It wasn't that exciting, you didn't miss anything of relevance :-)

@Mast brews a cup of Latte for @Mast

Latte? That's not coffee...

8:15 AM
@Luuklag obliterated

@Mast well it contains coffee...
> Caffe latte is a coffee drink made with espresso and steamed milk. The term comes from the Italian caffè e latte [kafˌfɛ e lˈlatte], caffelatte [kaffeˈlatte
espresso is a coffee. ;-)

I know a lot of (ex-)touringcar drivers that drink instant coffee in hot milk.
It's an acquired taste.

@Mast I drink instant coffee with milk a lot, and I'm not a touringcar driver. :D
@Mast so it wasn't nuclear attack plans? :(

And I'm not sure what the Chinese put in their canned coffee, but that's odd stuff too.
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 Those aren't shared in rooms starting with a T.

Mr. Brown Coffee (Chinese: 伯朗咖啡; pinyin: Bólǎng Kāfēi) is a series of canned coffee products produced by King Car Group of Taiwan. It was launched in 1982. Mr. Brown Coffee is sold in 240ml steel cans and 330ml plastic bottles. Varieties include original, espresso, cappuccino, vanilla, Colombian, Macadamia nut, Black and Blue Mountain Style. As part of the 2008 Chinese milk scandal, it was discovered that the same melamine-contaminated milk was being used for Mr. Brown instant coffee mixes. The company then switched to New Zealand-sourced milk for their products. In 2019, to celebrate Brunei...
This?

@Mast sure they are, for example "Test Nuclear Attack". ;)

8:28 AM
Had a different logo on it and was in smaller red-bull-like cans, not soda cans.
@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 I was about to say that room is called Nuclear Attack Test, but I couldn't possibly comment.

@Mast this?
@Mast NAT. No need to add, I see now. :P

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 More like that, yea.
A bit like bitter, caffeinated, unsweetened chocomel.

@JNat cross site spammer: stackexchange.com/users/20218776/zoey79?tab=accounts Looks like a genuine contribution on Ask Ubuntu, perhaps the account was compromised afterwards?

@ShadowWizardWearingMaskV2 A search for "delicious melamine" sure turns up a lot of hits. [goes to lookup "lead utensils"]

"last message" on moderator's chat profile includes messages sent on a mod-only room?

Yes, but if you don't have access to the room you won't see the message in their recent messages.

But one can see when the last message was sent in a mod-only room, right?

yeah

Thanks :-)

1:27 PM

I'm square.

I'm vaguely rounded.

Welcome back @g3rv4

thanks! not officially back yet though, wrapping things up at $currentJob

2:09 PM
@g3rv4 So you will spend the year at SE to fix the oneboxes in chat?

remember to fix the github gist ones as well, they've been broken as long as i've been on the network :p

We call this "oneboxing".
* Amazon products - broken AFAIK
* Twitter messages - broken
* GitHub gists - broken
* SE blog posts - broken

It did try to onebox, seeing the moving dots

Yep. Borked.

@Luuklag heh, if that's the plan I missed that part of the contract

2:15 PM
You'd probably need more then 1 year ;)
no onebox either
Ryan Donovan on July 14, 2021
Here’s a collection of resources on how to get started using Python.
Hey, a wild onebox appeared

The podcast blog posts don't onebox, the others do
AFAICT

@Luuklag Twitter onebox was disabled due to the security risk

I remember it was disabled after... the incident

thanks for the link @MetaAndrewT.
deleted already
The parrot was hungry

2:30 PM
Yeah, those last 30 minutes to dinner always get me.

@Tinkeringbell that's called cooking ;)

@Luuklag If I understood correctly, we're having fries tonight. Super healthy and stuff.
If I'm lucky, there's a bit of salad.

Why has Community's profile pic changed from a lovely MSE logo to a common Identicon?
Should I ask on Meta?

If you want to.

Unless you know something... ?

I don't; Cat might

Wha?

@Catija What's up with Community's profile picture? Conspiracy or waffles?

4:49 PM
Waffles?

Someone probably changed it network-wide accidentally or something.

Went from the SE logo to an identicon

I threw a question out to MSE to see.
@Catija if they did that wouldn't the network profile pic be like that? It's still got the SE logo.

Nah. The Network profile is heavily cached and often never changes.
The issue also seems to have happened network-wide and I can't change it network wide and I don't want to fix it on 170+ sites. :(

5:14 PM
often never

6:12 PM
is it a known... bug, feature, etc that hyperlinks in code blocks becomes actual links in the transcript, but not in chat
not a link there, but if you view that in the transcript, it's a link
huh..
didn't do it here
there it is
the // preceding affects the outcome

6:32 PM
I just realized that chat with an expert never really left
:)

6:57 PM
