going to post a self answer on SharePoint. Not really useful for many users, but since I actually went as far as to look at the source code to understand why this "bug" happens may at well document my finding there.

At least it could provide me 20-30 reps point if I'm lucky.

@Rob I use a GoPro Hero 7 Black, that stays mounted on my bicycle helmet until I want to snap a photo. I leave HDR on.

The Sun is coming out as three colors, and blowing out everything; especially the foreground details.

I'll see if there's an inexpensive graduated ND for that camera.

I know that setting the id is not a "smart" thing to do, but sometime you are not given other options.

My post was a warning to those who will come and have to set the ID, not a ward against doing it.
