@mickmackusa almost same, with 10 years diff (played FF games in my 20's rather than teens) but now with three kids I do find time to play Final Fantasy 14, it's purely online but not really multi-player, as you play most of it solo. And it's great!

It's very different from all other FF games I've played, in all aspects, but still they keep the gist of the game, the world, the background story. It has free tier which is limited, I tried it for couple of months then bought the full version.
