Nice hack to edit and leave closed -- In Review Queue: click title, edit, back, and click leave closed; only related choice on menu was "reopen and edit" which wasn't what was needed.

batch of two: Facebook, Google Sheets @Bart @rene @Glorfindel

@Shree those two were not mods when the question was closed

@Shree They became mods after. It still shows the diamond next to all their previous close votes

@Shree they were not mods at the time of CV

Both elected on 2019, question closed in 2018

Got it. Thanks.

wow, got ninja'd due to laggy connection :D

hehe @Mag was the fastest
oh wait, I was
But he wrote more, so we're even, IMO. ;)

@ShaWiz you even ninja'd yourself :O

lol

spammer on the roll... site with no active mods?

7:33 AM
@Stormblessed this? Didn't see anything that can trigger any smoke alert. ;)
oh.... on Arqade... badass might indeed trigger Smokey when posted by low rep user.

bad dum ass
(wrong sound effect...)

> Would not be caught as a question.

anyway, it's not a problem even if Smokey reported it...

Low Quality A (55.6%): THIS IS AN ALL-CAPITAL ANSWER TO CHECK BOT DETECTION ON THE CHAT. BUMP!, by Andrew T., on meta.stackexchange.com.

7:49 AM
hmm... not sure if mods have super downvote for spam/rude flag... -1 went to -3 with a single binding flag...

@MetaAndrewT. maybe flag and manual downvote.
(so anyone can cast two downvotes this way, in a way.)

well, 3 times, I downvoted a nonsense answer from 0 to -1, then 3 times I flagged them as abusive and all went to -3
or.... ah... yeah.. pending automatic VLQ flag
anyway, first time destroying a user... tasted like boneless chicken...

@MetaAndrewT. didn't know lack of bones affects taste. ;)

8:22 AM
No bones means it dries out more

Derp.
Where is he (?), BTW? @Sha

y.
(gahhh, ninjo'd)

Yes. You better wait until the master of jokes is done spreading his articulate wisdom.

@Marshmallow he... backed off
He's here.

12:10 PM
free download, free virus on the side.

@MetaAndrewT. Reminds me of the Bruce Lee movie where the guy tries to fight Bruce Lee and ninjas himself, @Sha maybe you remember which one, I couldn't find the clip but there's this similar one: youtube.com/watch?v=l8xk2AKT02Q

@Rob I didn't watch lots of those movies to be honest, and pretty much forgot those I've seen since it was all over 20 years ago. o_O
;)

Rob
They (Kung Fu movies) used to be popular in the '70's later being resurrected in the form of video games.

Think they were also popular here when I was a kid, so I did watch some.
(in the single TV channel we had in the 80's)
The only related game I played was Super Fighter, on a PC with DOS.
The game had only two female fighters, one "good" and one as a boss, but both REALLY strong.
guh... want to play it again...

Rob

Now that most of the weapons are illegal in many parts of the world the popularity seems to have died down. Ninja Balls are still popular.
^ She looks talented.

Pro-tip: don't ever confuse "ballroom" and "ball pit". While the group might enjoy a little impromptu childish fun, they won't be dressed up for it.

Ninja Balls are not what I expected.
:P

Rob
Yes, a lot of work went into making that corny video.

1:18 PM
Mostly remembered Jackie, not so much Bruce Lee...

Talking about blasts from the past... for me it's no doubt Nikita.
I had ALL chapters on VCR tapes.

is this Gameboy Advance?
This screen could fit just fine on a GBA.

@JohnDvorak nope. PC/DOS/VGA

Hmm... DOSBOX for GBA?

I think... that's what I had, and it looks 100% the same.

1:25 PM
VHS / BetaMax/ Video 2000 ?

@JohnDvorak don't think so, looks like screenshot from the original game, on actual old PC.
Might be DosBOX though.

or 3'5" floppy disk

"actual old PC" - hot damn.

@MetaAndrewT. Sure, I had it too
@JohnDvorak what?

VHS / BetaMax/ Video 2000 ?

I mean, it's rare to find a DOS machine that still works and wasn't built for/by a retro fan.

but wth is Video 2000...

Video 2000 (also known as V2000, with the tape standard Video Compact Cassette, or VCC) is a consumer videocassette system and analogue recording standard developed by Philips and Grundig to compete with JVC's VHS and Sony's Betamax video technologies. Designed for the PAL colour television standard (some models additionally handled SECAM), distribution of Video 2000 products began in 1979 exclusively in Europe, South Africa and Argentina and ended in 1988.Video 2000 was presented at the International Radio Exhibition in Berlin in 1979 and succeeded Philips's earlier Video Cassette Recording (VCR...
TIL

@MetaAndrewT. yeah, internet is not at its best here

figured ;p

1:31 PM
@JohnDvorak true, but people surely took screenshots even back in the 90's and kept them somewhere. :)

I have pictures from 2005, maybe even 2000.

My photo gallery on my laptop is exactly as old as that laptop. It works rather well.

I wonder if 2 users with an answer on a particular question could chain bounties on it into perpetuity

Technically not? We'd most likely handle it as targeted voting after a few iterations, unless they're also generously awarding bounties to other users/answers :P

1:43 PM
@Magisch that's what I thought... 2 users can theoretically have infinite bounty

@Magisch chain? Meaning start and award to one another?

What if I post a "not enough attention" bounty on a Q. I obviously can't award it to my own answer, and if no new one is posted in the alotted time, I can just give it to the only other answer
which if the other person also does that it could become endless

Once is fine, but when it's more then it means they bump the question while spending 0 rep which is abuse.

Mhm

1:45 PM
@MetaAndrewT. well when it's sock it's obviously and utterly wrong.
When it's two legit, different, users, it becomes less obvious.

Well, it'd be funny (& super suspicious) if 2 users have less than 600 rep but +10000 bounties

Rob
Nikita was a great show, the director has made a new movie (Anna) based on the old TV series (and ruined it).

@MetaAndrewT. no doubt
@Rob yeah. I just now realized the original TV show was new when I first saw it. For some reason thought it's much older (i.e. from the 80's or early 90's)
I was in the army back then so recorded all the chapters on VCR.
lifehacks.stackexchange.com/a/21121/1399 obvious trolling, dangerous advice.
I might try to become mod there just so I can nuke those trolls.
Currently two low rep candidates so I have a real chance, will wait a bit to see if any "big guns" will nominate, in which case won't interfere.

2:11 PM
I like james jenkins, definitely a capable mod

@Magisch who? oh, one of the candidates?

@ShaWiz ya
he's a mod on pets

Yeah, noticed.
That's weird. Can a suspended user change their display name?
I can swear the name was different a while ago.
Not that it matters... just curious.

@ShaWiz please do

@MetaAndrewT. well, it means I'll spend less time on MSE :/
(I think? I'll have to spend more on LH)
Actually, James got better chance anyway since he's already a mod. We'll see.

Rob
2:26 PM
@ShaWiz I flagged it VLQ because it was an almost identical copy of another answer, with the addition of two childish comments to themself.

@JL2210 oh hey, you can edit this answer now.
Sorry for not understanding what you meant earlier. :)
Since it's CW you don't even need a review process to edit.

@Stormblessed ehh. It's worth noteing a lot of sites redirect to https - there's no real point in editing say a Wikipedia link
With images it makes sense cause mixed content sucks
