@Luuklag, just a "for your information" - I would have rejected your edit as No Improvement or possibly Against Author's Intent. It's too small for me to bother rolling back, though.
@bobble seems to be a reasonable removal of noise
I figured a small amount of noise was okay since it's all over other meta posts here.

Hello, it's me, someone who doesn't sleep
How's everyone doing?
Bah, it's not that late for you... I'm the one who doesn't sleep ;P
@Catija It's my first day back from vacation! It's late enough for me :P
I didn't intend to be up this late but coworking with a toddler didn't work great today ๐Ÿ˜…
Ah, yes... toddlers. :D
Rob
Rob
If it's not 5-6am it's not late. ๐Ÿ˜€
05:33
Depends on how early you have to get up.
7:30a, but that isn't terrible?
Yeah, I get up at 7... though it depends on when the 2.75 y/o wakes up sometimes. He often decides to "cuddle" which means no one gets any sleep
@KylePollard Not sleeping! Although that's normal at this time even for people who aren't me.
Fair enough! I'm west coast too so I guess you're right that most aren't sleeping, but I'm usually a lame parent in bed by now ๐Ÿ˜…
My husband is the one who does the morning stuff - he's always been more of a morning person, so he goes to bed around 10 and wakes up early, usually before the kids, and I get to sleep in... though I still probably don't get enough sleep.
05:51
I was not a morning person but then I got hired on a team that works mostly on New York time so ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
And here I am, already having dropped the kids off at daycare :)
Timezones, strange things those are
So is it really late evenings / middle of the night for you guys now?

@KylePollard not too bad, I was still at work at that point yesteday :(
05:54
@Luuklag nearly 1 am for me. I enjoy the quiet of the late hours.
And already up since 6am. Now 2 hours later time to start my first meeting
@Catija hope you didn't leave your laptop with your husband this tome around ;)
Yeah I'm loving having a flexible work schedule, late night coding is entirely self imposed ๐Ÿ˜…
@Luuklag That would be a neat trick, since I'm currently typing on it. :P
@Catija yeah Injust remember an iccasion we shouldn't ping you as not to wake your husband ;)
That ping noise is terrifying
05:58
I always mutey chat tab
The ping noise is only rivaled by the wheel of blame song on our internal chat - it does a literal song and dance and is very loud and very scary to hear while you're in a meeting
@KylePollard yeah, or when the daycare tells you to pick up your kids because one of them has a cough
@Luuklag My toddler starts daycare for the first time next month, very worried for all of the future bugs ๐Ÿ˜ญ
@Luuklag The computer is currently muted. :D
@KylePollard Especially when you forgot you had that tab open and you can't find it. :P
@KylePollard coding bugs, our childrens bugs ;)
06:01
@Luuklag pun was intended :)
haha, well it should give you some time during the day ;)
@KylePollard Yeah, same. I don't sleep either.
@Philippe you also got a toddler keeping you from work?
I have five guinea pigs.
No toddlers
And they are adorable.
06:04
That they are.
In ways that toddlers often aren't.
they don't throw up on me, for instance
Well, that's a win.

Actually I was just stoping in to say hi and make sure everyone saw our new hires announced (but of course, @Catija will have handled that).
And since this is in danger of turning into a staff chat, I'll bail out and go polish my roadmap post :P
06:08

@Philippe The one about the quarter that is almost finished? ;)
It's not even 1/3 complete.
@Catija wax on, wax off!
The quarter thet we're 1/3 of the way through.
Yeah I know, was just teasing you.
06:09
And FWIW, I had to fight to get it on the calendar this soon. They tried to push me off for three more weeks!

LuuklagThanks for the update. I can't help but notice that this was posted on April 23rd, at the end of the day - meaning that almost a third of the quarter has already passed. This appears to be somewhat of a recurring theme. Perhaps you could focus on starting these roadmap discussions somewhat earlie...

@Philippe so a 1/3 of what you put in the roadmap is already accomplished! You can take credit for that!
Rene, if only it worked that way
Hey, in my defense, I was hired the first week of the quarter.
06:10
You can make it work, you're VP now ...
The fact that its' getting out three weeks later is kind of a miracle, if you saw my calendar.
@Philippe Hmm, I recall one poster on your question series advising you to get a time machine. Perhaps that would help ;-)
Ryan, I tried to get one on Amazon but they all looked sus.
Now I'm really curious what the results are for searching that...I've surely seen my fair share of sus products there ^^;

@KylePollard how am I just hearing this now? @Catija, you're fired. Anita too.

Yep, books and movies. And force-setting the department doesn't help, it just redirects.
Oh, it IS a trap. Hmmm, I don't think I have the authority to fireKyle.

The two-section staff or Changxiaobang (Chinese: ้•ทๅฐๆฃ’; pinyin: cháng xiวŽo bàng; lit. 'long/short pole') is a versatile weapon which originated in China from the ancient Shaolin temple and Shaolin martial arts. It is a flail-type weapon which consists of a long staff with a shorter rod attached by a chain, to serve as a cudgel. == See also == Three-section staff Kung Fu Wushu (sport) Northern Shaolin Southern Shaolin Hung Ga Shaolin Kung Fu Nunchaku Pyeongon Flail (weapon)

I was just in Vancouver and went to this D&D themed pub. You have to roll a d20 for some of their menu items. stormcrow.com/location/storm-crow-alehouse-vancouver
I rolled a 1 on their random drinks menu which was not great
@KylePollard awesome!!
@KylePollard dare I ask the result?
@RyanM It was a shot of tequila with hot sauce
My wife rolled an 8 and got a shot of whiskey with a pickle juice chaser
Arguably the two worst options
I've had the latter. It's...okay.
I might actually prefer the tequila and hot sauce, but that's mostly because I like hot sauce...
Depends very much on the hot sauce in question.
Rob
Rob
It looks like this:
06:50
@RyanM It was just tabasco
In that case, I'd take the whiskey and pickle juice over that.
I miss the Adamant Spiders that I created as DM. Was surprised to see them used in Border Lands, as I never published them, lol.

Yeah, they're easy to guzzle.
Why would anyone ruin an alcoholic beverage by adding tomato juice?!
Rob

Normally it's served in a highball glass.
Do you like Ceasars, why would anyone spoil alcohol with clam juice!
Never heard of that.
I just ruin cola by adding cheap rum/whiskey/liquor to it.
07:56
@Rob if you're drunk enough.... Everything sounds like a good idea?
Rob
Rob
Almost the same drink,plus clam juice:
A Caesar (also known as a Bloody Caesar) is a cocktail created and consumed primarily in Canada. It typically contains vodka, a caesar mix (a blend of tomato juice and clam broth), hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime. What distinguishes it from a Bloody Mary is the inclusion of clam broth. The cocktail may also be contrasted with the Michelada, which has similar flavouring ingredients but uses beer instead of vodka. == Origin == The original cocktail of vodka with seasoned...
Yeah, that looks properly ruined.

Invented in the '20's (not last year) the Bloody Mary is a popular and well known drink: bestbloodymary.com/history - but I guess it's different where you two are.
Oh, it's well-known. I don't know about popular, I don't have any friends that drink them. I just hate tomatoes/tomato juice :P
I initially read it as 'barn cloth", and I don't exactly know what "clam broth" is, but I don't think I'd put either in a drink
(nor tomato juice nor Worcestershire sauce)
People tend to try all kinds of weird things, until something sticks.
@JohnDvorak en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clam_juice And yeah, doesn't sound appetizing XD
e.g. salty chocolate. Who'd think it can be tasty, say 50 years ago?
But with correct amounts and mixing more stuff, it can be.
@ColeValleyGirl what's your favorite drink? ;)
@JohnDvorak To be fair... none of that sounds as bad as alcohol with tomato juice :P
I now have an inexplicable craving for deep-fried skittles
08:44
I mean, I could use some deep-fried things too... but skittles?! XD
I'll take a frikandel :D
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Black coffee no sugar. I'm very boring in that regard. Or a nice chilled white wine, not too sweet...
Or beetroot juice!
I wonder if I could make a Bloody Mary with beetroot juice instead of tomato juice. Now, there's a thought.
08:59
Nice to see a mobile site bug being status-reviewed today. Means they still care for it even in the meantime before it's removed.
@Tinkeringbell It's frequently consumed here...referred to as a "Bloody Mary".
@ColeValleyGirl If you're going to experiment, keep me updated ;)
Anyways, is anyone disturbed by the way that Cueball holds that laptop?
Not really :P
@JohnDvorak It's a laptop, not a Surface. Modern laptops don't have any trouble being held like that, especially due to the proliferation of SSDs and thinner and lighter designs.
One thing that also doesn't make sense to me is the espresso cocktail...doesn't the caffeine (a stimulant) conflict with the alcohol (a depressant)?
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I don't see how the hard drive type helps Cueball maintain sufficient grip. The don't provide sufficient weight reduction and the trackpad specifically isn't exactly a high-friction surface
09:09
@JohnDvorak ThinkPads have high-friction trackpads
wait, how do you use them then?
If you put your finger lightly on them, you can't feel the friction
They also have trackpoints, so you can disable the trackpad in the settings so you don't make accidental clicks when holding it that way, without having to use an external mouse
@JohnDvorak reluctantly
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog ๐Ÿค”
@ColeValleyGirl meant a cocktail like we discussed before, but white wine will do too. :D
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog I have a feeling Yaakov missed the part saying it happens only in mobile theme, thinking it's in the responsive design on a mobile device. We'll see soon enough.
Review means a dev will take a look, might as well be rejected.
09:40
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I'm not really a cocktail drinker.... I drank screwdrivers in my youth (vodka and orange) but not for a long time.
@ColeValleyGirl fair! :)
10:29
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Can you reproduce it on the mobile site?
@Wolgwang yes, I was wrong. It's a quirk of the mobile theme, which didn't get any attention since it's going to be removed soon.
So they simply didn't remove the HTML showing the staff indicator.
Users with their site name as display name are usually spammers.
Actual user would use actual name, or nickname.
There are exceptions, but this one doesn't look like an exception.
11:02
@Tinkeringbell Well if you can deep fry a mars bar...
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 By the end of 2021?
@Wolgwang yup
