@JNat thanks!
@Tinkeringbell here it's worse, there are public Facebook groups where people look for infected COVID people to make them sick too, so they will get a pass from vaccine or tests, including kids. That's right, thousands of people try to infect their own kids on purpose.

Thanks for making my world a slightly darker place, I guess.

And if you think police send those scum parents to jail, think again. Police does nothing, not even closing the groups. So it just become more and more popular.
@Tinkeringbell on the contrary, as long as such awful things don't happen in your place, your place is better. :D

Well, luckily I'm already familiar with the concept of police not doing anything, I gave up that illusion long ago XD

@Tinkeringbell oh, they do. They fine people without a mask. But just old/weak people on the street they won't dare facing young strong people.
(well now it's not on the street, rather in closed spaces, but still)

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 I said world, not place.

11:11 AM
TL;DR police will never do something that really requires real effort.
@Tinkeringbell ohhh :(

So unless those parents are physically living on a different planet, and not just mentally...

singing Beatles songs to cheer @Tink up
:(

XD I don't think that'll help.

It's okay, I don't need cheering up.

11:12 AM
buying crochet materials for @Tink to cheer her up
@Tinkeringbell oh, good!

I can manage life without being treated like a spoiled brat :P

aborting shipment of crocheting materials

Probably better too... Receiving it would probably have cost me a pretty fortune with the new tax rules XD

@Rob that would be very salty.
@Tinkeringbell I'm cheapskate, ordered in $5
:P
The kind of stuff from China that crumbles after first use. ;)

Well not all stuff from China is bad... ordered two books of patterns from aliexpress once, and they arrived in better shape than most books shipped nationally XD

11:18 AM
@Tinkeringbell well phone screen that cost half the price just fell apart less than year later... luckily phone not really used anymore, but still. Better pay double and have a screen that lasts more than a year. ;)

Oh, sure, you need to be picky :P
Like I said though, it's not really profitable anymore to order stuff from aliexpress here, because they just add a fee for 'processing' and taxes now.

Picky is better than pricky. :D
@Tinkeringbell who adds? The site, or your own country when you collect the package?
Here package worth over some threshold requires some crazy tax too in order to get it.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Country/postal services.

@Tinkeringbell no taxes below 400 SGD here but they want to change that 😭

@Tinkeringbell :(
oops language was set to Hebrew so it also reverse the brackets lol
( becomes ) and vice versa.

@ShadowWizardIsVaccinatedV3 Things used to be 'free' up to 22 euros, which was ideal. Now this year they changed the rules, you're paying 21% taxes + 4 euro's... which gets quite ridiculous for e.g. a 10 euro thing: You end up paying 61% extra!
And that is if it all comes in the same package XD which was often not the case for my aliexpress craft stuff, that would be packages of 3 euro's worth of stuff....

@Tinkeringbell yeah, sad. Either they got greedy (anyone checked where the money goes?) or they do it for reasons of reducing the insane amounts of orders from foreign places to encourage people to buy locally.

Either way it's ridiculous.

yeah that's for sure
Proper way would be to lower prices of local brands

yeah..

In this one-off Level Up session, we’re exploring TypeScript, a popular programming language used for web development. Josh Goldberg, a Staff Frontend Developer at Codecademy, walks us through the basics of TypeScript. We discuss its relationship to JavaScript, how TypeScript is used in real production environments (like Codecademy itself!), how to get involved in the…
