Sounds like termination of employment there wouldn't be such a bad thing

Oh... it's National Pancakeday! Guess I have to start replanning dinner.

get stroopwafel instead

Pancake with stroopwafel... that doesn't sound lik a terrible idea :P

but why the pancake when you can just have more stroopwafel

Because it's Pancakeday.
pure stroopwafels are for stroopwafelday
World stroopwafelday is september 30th ;)
Today is also World Water day, and goof off day.
Perhaps we should stick with TGIF ;)

12:02 PM
Every day is day of the mint
its mint o clock too, the perfect time to make a fresh can of mint tea

Hahaha enjoy :)
How many cans have you had by now?

Hey, I don't want to start a rollback war, therefore I am asking first, whether this questions last sentence is ok or not: meta.stackexchange.com/posts/325115/revisions

While I appreciate everyone's effort in helping IñakiViggers write an answer that may possibly be more well-received, if they really want to say it this way, we should let them. So please leave the post as it is for now. — Tinkeringbell ♦ Mar 14 at 12:33

@Tinkeringbell this will be the 6th 1L can since yesterday

No stomach cramps yet? :)

12:08 PM
@Tinkeringbell Ooops, didn't read. Good that I asked ;)

only thirst for yet more mint tea

Wait, should the question tags be shown for answers under suggested edit review?

@MEEthesetupwizard You're welcome :)

@Tinkeringbell does that mean that we can call each other pancakes?

@Mithrandir Of course not, pancake!
@Magisch Sounds good :)

12:11 PM
its spearmint

Please have this GIF of a cat eating pancakes. All I ask is for you to have it, not to enjoy it.

Hahaha those are really thick pancakes.

Hey! :(

12:27 PM
That stack of pancakes has more body mass then the kitten eating it

Oops, I broke something.
I didn't expect it would work to add a mod-only tag as a proposed synonym.
Please downvote the [featured] synonym proposal to remove it ;)
^ And I wonder where I have the score of 5 needed from, I didn't answer any currently featured post

Done one better, deleted it ;)

Thanks
I better go away so that I don't break more.

@MEEthesetupwizard Nah, don't be sad. :)
I'm not really supposed to touch tag synonyms either ;)

makes sense

12:35 PM
@MEEthesetupwizard Merging special tags on meta is a great way for things to break

@MEEthesetupwizard Ah right, I am supposed to have a score of 5 on the tag I am proposing the synonym for.

Hi, I stumbled upon an interesting output in SEDE...too early to call it a bug though, so I wished to ask for second opinion here. I wrote a query to get percentage of AC answers per month for a user. Problem is that it is revealing two accepted answers for a single answer post for a user. Here is the particular output. Notice the month April'18, with AC%age as 200%!
I manually queried their total number of answers and it seems to be just one
What is happening here then? Also, I am not querying deleted posts, so I have no idea what is happening. Is it a bug?

user302202
@GaurangTandon Inconsistent grouping in the query. Accepted answers are grouped by creation date of the question. All answers are grouped by the answer creation date.

oh that fixed it..nice thanks @MSOGA !

> My manager at my last job consistently gave me mediocre ratings, made fun of me (!!!), and told me that my aspirations were out of my reach. Now I'm running the design team at Stack Overflow. :D -- Kristina 🎉 at 6:12 AM - 22 Mar 2019

user302202
I don't really know what message to take out of this, when considering left bar, right bar, the state of responsiveness and so forth.

@MSOGA I had the opportunity to see some of Kristina's work in the mentorship experiment and I've always found her to be helpful knowledgeable and good at what she did. Limited exposure I know but there's no reason to believe she doesn't know what she's doing

2:12 PM
@MSOGA that sounds like maybe some day I could work there ;)

always jobs for dogs around

Also, its probably one of the hardest jobs in the industry - simply cause its high profile, and you have a peanut gallery yelling at you
And UX is hard

@JourneymanGeek UX may be, design ... meh :P

@Tinkeringbell eh, kinda

I could design stuff. I won't promise that it's good, useable or offers any kind of user experience though :P

2:15 PM
Well Design is art. Ux is science

Also... running a team is an entirely different skill set again ;)

I'm personally really bad at UX design

I can turn business requirements into code and even come up with simplified procedures that work better and optimize workflows. But all my UI's are winforms era type "old guy with rimmed glasses" affairs

I just drag-and-drop another usercontrol from the toolbar on the form and call it a day. How hard can it be...

2:17 PM
I respectfully leave the UI design to our graphic designer

@Tinkeringbell I'd actually say a lot of the pushback over SE design was about communication as much as design ;p

@JourneymanGeek And programmers are usually pretty bad at it, too.

@JourneymanGeek Probably :)

"Oh, it needs to do this? Here's another button."

that is me ...

2:17 PM
I almost think the person building the backend logic should never be the one to design the UX/UI

(also cough early SE design was done by devs ;p)

And then you end up with an interface that looks like it belongs in Dwarf Fortress.

because you become so familiar with your own code, you lack the perspective of an outsider

@fbueckert .... which they are re-releasing with actual graphics....

@JourneymanGeek After....how long?

2:19 PM
@Magisch on the other hand, that's just as true for us as users ;p

And, it should be noted, it's not the original devs doing the graphical interface.

well yeah but the effect is extra strong if I wrote the thing

@fbueckert something something filthy casuals, something something... ;p

I know all of its quirks and oddities - they sometimes dont even seem like oddities to me

The way I describe it is, "I can make a computer do whatever you need. Hop on one corner? No problem. Spin around until it catches fire? Okay, sounds like fun. But no matter what I make it do, it won't look pretty."

2:21 PM
I'm eternally grateful we have a unified UI styling in our company

I'm getting better at it, but there's still lots to learn.
Now my forms only look like half dead zombies, instead of, "Ahh, no! Kill it kill it kill it!" zombies.

We should stop asking people questions. Rewrite the ask a question wizard to be a series of recaptcha-style tiles. Click everything that looks related to your problem!

Hopefully there will be fewer software recs questions.

user302202
I don't think there were many hardware recs questions to begin with, but Hardware Recommendations might get an uptick of questions due to sheer size disparity.

What % of questions are asked by <111 rep users?

user302202
I guess over 50%

Very conservative

user302202
SEDE gives 33420 questions asked by 111+ rep users in March (incl. deleted), vs 114713 overall. Some have acquired rep after asking, of course.

user302202
By this count, 29% of questions came from currently 111+ rep users. I guess it's 75-25 split between under-over 111.

Like what triggers it and how often?

At some point you've got to admire their persistence.

@scohe001 I expect any page that is fetched by a browser that offers cookies that belongs to a user causes Last seen to be updated but I expect the view to only get a new value every 15 minutes.

Is there a need to reconcile the clinical dispassion of content curation against the empathy of the welcome wagon? /sip

@rene is there some secret behind these expectations? :P I'm trying to figure out if it's worth asking on MSE or if it's already well documented

user302202
In vino veritas, also written as in uino ueritas, is a Latin phrase that means "in wine lies the truth", suggesting a person under the influence of alcohol is more likely to speak their hidden thoughts and desires. The phrase is sometimes continued as, "In vino veritas, in aqua sanitas", i.e., "In wine there is truth, in water there is health." Similar phrases exist across cultures and languages. The expression, together with its counterpart in Greek, "Ἐν οἴνῳ ἀλήθεια" (En oinōi alētheia), is found in Erasmus' Adagia, I.vii.17. Pliny the Elder's Naturalis historia contains an early allusion to...

@scohe001 it is kept a secret as revealing too much might make it easier to gain the fanatic badge.
but plenty of last seen MSE posts already. I doubt another one will be useful

Thanks!

Or you must have an really interesting twist on that topic.

@rene I wonder why you decided to review this as Close (site-specific). To me, it seems like an on-topic site recommendation; the initial statements that the author asked somewhere where it was deemed off-topic don't make the question closeable.

sure

11:18 PM
@SonictheWizardWerehog the question is literally unanswerable though
And I think we can let people review without questioning individual reviews

@JourneymanGeek I was just wondering why they thought it was site-specific.
Also, "this question is not suitable for any site" is an acceptable answer to a site recommendation question.

No need to wonder, just believe on your own.
And close/reopen vote queue.
