@Tinkeringbell That's been requested for bordering on 10 years now

@TheforestofReinstateMonica since Glorfindel has less than 2k on Security.SE, he can only suggest 5 edits at a time. Moreover, compared to fixing broken images, changing ID on the share link might be seen as trivial edit (only useful for the OP) and might risk edit suggestion ban.

4:26 AM
I see...
Then I guess I can only hope that someone with DB access would be kind enough to do it for me.
Since it'd be most trivial for them.

@TheforestofReinstateMonica chances of that are slim to none.

@TheforestofReinstateMonica Andrew T. is right, I lack sufficient reputation for this (though it may be different in a couple of months). My bot is written in Java and the source code is not really in a state where I can transfer it.
You might have some luck if you ask a CM nicely; they have a tool for this with the added benefit that it doesn't needlessly bump the posts.

8:08 AM
@Glorfindel OK, I'll ask one. Thanks.

8:35 AM
@Mithical I'm not thrilled by that dupe meta.stackexchange.com/questions/361851 but I can't find anything better
added one extra dupe

Rob
@rene Should have been closed for "Needs details / clairity", so we could determine what they are really asking. Based on the tag (which they added, and it's not been edited in by someone else) these are also candidates for the Duplicate List: meta.stackexchange.com/q/287075/282094 meta.stackexchange.com/q/261172/282094 - thus the advantage of getting some details (and better grammar) before being quick to close.

hmm, it is not about bots I think. Fair enough.

Rob
They added the tag, for some reason; we can't edit that out, if that's what they really want to know.

8:50 AM
duh, missed that
added your dupe suggestions as well.

Member 10 months, only 9 posts, 50 rep, and yesterday begged for rep in a comment: stackoverflow.com/questions/66507229/… - other recent activity:
> "Comment: i just edited the word possible to make it look proffessional".
Certainly a recent push to do something with their account.
Back in 1/2 hour. Thanks for adding to the Duplicate List @rene

@rene $100 worth of effort in, deleted 3 minutes ago by the author. 💸

@rene yeah, I didn't think it was a perfect fit either

10:16 AM
Anyone has a clue why this happened? meta.stackexchange.com/questions/361831/…
Could it be that I unknowingly use the tag editor?

@Luuklag Nope. But there is another complaint about editing old revisions: meta.stackexchange.com/q/361822/369802 posted just a bit before yours, so it makes sense things may just be a bit broken :)

Rob
@Luuklag The Timeline history lists an identical reason as was disclosed for the previous editor, yet your edit is blank. Previously it showed loading dots ("...") but now even those don't appear. --- Database corruption?

10:32 AM
@Tinkeringbell I'll close mine as dupe of that then

@Luuklag I'm not sure if they are dupes....
But if you think so, go ahead! :)

Yeah they are essential the same, but then reversed

Rob
... except that's deleted, and many of us don't have the rep on Aviation.SE to see the post; previously it was said to not be the same; but it's your question ...

@Rob I added a comment to that question linking my dupe explicitly as having an example.

Rob
10:53 AM
@Luuklag Clicking on the tag finds this seemingly identical duplicate to yours, from a month ago.
... and another meta.stackexchange.com/q/327638/282094 revisions 3 and 2.

11:11 AM
@Rob that question is rather vague, perhaps close it as dupe of mine?

Rob
I'll have some more time to look at this later. If you want multiple duplicates listed in the banner you can ask a mod or someone with a gold hammer for one of the tags - looks like Shadow is the only one.

Do mods get a notification when someone is typing a comment on an off-topic question?

Wish we would!
We have to wait until one pops up, just like any other mortal ;)

11:26 AM
@rene I saw "rene is typing..." ...
since 6-8 weeks ago ...

lol

11:47 AM
@rene why would they??
@MetaAndrewT. no that's on WhatsApp. ;)

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating well, that would prevent that they delete the posts while I'm busy writing an extra guidance comment ...
I was expecting they delete posts on purpose, to annoy me.

@rene I would ;)

@rene We do that especially to annoy you :D

12:06 PM
I knew it! I'll post a rant to be closed as dupe of meta.stackexchange.com/questions/28867

12:32 PM
@rene ohhh.... thought that both mods here already wait until there's a canned "welcome" comment before nuking?
(or just post such themselves then delete ;))

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating sometimes I don't :D

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating Yeah, and it's that stalking and waiting for the canned comment that has bitten rene a few times now ;) Once it's there, we delete it, while rene is still busy writing another more elaborate comment :P

I do a remarkable amount of moderation on my phone or RDP

Work laptop here for 8 hours a day ;)
(It doesn't have userscripts)

@Tinkeringbell Hence RDP :D

12:37 PM
I'll add to be continued ... next time ....

a 1/2 might give a useful hint to any well awake mod too ;)

SO...
IT HAS COME TO THIS!

Rob
1:14 PM
@MetaAndrewT. It happens.

Happens it.

Extra free time: The dev server broke XD

@Tinkeringbell was it on fire

@Luuklag You joke
But its actually happened at my workplace

1:32 PM
@JourneymanGeek same, while working at amdocs

Maybe stop bitcoin mining on your dev server

someone turned off the A/C in server room, and they over heated to the point there was almost a fire.
Server room was a small and very crowded room. lol

Same in our building @ShadowWizardisVaccinating
Its a "room" at the top of the fire escape where a few servers are packed in with the buildings heating
also someone switched off that specific AC unit

@Luuklag heh. How many you lost? At amdocs think we lost three, two survived.
they later switched over to some cloud. lol

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating We only had an apple server thing in there
but the IT company in our building lost both their servers

1:35 PM
huh
I worked for the company "in-house" development, it wasn't very big.

I recall at my former workplace they smashed the window of the data center room to allow outside air to flow into the DC due to a broken AC. That broken window did cause a security incident ...

@rene LOL... do share more details... please... ;)

@Luuklag Sadly, no. Just someone hogging all the memory due to copying the entire network drive, it seems.

UPS caught fire

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating The security incident was reported due the DC room not longer being "secured'. You could crawl from the monitoring room through the broken window into the DC. The monitoring room had a lower clearance level so more people had access (like me for example).

1:54 PM
UPS looped to itself... wait... it seems... familiar...

Gotta be careful about using -O5 and overoptimizing your program to a single instruction:
In computer engineering, Halt and Catch Fire, known by the assembly mnemonic HCF, is an idiom referring to a computer machine code instruction that causes the computer's central processing unit (CPU) to cease meaningful operation, typically requiring a restart of the computer. It originally referred to a fictitious instruction in IBM System/360 computers (introduced in 1964), making a joke about its numerous non-obvious instruction mnemonics. With the advent of the MC6800 (introduced in 1974), a design flaw was discovered by the programmers. Due to incomplete opcode decoding, two illegal opcodes...

@rene huh! Anyone punished?

Rob
4:15 PM
Forced to do the paperwork by filling out Punched Cards in PostScript.

@ShadowWizardisVaccinating no, in the end they reckoned not having burned down servers was more important then keeping everyone out. The security officer in that office was pretty strict. I got escorted out the building once because I hooked up my laptop to the red network cable. That was the production network and only specific MAC addresses were allowed. Took them 2 minutes to find my laptop after I plugged in.

@rene whoa, nice. But didn't they think, well, to install proper cooldown method in the room? ;)

There was no time. Temp went up so quickly that they needed an immediate counter measure.

So... were you also interrogated? @rene
@rene I mean afterwards.... for how long the window remained broken?

Oh, I think two days or so.

IaC allows developers to supply IT environments with multiple lines of code and can be deployed in a matter of minutes (in contrast to manual infrastructure, which can take hours if not days to be deployed).

@Feeds shush don't interrupt rene

🚽

@rene huh, not bad.
@user400654 isn't it clogged by now from all the blog posts you throw in there?
