Shift the tablet over a bit, then delete

Y'all are about as helpful as the whole apple franchise :P

We do what we can't

@AnneDaunted I've since edited in the criteria for my answer, which your previous answer did not meet. Not only was I looking for official, but I was also looking for something that summarized it rather than simply quoting laws, such as the relevant section in the FAQ on why the worldwide age-13 restriction exists.

3:34 PM
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog enough with the official answer crap.

Lots of folks know how to search meta

@Shog9 Right, sorry.

Myth #1: there is such a thing as official opinion of the StackExchange community manager team.
Corollary to myth #1: said opinion will be always adhered to by the community manager team, all other moderators and even high-ranking regular users ("10ks")

Myth #2: the one who wrote some legal document got any idea what's actually written in it.

You mean lawyers?

Or those who copy and paste some template, only changing names. :)

GDPR is tricky. There is apparently a case to be made that it applies to EU citizens abroad as well, in which case restricting age to 16 for likely EU users only isn't sufficient. Fun stuff.

point is, we already discussed all this back in May; the information is out there, it doesn't take an employee to reiterate it. Shooting folks down who try to help because of who they are vs. what they wrote is anathema to what we do here.
You wanna argue we should have a separate section of the ToS for every tiny EU country that wants to have their own local law? Go ahead & post a feature-request. But don't be passive-aggressive about it & don't attack other folks who are just trying to help.

Well, Tim gave Sonic what he wanted. We can all rest now. Or go back to what we did before. :D

still not cool. Anne took time to write a good answer and got slapped for it. That's not something I'm happy about.,

And that a day after they got rid of harassment ...

Anyways... I'd like to coin the acronym MoM = Mod on MSE

3:47 PM
But MoooooM!

exactly

no, Nope, NO WAY. Go find another :P

+1 for MoM

On the other hand, the phrase "a mom" might trigger religious conservatives and anti-LGBTs in general.

Okay. My abrasive English is clearly not up to date. Explain?

3:50 PM
mispronounce "imam"

That's a whole lot of mispronunciation... Or 'imam' is said really differently in English
People can use the mom then :P

lotta different accents. But... Also not a very good joke

I was thinking of lesbian families raising children - which would result in the phrase "one of my moms" being used often
Joke withdrawn

heh. That's way too much indirection for me this early in the morning.
oh, and you meant "trigger" as in "trigger warning"

yep

3:53 PM
not "incite"

*checks watch* 6PM is early morning for Shog. *files information away for purposes that are in no way nefarious*

cough time zones cough

cross-checks xkcd/time

@Mithrandir Congrats, you've narrowed their location down to about 6 timezones ;)

Pretty sure I could narrow it down more... :P

Reminder that chat shows a helpful graph of when folks are active covering data from the past couple weeks...

Alaska seems like the best fit, given only the information above and the assumption that he lives on a major body of land.

To paraphrase the old yellowpages ads... Let your fingers do the stalking.

Whatever the location, any time is Shog time.

*opens Shog's chat profile* Ah, so that's what the R'lyeh timezone is. No wonder Cthulhu wasn't answering my phone calls, I was calling at midnight!

The place where today was tomorrow yesterday 10 meters away.

4:00 PM
Non-Euclidean geometry, Non-Einstienean time...

It's worse than that. It's timezones, man.
> Just when you thought two digits would suffice for a timezone offset, we've come to prove you wrong. Because why not?

@JohnDvorak I talk about my two dads on occasion...

4:21 PM
Wasn't that a sitcom? "My two dads" ...

You mean 2.5 men? Those weren't married.

My Two Dads is an American sitcom that was produced by Michael Jacobs Productions in association with Tri-Star Television (later Columbia Pictures Television) and distributed by TeleVentures. It starred Paul Reiser, Greg Evigan, and Staci Keanan. The series premiered on NBC on September 20, 1987, airing three seasons through April 30, 1990. == Synopsis == The series begins after Marcy Bradford (played by Emma Samms in the second-season episode "In Her Dreams"), the mother of 12-year-old Nicole Bradford (Keanan), has died. The two men who had competed for Marcy's affections in Key West during the...

Well I wasn't the one italicizing your name

I heard you're supposed to Alicize housekeepers' names, though.
I just keep getting worse and worse. I'm going to bed before I embarrass myself too badly.

Alicize?

@Catija I have no idea
It-Alicize . . . erm, nope.
Oh thanks heavens I don't have to wait till 2 a.m. to take Cefixime

@Mithrandir It seems like you've caused some confusion with your pun.

*thank

The following is a list and description of the primary characters from the classic American television series The Brady Bunch. In episode #4 of The Bradys, "Hat in the Ring", when Mike is sworn in as City Councilman, his full name is given as Michael Thomas Brady. Mike, a widowed architect, b...

Aren't you a little young for The Brady Bunch??? Maybe you're not really the age you claim to be. ;)

My father put it on once to explain a reference he made and my little sisters got hooked.
We're now in the middle of the second season.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan, but I wasn't going to pass up a chance to make a bad joke.
