Hi, does my 351 reputation limit me from doing more for SE. I know about the reputation and what roles you get when you reach those reps but how can I do more. Right now I can downvote add comments everywhere close flag for my own questions etc.. but is there anything else I can do that is unwritten? I don’t have any questions to ask right now. I will if I find something . Just wondering. Thanks

Probably... I just remembered I've not drank any water today. I'll go get a water bottle. I legitimately have problem remembering to drink enough water. I usually leave a bottle of water next to me. Or a pot of tea. But without anything visible, I just forget to drink stuff during the day.

I find that keeping some water basically visible works well.

I also make a whole pot of tea (1L) twice a day and sip it.

As in, sometimes I make a pot of tea. That's not a bottle of water + 2 pots of tea every day.

I disagree with the downvoted answer there but I don't have the rep to DV further. There is getting enough water to survive and getting enough water overall. I've spent literal weeks without drinking water or much liquids. Maybe a cup of coffee a day or something but most of the fluids I'd get from food.

I've survived, sure but I'd get other problems.

When I wear contacts, it's quite uncomfortable if I've not drank enough water because my eyes are "stickier" (the tear fluid of the eyes is thicker). Sure, I won't die from this but wearing contacts becomes annoying and very tiring for the eyes.

Not exactly the same, but sortof along the same vein. Little more open to all forms of activity, rather than just earning rep

I'd assume most people who reach 25k, have good enough answers such that they can stop participating and keep earning rep for a long time

at least, on SO. dunno bout the long-term quality/stickiness in other communities

but for me, rep was secondary to why i was answering questions.

so when i hit 25k, 30k, etc, rep was just a number, it wasn't driving me to keep going

or making me feel like i wasn't getting anything, because i was getting something from answering.

Once i no longer felt like i was learning, it didn't feel worth continuing. I still get the feel good from helping someone, but... at the same time, I'd rather help someone figure it out on their own, than provide an answer in most cases. I find that more enjoyable

Your question would probably be mroe easily answerable, if you fixed the "earning rep" bit to clearly be about actively participating in ways that earn rep, rather than the passive rep everyone who provides useful content gets.

my slowdown was past 55k

but effectively the point I'm trying to make is, earning reputation is easier when there's more questions to answer. so, somewhere like SO, you could literally answer 3-5 questions a day if you're looking at an active tag, or across several lesser active ones. That's not true of smaller sites

3-5 answers a day, provided they're on questions that aren't going to be closed, will very quickly get you to pretty high rep

smaller sites don't have that luxury (or curse)
