@M.A.R. you stop that right now!

Heads up, the new FAQ-ish post I'm composing is really, really long
With title: "What is a FAQ?"
@MetaAndrewT. My preference would be "What the FAQ!"
12:22
> Pages 7
Words 2509
Characters 15257
Characters excluding spaces 12858
As of now. 60 percent done, almost.
I do wonder if it'd be more helpful if I post multiple answers so I could create something like a Table of Contents under the post
Maybe pastebin or gist first...
I have a Google Docs thing now
I treat it as some sort of notepad since I type in markdown as I would do in a post draft
Once it's done, it's gonna be copy and paste
Here. Don't touch it.
Fitting in with the death-related meta metaphors
13:17
@M.A.R. But I want to touch it!
Can I give an opinion here? :)

It is obvious a dead give away that my answer is insincere. I guess asking how to make it less so on Writers.se would not be appreciated. Or I have hit the right tone as I just learned from @M.A.R. work in progress ...
@M.A.R. I would really like SE to implement an anchor feature in posts.
you need an anchor feature in Common Mark first then. Good Luck.
@M.A.R. one thing you might add or think about is does a meta question really need to be about posts and/or behavior you're personally involved in. If an OP that posts on meta with examples or a line of thought that doesn't from start seem to be just/mainly beneficial to them there is a greater chance the topic is better received.

@rene I think that'd automatically just happen more or less if they stop posting when they're emotional. To think of it more abstractly, like a method for posting a question, is probably harder and require some meta fu.
@Tinkeringbell Sure, that's exactly why I posted it here!
It's gonna probably end up CW after all, after I've farmed some rep from it
@M.A.R. but I always forget that when I'm furious ....
@M.A.R. I'd make it more about what to do, than what not to do... that way it's less likely to be used as yet another cudgel.
@rene The Forgetful and The Furious?
@Tinkeringbell Hmm, I didn't weigh them thoroughly, I just started writing the post. Right in the beginning, I inspected both options but found what-to-do much harder to classify
It's also probably less useful since people come up with excuses why their scenario differs and a proposed template wouldn't apply, while we can be more explicit about what not to do.
Yeah, I didn't say that would be easy :P
I aim the post to be as impartial as possible. People who know nothing better than to misinterpret to validate their own feelings will do so anyway.
Heck, they find @rene's average comment as enough evidence.
17:48
I dunno... reading it just now made me feel like there's apparently a whole list of things I should never ever do, but there's nothing I can do ;) It's probably also a personal preference thing ;)
I think there is a very Eepsy thing to your train of thought
It doesn't matter to me either way, I just want the post to be practical, since practical is what meta's guidance has been missing
Especially, the die-trying post starts to delve into actually useful information, but ends up refraining
@Mithrandir the rare thing we agree on
What would probably be awesome is a Further Reading section in the end but I suck at those.
@M.A.R. Perhaps. Though I don't think I can scientifically back that up.

Alright, hang on.
Practicality does pose a problem here. Where do I post it? Meta.SE would be logical since the post applies to all metas in general, but meta.SO is more accessible to a bigger percentage of people that need to read it

@M.A.R. or the sneaky approach
Post there, drop a link here and hope someone posts a linked question on main meta
22:54
@rene and for SE to actually implement commonmark rather than multiple markdown dialects
