I'm trying to talk myself out of getting a 2060 as a temp card. Its slightly better than my 980 ti and I can game at 1080 (quarter my screen res) if I can crank everything else up

it would be a simpler decision of phy-x co-processing was still a thing, or explicit multi gpu took off :D

with a decent video card, despite being about 7-8 years old, it mostly holds it own...

other than the sound being broken

and I'm playing with moonlight so I can set it up as a headless gaming box :D

on the other hand

the 980 TI I have now is perfectly fine for that

since I run mostly nvidia cards

kinda been messing with it on and off, but nothing serious...

I'm hoping to get it working on the slightly potato NUC I expect to die at any time and want to plug into our old TV :D

(I went through 3 under warranty, and no 3 sat in its box for years cause I was fed up and bought a different model ;D )

it does do VGA, as does my old TV so in theory I can fire it up for some 640x480 plasma TV goodness :D

(if it dies, I do have a plan B but meeeeeh)

@Spevacus its reasonably easy to set up...

but my test system was wierd

I basically was running it on a spare PC, and didn't have a monitor spare

so I went NUC -> Video capture card -> 'Camera' app on windows, on the same PC the game was running on ;D

Well a while back I ended up in one of the bejaardenuurtjes at Jumbo, they just though the last hour before closure would be an appropriate time (20:00-21:00). Nobody said anything about it. I didn't even spot one senior at that time.

Yep! Picked it up on Saturday and I love it so far :D The adaptive cruise control is great: I encountered one of those assholes that merges in front of you way too early, and the car did all the work before I even realised it!

The only thing I have to get used to a bit is the size, if that makes sense. It's not very big car but I still need to get a bit more feeling of where the wheels are and how much space I'm occupying on the road.

Yesterday we went for a drive through the forest, and I ended up going a bit too much to the right at times.

@Luuklag The only downside is that it will pick up traffic on the left of you too. And my mom didn't realise that as soon as you're besides that traffic or past it, the car would accelerate again. So she pulled up to a traffic light then had the car accelerate back to 50km/h for a right turn XD

Journeyman Geek said to wait one week for anyone to raise objections (the week ended on October 17), and then "fire up the reaper" (i.e. begin removing the tag) if no objections were raised (which is what happened).

Yeah, I'm used to copying links from the URL bar rather than using share links...in this case, I had manually removed the question title to satisfy the character limit.
