There was a popcorn moment just now

Too late, Smokey got it all.
!!/popcorn

@Shadow No such command 'popcorn'.

No way
Proof that Smokey ate all the popcorn:
Talking about popcorn, and Cereal appears. Can't be coincidence. :P

@Shadow I think that's just smokey popping the corn for us

@Stevoisiak but it's already a popcorn, not just corn. ;)
I like burnt popcorn, to some extent. No fully black.

4:13 PM
@Shadow Because they just popped it for us

hmm

🍿
Thanks smokey!

lol
!!/blame

@Shadow It's user58's fault.

As always.
Can change name tomorrow. Found avatar, hope it will fit. Cya!

@Shadow I posted an answer agreeing that A/B is not a good design for what information they hope to collect. Half the people can't see the other, how do they compare the two side-by-side (without their socks on).

eh, i'd assume they're just looking at the askers, to determine whether or not the change improves their actions after the post is closed.
What everyone else sees is mostly irrelevant

Rob
I'd need to SEDE to see if people whom usually ask have lower reputation (and time on the site) than people whom usually flag (or take other actions on the post); before I advanced such a hypothetical as a reply.

@TylerH point taken. we will be talking internally about releasing a list of changes. Won't happen today though (and was not something that was going to hold up this launch) — Yaakov Ellis ♦ 2 hours ago
Meta needs the specifics. Blog posts don't. I get the feeling that people that work at Stack Overflow haven't internalized what meta is.

"we're changing the post notices, but we're not going to show you the changes. If you're in the control group, and you happen upon the changes, you'll see them."

@GeorgeStocker Meta is the scary site with evil people that employees need to be protected from, right?

@Rob flag info (in the votes table) is lacking a userid so you won't get that from SEDE.

I ended up giving up on the frustrating gofundme donation process and donating via paypal directly instead
now gofundme doesn't get their 10% fee. A lesson in not making it too difficult

@mag Set the tip to Other and then enter 0

mag
that wasn't the problem

@SmokeDetector Hey!

mag
the problem was they don't take my debit card. And I don't have a credit card

Rob
@rene Thanks, I just had an unsuccessful series of searches. I do know some whom ask and answer but generally it's the answers both upvoted more frequently and gaining double the reputation that makes answerers higher reputation than askers (though in rare cases the reverse is true). Thanks for your expert advice.

@JourneymanGeek you'll have to update this meta.stackexchange.com/questions/333965/…

Rob
It would be a great new feature if it were possible to have the userid present but hidden and allow queries which returned over 999 userids to randomly select half the users and use them to answer the query. --- Example "What percentage of users named Rob (or even provide specific userids) flagged specific post" (now that's being invasive) but if there were 1000 Robs and 500 were randomly selected one wouldn't know which Rob flagged the specific post. - But it would answer the question.

@Rob Then you'd just get more 1 user to run it
And you'd eventually end up with a full set

Rob
5:45 PM
A set of 500 unidentified users. At best one could say people within the group tend to do something (or don't do it). For example Tezos.SE has 870 users (but let's call it 1000), so you could run a query on all of Tezos users (without userid) and receive an answer comprised from data using 50% of the users (randomly selected). Doing that 1000 times still wouldn't identify the specific action of a specific person.
Even using a sliding window there would still need to be 999 or more people in the returned group (of which 50% would be randomly chosen) so you'd always have to have a large enough number of hidden usersids returned to the randomize function for it to randomly select 50% of them (and renumber them user_1-50%*x.

But also self employed, so probably charge per case... and a lot. lol
I generally agree, but if Monica's legal action comes to fruition I do not envy any of the lawyers involved. They deserve every penny they bill
Imagine having to explain, in writing, what's been going on here to a 70yo judge who has a joint E-Mail account with his wife & who was introduced to Facebook by his grandchildren two years ago 😁😁

In that case start the judge on law.se for a good laugh ...

7:39 PM
Never know... Peter Thiel could show up and donate. That would be interesting.

@DavidA Sure, if you want StackExchange to get sold to a private equity firm

8:03 PM
Note: the bad keyword is "muscles"

8:19 PM
this place quieted down

*yawns* shh, I'm sleeping

!!/coffee @user58
aaand I did it wrong

!!/coffee

@user58 brews a cup of Cappuccino for @user58

probably better to go to sleep instead of caffeinating TBH

8:30 PM
sleep is a made up construct

Shhh. It's the only way we ever get folks off the internet.

at this point me saying I'm going to sleep is probably just a cue for people to laugh and say "yeah right"

Minnesota goodbye

mag
where you hover around the exit for 3 hours

Right, right ... anyway, time to get going.

8:44 PM
going where?

@Rubiksmoose at this point I'd say continued engagement is useless

@Shog9 you skip the snow? It's 12F up here in Denver

@user58 Thanks. honestly initial engagement was useless against this particular user, but I just couldn't resist the bite.

Yeah... I kinda felt the same way.
Also, at least make a public response so that it doesn't look like he can go off without being called on it.

9:03 PM
Ai is a known issue. And I've had runins before.

mag
how'd you come up with rubiksmoose
that is a clever name and avatar combo

@Rubiksmoose Yep. I'm... familiar with him.

@Shog9 what's wrong with MN :)

One more delete vote needed here @rene @Shadow

done

9:16 PM
@mag thanks! It was actually something that came up in highschool. A combination of one of my hobbies back then and a bastardisation of one of my (nick)names.
And someone in RPG chat kindly made my avatar for me :)

9:36 PM
From the same user this answer
You're slow Smokey

9:59 PM
@Bart 5 minute delay

1 hour later…
11:09 PM
@Nobody I went to bed shortly after 🤣

11:56 PM
