@Shog9 In a July 2013 podcast, you mentioned a feature where if questions that are "popular" get closed, it sends an email to the team. Back in October 2013, this used to generate a revision entry "A notice was sent to community@stackexchange.com about a popular question being closed." Today, on the question histories where this entry used to show, it no longer shows. Does this feature still exist?
@JourneymanGeek I just happened to recall this question posted under my old account, and as it was the first time I've browsed it with 10k+ rep I saw animuson's deleted answer, on which a comment links to the podcast.
@EKons my workplace is probably on a better scale with non-odorous calamity. True though, when the auto-timer air freshener was set, many complained instead of appreciating it. Other than that, delicious smell from the pantry...

@rene Well, I think that when the files were moved SharePoint just created some FOLDERS with the same names as the original libraries - after all, you can't have a library inside another library.
When those folders were moved back, they were left as is: simple folders, no longer libraries.
Now, since SharePoint site collection internal "file system" structure allows you to add files/folder wherever you want, even where it doesn't make sense at all....
the final result is that now the site root contains some unneeded folders that aren't normally accessible thru the standard UI.
Also, the simple existence of those folders means that it is now impossible to create libraries with those names (a library is backed by a folder by the same name, but if that folder already exist ... creation crash)

I was wondering... about the package distribution servers.
Am I right in my understanding that most of the update work is manual right? Meaning there is somewhere a poor cursed soul (or more than one probably) whose purpose on this world is to go around and update outdated packages in the repository?
@Derpy Not an expert, but it looks like the update process is driven by package maintainers for a particular distro, so it's not that centralized. E.g., Packaging Teams at wiki.debian.org/Teams

I realize this may take delicate wording, but why are all the personal questions on the developer wording forcing me to declare my person as an identity?
I get that it's census data, and I understand what an identity is, and respect it, but there are easier ways to word it than to adopt terminology that now alienates other people.
so... all of these "identity" questions are automatically linked to the profile?... well, I... hope they can get satisfying data, if they decide to link them to... I dunno, flagged comments?

otherwise everyone could set up a network of "badge donors" where you complete the survey but give your claim-badge link to somebody else instead :P (not sure if that's possible, btw)
But I don't see what possibly good a massive amount of badges for surveys could do. If you're gonna have a badge to show off, it should at least be gold
They gave everyone who had earned any Documentation badge a silver badge whihc seemed odd
At that rate they should've given those who earned all possible Documentation badges while it was live a gold badge, IMO
that never happened though :-(
It's also annoying that they removed that whole section of badges from the badges page and meanwhile the old analytical badge which is in the same camp (can't earn it anymore) is still sitting there with only "retired" next to it in parentheses
@andmyself Well, if your data contributes positively to diversity percentages, there is no problem. Otherwise... more ammo for Twitter, for SO.blog, for Welcoming initiative (tiny black feet next time?). A reason enough for me not to participate in the survey.

because the browser has to keep a thread ready for every resource that is waiting to be loaded by each of those scripts? I/O resources are not unlimited and are not for free ...
so, I wish I had a 2K screen, a better CPU, 16 gigs of RAM and 2TB of SSD (better keep the GPU low because how the heck am I going to cope with the overheating when an external fan at full speed doesn't even work with what I currently have in the summer when left on for many hours)
