@balpha Shiny

It's Magic!

@balpha What do the letters say?

click on them

Or mouse over
I do like the idea of letting people advertise a particular aspect of their activity in their userbox, like if you're particularly proud of editing a lot you can wear that hat

@balpha Oh. Duh. Thanks. :/

@Fezziwig You're boring. It's not philosophy. It's hatshatshatshatshatshatshatshatshatshats

@balpha Well, they're sadly temporary, which curbs my enthusiasm a bit :)

Wow, those hats are a great idea
You guys are having too much fun with the gaming site :)
Heh. "Freehand halo" for 1 upvoted question or answer on meta.gaming.

I don't understand much of the way your government works, but my impression was that the house wasn't expected to be in session again until after new year. Fantastic.

3:38 PM
@JeremyBanks Wait....what? How is that even possible?
They all seriously agreed to come back while everyone else would likely be on vacation so they could screw us all? Seriously, what reprehensible human beings.

Wow! The Gaming.SE "seasonal web site" is cool.
Who is behind this? I'm thinking @Jin, @balpha or both.

<_<
>_>
the evil genius behind it is David
I don't know who had the original idea

I'll take credit, if it helps. I had nothing to do with it, but.

Fullerton

Cool. Great work.

Has been there the case of a launched site that didn't have a strong community to select its community moderators? What happens in those cases, and after how much time from the launch of the site?
What happens if there is a proposal that could accept questions from that site, and questions about a similar topic too? Would the launched site be merged with the proposal?
Would not be useful, if the search could accept options like "user:kiamlaluno" instead of "user:me" or "user:[user-id]"?
Supposing somebody would want to search for a post created from a user for which he remembers only part of the username, having to use the user ID is more difficult.

8:02 PM
@kiamlaluno Since usernames aren't unique that poses a bit of a problem

Oh, a snowman.

@kiamlaluno Healthcare IT was having trouble finding even pro tem mods, if I recall.

@TimStone It's not a problem, if I don't remember who asked a question, but I want to find who asked a specific question.
@TimStone That is bad, but it is better than having a launched site, with 10k users, that cannot probably continue.

Ah, you did say launched site, I missed that. I don't think there's been a case yet where that's been an issue, although some sites have had pretty limited turnouts for moderator elections.

@TimStone I was trying to look for an account created from a user who had another account. The problem is that he changed the avatar associated with that account, and the username is too generic that matches too much users. I thought to search for migrated questions, but I don't know the user ID.
I reported that on Drupal Answers, but nothing has been done, also because the account on Stack Overflow cannot be touched from DA's moderators. :-)

8:11 PM
How would searching for migrated questions help in that case?

OK, one last question: Is it possible for moderators to merge two unregistered accounts?
@TimStone It would help, as the question was migrated from SO to DA.
So, I am looking for a migrated question asked from "Benjamin."
I could use the question title, though. Migrated questions don't have their title changed after the migration.
The problem is also that migrated questions are deleted from the original site, after X days.
In fact, searching for the title doesn't return the question I am looking for.

@kiamlaluno No. The procedure is: user registers one, the other gets merged into it.

@NineShogsShogging Yeah, I thought of that when I thought that the unregistered account doesn't have an OpenID account associated. What should be done with a user that asked a question with an unregistered account, and then adds an answer that is really an edit for the question with another unregistered account?

@kiamlaluno Tell 'im if he registers he won't keep losing his account, and this'll all get a lot easier.

Bad grammar from my side. :-) I should take a note: Don't ask questions between 9:00 pm to 10 pm.
(I wonder what a shog is.)

8:47 PM
It was too easy, if Mac had pear installed too.

9:16 PM
@ThePGRepMiningCo Glad it helped :)
