@SonictheStay-HomeHedgehog The way this dynamic is SE staff won't snap at you and complain that you pinged them too much. They'll stop coming to the tavern instead or be quietly annoyed
because being around blurs into what is their job or is outright their job (for cms), so it's not an even dynamic
This is people in general. Telling someone they're annoying is an open confrontation and a lot of people aren't particularly confrontational and will endure discomfort or annoyance to avoid it.

@Magisch Perhaps the best solution would be for a way to indicate how open staff members are to pings, so that no one oversteps that line, but you're right, that threshold is dynamic.

Basically, we expect everyone to use their common sense in estimating how open staff members are to pings. You failed that spectacularly several times, so we're telling you not to use your common sense and abstain from pinging entirely.

Honestly, this is not a discussion I'm going to have here again. I'll put a note in the mod room and if any employee feels the rule is unfair, I'll let you know.
