"This account is temporarily suspended upon request"
Is this a new canned option for mod message/suspension, or did the mod use a client-side hack to allow for a custom suspension reason (which is possible)?
Never seen that before
Which is funny cause I always turn down suspension requests
@SonictheReinstateMonica-hog I don't see it in my canned options
As far as I'm aware, it's possible to fudge the request to allow for any mod to put anything they want in the short public reason.
September through May loves to make me suffer.
Which is why I'm up posting at three in the morning. Wheeee.
No, winter.
I'm sick all winter every year without fail.
So here I am, sipping tea with honey all night.

@SonictheReinstateMonica-hog Partial answer.
A different person also suspended their account, due to illness. That was almost a year ago, possibly on Workplace.SE.
Some... really odd close votes in the queue just now...

Okay, this is not cool...I just spotted that a user has gone through and close-voted a lot of past posts from staff as "not seeking input and discussion".
If y'all can fill me in. I'll see what I can do later. Home and sleep first 😴
TL;DR: folks abusing close votes to VTC old highly voted staff posts, presumably as a form of revenge
Bleh. Seems kinda childish :/

“A lot” = 3
3 too many 🤣

Everybody gets Review Audits, and we don't know if those are genuine review spam, an audit, or someone thinks that they are OT because things have changed after so many years. Meta doesn't notify if you pass or fail, if you fail you get more, if you pass they are handed out occasionally. Sometimes a single dissenter is correct, usually not. It was less than a month ago that I complained about a site recommendation being hammered ...

@Rob What I was referring to wasn't the suspension itself, but a technicality behind it.

✔️
If you compare the suspension text is different on main and meta for that user.

@bobobobo did you want to reignite discussion about threaded comments on all sites or only specific ones?
I see them as mainly useful for the metas but idk about main sites
the original question is unclear on this
maybe I should post a more specific one
I wanted to know what you meant first
10:50
hey
the wheel of blame gone?
lol somehow it was the top result in my history despite the fact I haven't seen it for years
funny enough

@IamMonica nah my soul runs DOS, no Windows
@nic is that you?!
Where's Elsa?!
12:20
this is me indeed :)
@Mast Happens a lot. Vague chewing noises
@JourneymanGeek Yea, people don't read before posting.
@Mast Lol I mean it's literally most of what I did before Monica was removed as a mod :/
Good times
@JourneymanGeek Usually I only keep an eye out on CR, but with the amount of crap on MSE lately...
12:35
@Mast to be entirely blunt, that's actually a lot less work than "Should this stay or should this go? Does this actually cross the line?" ;p

At least it's given people whom are on top of it an extra 100+ reviews this past month. A fair number seem to be review audits (and not for me). Here's one?, I haven't reviewed that queue for 10 hours yet it says there's one review that needs doing (must be an audit, it's not a skip):
@Rob well, when we see it, there's not so much space for reviews ;p
Rob
Rob
You mean having done 5 already it's not giving me another, to spread it around?
lol
I mean, I deal with most of the stuff I see through the queues or on the site
I ain't got time for reviews :D
Rob
Rob
It looks like it targeted Sonic, because it won't let me have it. Reviews can be extra work for moderators because other people should be doing them (to reduce your workload) and if you do them every vote is a hammer (so you need to skip edge cases).
12:46
Yup
and the flag queue is our main queue
and there's a lot of work there, some of which is a little emotionally exhausting.
Every now and then you get something straightforward and you can go "Ah hah! BEGONE FOUL TROLL! BACK TO THE DEPTHS FROM WHICH THOU CAME!" and not worry much about the fallout.
but the lines are pretty blur these days
Rob
Rob
On some sites the flag queue is jammed, on others your glad to get one a week just to have something to do.
@Rob well there was a monumental backlog
and not all flags are the same
some take half a second. Some take 30
Sometimes, you just have no idea what to do
And of course deciding between whether something is rude or abusive, or is useful critique, or gaslighting or....
is sometimes really hard

Rob
Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes a lot of investigation and consulting Policy; only to find it's an edge case barely supporting denial, then there's the Appeal.
Chat flags are the easiest (I don't get them on this server but I do on the other two). Infrequent too.
Yup, and if its one of mine, even if it seems obvious, I don't deal with it or go beyond "Hey, can someone review my decision?"
I only do here and chat.se

oh joy. My office PC freezes up when I do private windows on my browser for some reason
and that corrupted my email folder. Again
for the second time in 2 days
grumble
And it only seems to happen at work
I suppose private activities will have to wait until at home then
or use a cellphone
14:21
Yup
Or there is some issue with my browser

Don't blame your ISP when your backup is eating all your bandwidth. Whoops!.
