rice tastes better then pizza to me (the rice that I make - i can't make my own pizza) so if the choice is between pizza and rice the rice wins everytime

while rice has the additional advantage of being incredibly cheap and durable

The 'good' thing with rice is I can stick it in a rice cooker, and get the core of a properass meal easily

This one recipe involves frying small asian noodles in a pan with oil, and then putting chicken broth in the rice water, and adding the noodles, then the rice. When the rice is done it has absorbed all the water and has small noodles mixed in, and then you can fry it in a pan with either chicken or beef

for the most godly rice pan possible

for variety just add any friable veggie and fry it in the pan prior

one good thing about this is all the ingredients last a long time and are very cheap to buy in bulk.

Heh. That reminds me of a genius argument I read yesterday.

People over here are vehemently opposed to a national requirement for mouth masks to stop the spread of COVID. One 'lawyer' (law scientist?) said such a requirement would go against the constitution, because it would be enforcing people to wear a certain piece of clothing...

One counterargument was that no one gets to walk naked through a busy shopping street either, rules exist that would make you wear at least pants to avoid a fine ;)

@Tinkeringbell In some countries, yes. I've done it a few times when I was living in Spain (Barcelona): we had a naked cycling protest to ask for bike infrastructure (bike lanes and the like).

The idea was that as cyclists, we were naked in front of cars.

But yes, they had recently passed a law that decriminalized public nudity. Not lewdness, of course, simply being naked.

I read today about the Anti-Censorship Activists in New York (Warning! NSFW pictures inside link) who protested against Facebook while being totally nude out in the street. I'm also pretty sure public nudity is not allowed in the USA. How come they were not arrested or at least warned by police...

Love this series so finding the complete set was awesome

And yes, the owner tried to stop me from buying them because she hadn't finished reading the whole series yet (she only relented because she had another copy of the last book....but she really wanted to keep a full set)

@LinkBerest If you use an eReader you can read it in the bathtub or at the beach (waterproof) and the books are less expensive (usually), in that case 1/5th the cost. Hardcover is excellent for collecting on a bookshelf, rare and expensive books, but eBooks are (usually) more budget friendly - rarely they are more expensive. The electronic format also has additional features such as search, bookmarks, notes ...

I don't know why they focus on React that seems to be more of a "Women who code piece" (which is fine its just confusing when mixed with the React stuff - is it "look at this cool female dev & some of the stuff she did" or "React community stunk and she fixed it"?)

where are the changes, what was the big "thing", or "key components" to... whatever the article is insinuating happened over the last year?

@user400654 They had some problems with meeting release dates in 2018 but I don't know if that is what the article is referencing (I don't remember the community being any different back then - but then I only use it to build drilldowns and mostly just use ploty/d3 anyway so.... shrug)
