:13 PM
hmm.... wait, I know. It's light weight and used for cold drinks. "Kal" means light weight, and "Kar" means cold.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 no they're often coated with plastic on the inside, otherwise they leak

@Luuklag too bad...
@Luuklag that's bad, some people don't wash dishes... ;)
And what about Take Away?
cute but lost Student, who can help her find the way to the proper site?
Judging by the code, gis.stackexchange.com?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I think that is still allowed, but they have to take back those cups I think

They have to take a deposit for it, and return

@Luuklag oh I see.

Rob
@Luuklag That's polyethylene:
Plastic-coated paper is a coated or laminated composite material made of paper or paperboard with a plastic layer or treatment on a surface. This type of coated paper is most used in the food and drink packaging industry. == Function == The plastic is used to improve functions such as water resistance, tear strength, abrasion resistance, ability to be heat sealed, etc. Some papers are laminated by heat or adhesive to a plastic film to provide barrier properties in use. Other papers are coated with a melted plastic layer: curtain coating is one common method. Printed papers commonly have a top...

Going to wash the dishes now.
Wish me luck! :P

Rob
Luck you wish.

Thank you, I am.

Is there any SEDE query that shows how many questions on a site have 5 tags?

@Rob knew you'd say it. ;)
5
Q: How can I limit search results to questions with exactly five tags?

Rick SmithGiven that the limit on the number of tags is five, there is a possibility that a question that uses all five tags may not be using the best choice of tags for others to locate that question at a later date. There is no option in search to identify such questions. For example, tagcount:5 is not a...

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Thank you!

@EkadhSingh-ReinstateMonica :)

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 It's especially dangerous when used for hot drinks, or extended contact with cold liquids (like bottled water): saferchemicals.org/2014/05/26/styrene-and-styrofoam-101-2 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17915704

@Feeds the four engineering metrics that will streamline the onebox upgrade.

@Tinkeringbell winterbash2020.stackexchange.com still online, weird

it's easier to leave something running, than to remove it

4:46 PM
@KevinB yep, that is the point.
Every day, they say they will get the site offline right after WB ends.
And it stays there.
Then, around November they start working on new WB.
At that point, they kinda "have to" pull down and archive the old site.
So, when you see the site taken down, you basically know something is moving on that front...

:shrug:
it's just a marketing campaign that you're playing into at this point

@Rob I thought I'd wait until after the holidays; a couple weeks at least. I only usually flag if the issue hasn't been addressed for a few years, but thanks anyway. I'll keep an eye on it

At least it earned a badge too.
