would you say the same thing about Muslims who have bookshelf's of Hadith? That "those who don't use them often don't have them to begin with."

Don't know.
I'm mostly going on my personal experience here. Most of the people that I know have them and use them.

Fair enough, I'm not above that. I'm also going on my own experience here.
I'm friends with more Muslims than Jews and Christians than Muslims. So I'm not exactly the right-most person to answer this.
The only person I know that actually reads the bookshelf is the rabbi.

Also, when I say use them I don't necessarily mean use them every day. Many people with shelves full of religious books only use each one once in a while.

Sure, I'm not out there to split hairs about what it means to use them. I mean they'll never read a single books worth on whole shelf of the books they've got.
Maybe they got the set from their grandparents (it's an heirloom), or simply because it looks cool.

12:20 AM
@EvanCarroll Yeah, lot's of people have books as heirlooms.

Q: Why do I have 139 reputation on Stack Overflow and only 1 on Meta?

Nathan Possible Duplicate: Why do I have a different reputation score on meta.stackoverflow.com and stackoverflow.com? I have 139 reputation on Stack Overflow, but here for some reason I only have 1? This is strange. Aren't they supposed to be the same? I have enough to post questions to the ...

@Alex the problem is with the MSE /MSO split - MSO is a 'classic' meta site
there's nothing really to fix

@JourneymanGeek Can't it be closed as a duplicate of a different question, or reopened?

why reopen - it'll never happen again

Then shouldn't it be closed for a different reason? Like non-reproducable or whatever?

eh, maybe deleted so it dosen't confuse ;p

5:56 AM
Or that. I'd say that now it's confusing because it says the question has already been asked but links to a dead page. (I didn't even really read the question; I don't particularly care about the precise issue it's discussing, it just seems odd the way it currently displays.)

oh, that's a thing
but you'd still need people to reopen then close
which is going to need co-ordination
on a regular site, mugging a mod for something like this might work

Well I did flag it a while back, but supposedly that doesn't do much around here.

ya. I'd be happy to throw it a delvote, but I don't think it needs the delvote batsignal

Are you familiar with the Penalty Box?

The penalty box (sometimes called the sin bin, bad box, or bin) is the area in ice hockey, rugby football and some other sports where a player sits to serve the time of a given penalty, for an offense not severe enough to merit outright expulsion from the contest. Teams are generally not allowed to replace players who have been sent to the penalty box.

It’s not something we looked forward to, but as of tonight, we’re instituting a penalty box on Stack Overflow. …

@Muze ^^^ tgat's a great starting point

Does anyone know a smart way to make clamav and timeshift coexist peacefully?

8:55 AM
Peace treaty?
Without too much bad blood between the two sides, it might just work. :P
"clamav" aka Side A will get 50% of the land, "timeshift" aka Side B will get the other 50%. Done deal, all is good. :D

@ShadowWizard basically, if clamav gets to scan the snapshoot folder, it won't recognize the file links as links. So, from my poor understanding of the issue... you get number of file in the snapshot multiplied number of snapshot scansions of the same files

ouch
And how timeshift enter this formula?
Just use Sharepoint to solve it. No? ;)

@ShadowWizard timeshift is the one who creates those snapshots.

And the only answer I have? The guy that's supposed to know how this works is on vacation :P
I started in this team last week, and the guy that's supposed to know this stuff and teach me has decided to take this week off. I can do the programming, but no, I don't know what's wrong on the test environments! I can't even access them

@Tinkeringbell so send mass email to all company... ;)

@Shog9 Can't be more generic than Tim. Maybe Dan. (aka impossible to find that user easily :))
@Glorfindel not sure it's the same Tim as Shog posted, but Tim from your query isn't a good asker.
> This account is temporarily suspended for voting irregularities. The suspension period ends on Nov 25 at 14:21.
If SE top network asker is suspended, it's a big shame for us all. How on earth wasn't he caught and suspended long long ago??
Also, his network profile is borked, probably as reason of many suspensions?

Saddle your horses, someone can get suspended for serial voting and not be a total fraud

but after 1000+ questions? Doubt it.
Anyway... not something for SE to be proud about.
hmm... nothing borked, turns out that "Tim" simply hide all his communities, so his network profile accounts tab is empty. Which makes it even more suspicious.

The large peak in the previous graph is probably the large # of old 'MSO' questions (mainly) about tags.

Chat flags are so weird. When you click "approve" on a flag raised by someone else, looks like it's causing whole new flag to be raised on your behalf.

It is. But that's not really the weird part. It also raises a flag on your behalf if you click "invalid"... or "not sure"

a negative flag?

@Shog9 whoa
Can't be more inefficient, I guess. lol

2:53 PM
Truth is, chat has the concept of a "meh" flag (technical jargon alert) - a flag that you raise when you don't have any particular opinion

@Magisch a "disagree with existing flags" flag, we had it in the ancient 10k flag queue.

I just wanted to flag-flag

I never used it for real because I was never sure enough how it works.

nothing in particular is happening, but flags are cool so I wanted one

A sufficient volume of "meh" flags will quash other flags
