12:00 PM
@JohnDvorak 🚽?

no, I mean, the mouth is already functional. It's not used to pass any nutrients, but the tongue can begin training.

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I don't know the exact techniques but it was drawing from an existing database of recipes, feedback and I think the chemistry behind the flavors. At least it was obvious that it would suggest alternatives like peach/apricot but some alternatives were less common knowledge
No need for chat slowmode with kids ':-)

@JohnDvorak heh
@curious hmm? What do you mean?

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 hmm? What do you mean?

12:23 PM
@M.A.R. mean mean what do you mean?

@JohnDvorak by the end, yeah

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I meant my replies are so spaced out because the kids were stilll home

12:42 PM
@curious ohh ok, lol :D
Whoa four new lurkers people who arrived and keeping silent! :P

@JohnDvorak you added an extra 0, it's .015%... not THAT bad :^)

@curious just wait a couple of years :P

@g3rv4 need a coffee? ;)

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 stares intently at @Sha
Sneaks in some downvotes on old posts

@curious usually adding a zero makes no difference, but that's an exception... ;)

12:45 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 just had mine... I wouldn't mind a 🧉 though

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 \o

@g3rv4 can't tell what it is based on the ordinary font size, let me enlarge it...
@bobble o/

Looks like a strawberry to me, but I'm sure it's not supposed to :P

It's an oil tanker, no wait

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 it's a mate

12:46 PM

A chubby cannon

A bomb?

now that we have our own emoji we gotta use it

Looks like a Bloody Mary to me :P

A bomb with a lid

12:47 PM
or maybe a chubby pipe

a beetle with a smoke

@g3rv4 still not sure what is it? ^^

lol

Looks like a bird looking upwards

12:47 PM
I know what it is only because of Ron Dunn from Parks and Rec :P

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 you can read about it on its wiki page :)

Evil goo

a red bubble coming out of a bubble wand

Close enough
If there's any dystopian future, it is when caffeine is monopolized
Google would have nothing on THAT

@g3rv4 I don't drink my mates.... ;)
@g3rv4 :D

12:50 PM
No no, it's matte

OK, let's give this a try, @g3r
!!/mate g3r

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 No such command 'mate'.

:sigh: alright, preparing mine then

You make your own?? That's nice. ;)
Just don't give to the daughter.... :D
Both my daughters are fine not having coffee yet, but son keeps nudging and wants to taste.

12:52 PM
@M.A.R. good thing they can't monopolize other sources of stress. You wouldn't believe how well a stubbed toe can keep you awake.

Rob
@JohnDvorak Yes, if you want one drink then you don't want to order the other - you think it would go without saying but some people don't understand alcohol or a drinks - beer and box wine is what they were brought up on.

By "brought up", what age range are we talking here? :P

Rob
Tomatoe or Worcester sauce are hardly the most disgusting things ever put in a drink.

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 kids taste it for the first time when they're about 6 yo and hate it

Rob
How about a humantoe or rotting worm?

12:55 PM
@JohnDvorak stubbed toe? How did you manage that?

@Rob If you're talking about the tequila with a worm in it, pretty sure it doesn't rot

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 easy: the door you always keep closed at night because it's a safety hazard - your roommate doesn't

@g3rv4 heh, not in my case, wife is very strict about it. :D
@JohnDvorak door with sharp bottom? Can see how you get a bump, but stubbed?

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 :) I think I'd give my daughter a sip of my espresso and she'll hate it... we did that with coke when she was 1.5 yo and worked like a charm... she's 2.5 now and is still convinced she doesn't like it (although... I'm sure it's going to change soon)

Noun: stub (plural stubs)
  1. Something blunted, stunted, or cut short, such as stubble or a stump.
  2. And prickly stubs instead of trees are found.
  3. A piece of certain paper items, designed to be torn off and kept for record or identification purposes.
  4. check stub, ticket stub, payment stub
  5. (computing) A placeholder procedure that has the signature of the planned procedure but does not yet implement the intended behavior.
(4 more not shown…)
stubbed, not stabbed

12:58 PM
@g3rv4 hehe, totally. Well make sure to give her espresso with no sugar. ;)
@JohnDvorak ohhhh. lol

Stabbing your toe on accident is, indeed, rare

Too similar for my poor mind. :P
Well that indeed hurt like hell, but should go away pretty quickly, no? @John

Rob
@cairdcoinheringaahing Read Tyler's review (last one): mezcalreviews.com/mezcal/monte-alban-mezcal-con-gusano

@John so you have a roommate? That's interesting, for some reason assumed you have a family. Assumptions aren't my strong side. :P

@Rob Mezcal worm. That's not the only mezcal that has a worm in it, typically they're cured with pure alcohol and don't rot. From the other reviews, I'm guessing that's just a VLQ mezcal that doesn't bother :/

1:03 PM
I meant roommate in generic.

Rob
@cairdcoinheringaahing and you didn't take issue with the Sourtoe Cocktail: dawsoncity.ca/sourtoe-cocktail-club

@JohnDvorak as in "person who lives with me in same house"? ;)

yes

anyone else having intermittent issues with the blog? meta.stackoverflow.com/questions/410452/… we don't want to miss a WC opportunity for @KevinB ...

1:04 PM
@Rob I've never heard of that :P

Rob
100,000 members.

I have heard a whole bunch of misconceptions around the mezcal worm tho, to the point where it bugs me :P

@cairdcoinheringaahing yeah Rob has habit of introducing new things to people. ;)

@Rob eeeeewl

> Step 2 – Purchase a shot
Can I purchase 4 or 5 instead? :P
> Since its inception, the club has acquired (by donation) over 10 toes.
I am very glad they added the (by donation) :P

1:06 PM
@rene fine for me, probably location related

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Like "standard practice" and canonical definitions.

@Rob if someone swallow the toe by mistake, do they ask them to give their toe instead?
(that's not written)

How do you swallow a toe by mistake?

@cairdcoinheringaahing instinct
Might lead to choking, in which case guess the heirs get a pass.

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Remind me to keep my toes away from you :P

1:09 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing :-D

Rob
and they film your ...

nibbles at @caird's toe
@Rob who? What? Why?
aka WWW

Rob
In your case the film is saran wrap, as it's gas impermeable.

@g3rv4 OK, looks like people using that emoji in their display name. It's common enough. :P
Change of subject! Is this a smile?

Looks more like a grimace to me

1:20 PM
yep
But got a "smile" tag

Rob

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Doing a search: It's CIA Sassy Cat: wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/cms/page_11629155.html arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/03/…

2:25 PM
@Rob nice find

A cat on wikileaks? The internet never ceases to amaze.

@Mast well even people who leak, are still human and share random things. :D

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 The exact meaning of sassy is fairly wide open, and subject to context and gender: npr.org/sections/codeswitch/2014/08/31/344039582/…

Thought it's just short for suspicious.

Impudent.
Shameless.

2:30 PM
@Rob so, Kenny works with the CIA? Or with Wikileaks? /cc @rene

Kenny is the CIA

oh
This explains the pee and poo.
And the rudeness when telling him to wipe.

Rob
I don't think suspicious applies, under any circumstances; suspicious that you thought that.

That's sus, not sassy.

2:33 PM
oh
I might have also mixed it with sissy somehow, though it's totally unrelated. I need a coffee.
:P
!!/cat coffee

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 No such command 'cat'.

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 That's assy, not sassy; the sound his ass makes - Eeyore

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 A sissy is something completely different. Sissy is disparaging.

@Rob sound? Does it make any sounds except for farts? pondering
@Mast I know :/
Well coffee was good, now I should be fine. ;)

2:43 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Did you just down it? That was a very fast coffee :P

Some people drink coffee like it's ouzo.

@cairdcoinheringaahing sure, shot of coffee. :P

I know what you mean, but for some reason I'm picturing an alcoholic style "shot" rather than an espresso :P
Take a shot of coffee with a milk chaser instead of an actual latte :P

3:06 PM
@cairdcoinheringaahing maybe easier to imagine it when it comes in such a cup?

3:40 PM
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I've accepted your answer on my close reason update question and am trying to route any additional critiques to your answer instead of my own.

Rob
3:52 PM
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Apparently there are coffee printers,so that image isn't fake:

It's basically a less-sophisticated 3D printer stuck on a coffee machine.
Of-course someone made that...

Rob
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 You are no Mr. Methane!

Technically it's a 2 d printer?
Only you are moving the head x and y like a plotter

🚽

@JourneymanGeek 2D is less than 3D, right?
Perhaps more appropriate would be to call it a deposition modelling plotter.
shrug

Rob
4:22 PM
@JourneymanGeek Their "technology" page is here: drinkripples.com/technology - there are other brands which print 3D.

People have too much money...

Rob
5:25 PM
The machine pays for itself in ~4 months if you sell only 20 per day for one dollar extra. 20×1×4×30 = 2400 --- 20 per day is ~10% of your daily sales: quora.com/… startmycoffeeshop.com/… --- Always good to offer links supporting your ideas, shows research.

2 hours later…
7:13 PM
There are cafes in NYC that have that machine that prints a photo from your cell onto your latte. I haven't tried them because I agree with @mast people have too much money, but I am so amused by the concept

@GWarner This might interest you:
An easy way to import is with an online tool: tableconvert.com - It imports: Excel URL HTML Markdown CSV JSON LaTeX SQL MediaWiki - Just [Import], click on the generated table, click on Import button that appears, now in the lower window choose your options, and copy, then paste into SE's editor. --- Complicated tables in less than a minute. --- There is more than one online site, but that one works well. --- If you want to test a bunch and add them to your Feedback, as a workaround, BMG. — Rob Jul 25 at 4:00

Maybe custom shaped water is of more interest: wavegarden.com

@Rosie yeah, heard about those machines.

There are certainly more practical applications:

@Rob no, before that.
