Remind me again, why don't manually reported posts in MSE appear here?
I remember when asking to make them appear here people said it would be just noise, but how exactly is this more noise than the automatically posted spam reports?????
Some logic is just twisted in a way I'd never understand. meh.
..and finally deleted with 12 downvotes meaning 6 users who just downvoted without flagging as spam. lol
Found it!

Or star this if you think the delay should be kept as not to flood the room.
So with the one hour (?) delay it means spam just stay on MSE....
(thought it's 5 minutes delay but turns out it's much more.)
:(

@rene Kenny needs you ;)

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 TBH most of the people here are also on meta
Also
that one isn't spam. Its just someone being dumb
its literally a screenshot of someone's bitcoin wallet after a 0.2 bitcoin transaction

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I'm not at home atm. This has to wait till tonight

@rene ok, FOX will keep me company in the meanwhile. :P
@Sonic I'm curious to hear what you think about Striketober?
Is it justified?

Rob
11:25 AM
Striketober is the labor strike wave in October 2021 by workers in the United States in the context of strikes during the COVID-19 pandemic. During the month, more than 100,000 workers in the United States either participated in or prepared for strikes in one of the largest increases of organized labor in the twenty-first century. The labor movement occurred as workers who were made to work long hours for low wages observed businesses making increasing profits while income inequality in the United States intensified. Due to the labor shortage of the Great Resignation – which some economist...

@Rob well yeah. On one hand workers are rightfully striking due to unfair conditions, on the other hand this cause long range harm, prices to climb up, and eventually many people getting hurt by it.
(e.g. whole companies would shut down, people who do want to keep working can't work anymore.)

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Didn't you do your research?:
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 ... and your solution is:
"Eat the Rich" is a song by British heavy metal band Motörhead. It was released as a single in 1987, in 7" and 12" vinyl pressings. Both formats featured the b-side "Cradle to the Grave", and the 12" also included "Just 'Cos You Got the Power". The title song was written for Peter Richardson's 1987 film Eat the Rich, starring the regular cast of The Comic Strip: the song also features on the Motörhead album Rock 'n' Roll The Dutch single released by Roadrunner Records took the title track of the album as the A-side in place of "Eat the Rich", keeping "Cradle to the Grave" as the B-side. The sleeve...
I don't miss any companies that have closed, they didn't pay me anything.

12:54 PM
@Rob nope. Was just asking for opinion(s).

1:11 PM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains and all that...
More seriously - we're in a period where between covid stimuluses, and the economy worldwide being quite... um.... <profanity>, being temporarily unemployed isn't going to hurt you as much
so, it seems like a perfect situation to question the excesses of a 'employer'/corporate centric economic system

@JourneymanGeek well yes and no. Yes, it won't hurt each of them personally, in the short term, but it is causing big damage they can't really see, in the long run.
Should they all stop and get back to work? Not sure, it won't be fair for them.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 and that to some extent is what the often toxic relationship between big corps and employees rely on

Ideally, government would step in and put some order in there.

Somehow we're expected to do our part for the broader economy

(e.g. better salary enforced by law.)

1:15 PM
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 In the us that's ... difficult politically since the big parties are also supported by these entrenched interests
(and I'm not giving the democrats a pass here - though many of their folks are better in that respect

@JourneymanGeek yeah, that's the main rot point.

Rob
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Israel is behind the US for both Cost of Living: worlddata.info/cost-of-living.php and Quality of Life: worlddata.info/quality-of-life.php - so you are much worse off; and shouldn't be defending the lack of improvement this past 1/2 century.

(and in a micro level I feel this...)

Wish I had some major insight or deep thoughts, but I don't, just my opinion as side observer. And I have a feeling Sonic might have something to add, hence originally asking him. :)

also I think there's a lot of covid burn out

1:18 PM
@Rob I defend nothing; I set both sides on the table.
@JourneymanGeek in what sense?

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Well - to some extent, there's always a mix of a social contract, and a certain... cohersion

Rob
I don't think that the malnourished would taste as good as the rich, so I'll sit at that side of the table. 🍽️

Most people can't decide "I don't want to work for a year" even if you have the money to manage, and just pick back up on a job
So we have a time where part of the population has better conditions (work from home and so on) , and part of the population is heavily worked and essential (delivery workers)
One group realises we can do better. The other is... tired

Delivery people are paid very well from what I last heard.

Not really no
nor are the people in warehouses

1:22 PM
Problem is with waiters, cargo workers etc.

Essentially poorly paid, underappreciated folks :)
So what's wrong with realising you can ask for better?

Rob
Fortunately the government (here) is somewhat lenient on subsidising the unemployed and changing the employment insurance to more favorable conditions; causing unprofitable businesses that rely on filling the seats with bums to suffer the most, while the most important businesses remain necessary and aren't going anywhere soon.

1:41 PM
I wonder, do restaurants considered "important business"?

Not over here, they had to lock down during covid as they're superspreader locations... But it depends on how much you believe in "panem et circenses" how important they are ;)

@Tinkeringbell heh. Well here many switched to "delivery mode" only, and survived.
And since opening up again, employees won't come back.

Yeah, same here, delivery only and government support kept a lot of them open. But they got rid of a lot of temp contracts, and those people are now working for e.g. test locations so there's definitely some problems getting people.

On a different matter, @Rob I wonder if your OCR tools can read this and reveal who is the special guest?

2:44 PM
Good evening everyone!
Or whatever is there at your place

Rob
@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Netta Barzilai
😀
