@Jenayah I laugh every time people are baffled like that by the sound... Thanks! 😄
That was a fun night... Chunk of code that generates unique id based on time crashed because the long data type became negative. 5 major clients were down....
Good news are that it's not my code...
Bad news are that it's still my problem...
Pro tip: don't shift the Ticks of current date too much.
@Jenayah There's a song in my playlist that has a sound exactly like the Discord ping in the middle and it gets me every time. (I can't even remember which song now, though.)
@JourneymanGeek We wouldn't need to wear masks if we could trust people to stay apart, and stay home when having symptoms. But we can't, so we have to trust the two layers of the most breathable material they have lying around sewn together are protecting us...
I mean, I'd love to be confident enough to trust them... like I said, though... " two layers of the most breathable material they have lying around sewn together" combined with bad use... I'm not saying they don't help, but I've seen too many stories/cases of bad usage to trust that they'll protect me from others.
That, and the fact that my mom is supposed to wear full protective gear when dealing with suspected Covid clients, instead of just putting a mask on them.
There definitely has been plenty of bad use (they do nothing when hanging around the neck!) but there are still enough people that wear them over the face that it does matter.
Medical workers are in greater danger because they spend a lot of time near the infected population - and because if they get infected, they'll spread it on everyone.
@JohnDvorak To be fair, I won't claim they won't matter... Do keep in mind I was replying with some sarcasm to a joke ;) But I still feel there's a core of truth in my reply: If distance means you stay out of reach of each others droplets and staying home when symptomatic means you won't get hit with sneezes that go beyond that distance... masks are just like airport security.
