4:00 PM
and in theory you could do these with any larger chillis, or even bell peppers

@JourneymanGeek doesn't look tame at all

And this is another instance where the world outside of mine is so versatile.

You're just a wuss, and you're weak, and your children are weak..
@ShadowTheBurningWizard oh, those chills are there for the heat

@JourneymanGeek not for eating?
I ate whole hot pepper yesterday

4:01 PM
It was good, but that's about my limit.

I only have chicken eggs in the fridge, and other eggs are the rare treat

this is for the body, the small ones are mainly there for the kick

It was green, but tame type.

@M.A.R. IN SOVIET RUSSIA, THE ALIEN EGGS EAT YOU!

In America too
And north pole

4:02 PM
South pole?

@ShadowTheBurningWizard basically one chilly for bulk, taste and texture, one for heat - and it gives up most of that

@ShadowTheBurningWizard You're very penguinist

@ShadowTheBurningWizard oh there the polar bears eat you

@M.A.R. what troll? Evan?

@JourneymanGeek That's the north pole

4:02 PM
@M.A.R. not black enough

@M.A.R. Maybe they went south for the winter

@JourneymanGeek hmm.... you know what, when I come over to visit you, make me such a dish. Deal? :P

@ShadowTheBurningWizard No, the troll on meta.ELL
@JourneymanGeek That only happens in movies.
Maybe.

@M.A.R. who is..... ?

It did appear in . . . hmm . . . Avatar

4:03 PM
@ShadowTheBurningWizard If your country dosen't have crazy food laws... and I happen to go that way, I can probably pack some :D

@ShadowTheBurningWizard Do you really want me to name them. Check out meta.ELL if you're interested.
You're putting me in an awkward position man

@JourneymanGeek not crazy, guess you can bring in the personal bag. (The one you take with you on board :))
@M.A.R. that's because your legs are reversed, not my fault.

@ShadowTheBurningWizard there's folks in india who will pack pickles in foil bags and make fake logos so you can smuggle pickles overseas :D

@ShadowTheBurningWizard Go back to Den you wholly uncouth handsome middle-aged man!

@M.A.R. I did. Can't see any troll. I see Mari, couple of mods, and Sergey.

@JourneymanGeek Squints How do you know this? ಠ_ಠ
@πάνταῥεῖ I've had ostrich egg. It just didn't finish

@M.A.R. too boring there
Also, @Hitodama is away so I can go wild!

@M.A.R I knew somebody who knew some body who smuggled avakai into australia.

@JourneymanGeek Aha aha writes it down

4:08 PM
@JourneymanGeek but why??? lol

might have been vadumangai

Pickles are simple.

@ShadowTheBurningWizard because crazy food laws

But why smuggle? It's something any place has. No?

... No

4:09 PM
oh
Poor people

The Avakai is the paragon of mango pickles

Can't imagine life without pickles.

Prometheous may have stolen fire from the gods but...

@M.A.R. You didn't read the instructions

We copied it from people a bit further down the road

4:10 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ And so I know better as not to meddle in the affairs of wizards!
@JourneymanGeek Fair use man, copyright not included

@M.A.R. you meddle in mine, I'll meddle in yours.

First you take unripe mangos, with no fibres and cut them WITH THE SEED COAT INTACT.
Then you dry them a bit

@ShadowTheBurningWizard En garde

takes wand into hand

Wandus breakus!

4:12 PM
then you marinate them in a slurry of coarse chilli powder, salt, mustard powder (which is what seperates this from the common mango pickle)....

Haha fat chance Gandalf

Uh oh, it seems I poked something

@ShadowTheBurningWizard Mine is in short supply
Picklus illegalus Israelis!

@ShadowTheBurningWizard also tender mango pickles.

4:13 PM
@JourneymanGeek for the border security dogs or?

@M.A.R. naw

Oh I thought you were teaching us the pickle smuggle methods

@πάνταῥεῖ no, that hole was always there, all good.

No, the actual pickles

What about shawarma?

4:14 PM
I can't tell cooking shows from documentaries

also storebought pickles have a few... issues
they add citric acid like barbarians
or worse vinigar

Our pickles here are high quality™

@M.A.R. short but rapid

and there's a few pickles where there's different variations that are good

Which basically means I don't die after having them, but I have no standard to compare them to

4:15 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ harder to smuggle, it smells.

@M.A.R. clearly I should just mail you pickles at the same time that I give @ShadowTheBurningWizard some.

@JourneymanGeek These citric acid adding barbarians were very common in the 17th century

I did find a good place for Shwarma though. They even have Facebook! en-gb.facebook.com/pg/Sufra-2270530003211695/posts

@JourneymanGeek Meh, just an emoji would do
🍆

nooo
🥭

4:18 PM
Well our pickles are of higher quality then. I could never eat a white rectangle

@M.A.R. too purple

4:51 PM
@ShadowTheBurningWizard Oh thank you. This is good timing, as I've just had lunch.
Neither of my boys is remotely interested in coffee.

Yet 🤣

not yet
The eldest might be someday. For the youngest, coffee would probably make him sleepy.

5:23 PM
@KitZ.Fox That happens to me sometimes, where I just feel really tired after a cup of coffee instead of waking up like most people. I assumed it had something to do with the postprandial somnolence I get too.

In his case, I believe it would happen because I believe he might be hyperactive.
People with that kind of chemical makeup often feel sleepy with stimulants.

I see.

Can users with close-vote privileges see the reason why this post was closed? meta.stackexchange.com/q/341114
It just says it's "Off-topic" for me, which seems odd, but I don't see any sub-reason

Off-topic is a close reason.
Maybe no sub reason was given?

Every off-topic CV needs to be accompanied by a close reason

er, sub-reason

Well, it's a code question on Meta so ... ? That's probably why?

5:50 PM
It's not a code question.

Thanks @Mithical. It's a question about Stack Snippets, a feature of a few Stack Exchange sites

It's reporting a bug with a SE feature.

Oh, yes. Which is why it has a "bug" tag. Apologies.

It was closed as being only applicable to one site, although I think that's incorrect.
Snippets are available on more than SO.
Voted to reopen.

6:03 PM
@M.A.R. No doubt, the white rectangles must be Egyptian pickles. :)

6:39 PM
@ShadowTheBurningWizard Hmm, seems you're right.
@Feeds I feel like there's a missing word or punctuation in the title of this post.

@V2Blast .... this seems to be a common feeling :D

@JourneymanGeek I feel like sneaking some spiced pickle past customs is an Indian diaspora tradition :P

@V2Blast yes
or spice blends :D

@CertainPerformance IIRC, as of the recent post notices change, off-topic close reasons (or "sub-reasons") are not shown to the public (those other than the post owner and those with close/reopen privileges)
