@Dukeling there's a phrase for this so no. Other people have had dependency hell

@Catija Since you're editing the chat moderation guide, maybe it's time to replace the tag with ?

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog ... That's sort of why I'm editing it. ;)

1:04 AM
I flagged it back in May asking it to be FAQ-ified. :)

1 hour later…
@CharlieBrumbaugh How is that spam?

@Catija it looked like a copy paste and asks to get it forwarded along at the end

other one was an indian chap

2:57 AM

It looks like chat is https as well but SEDE isn't nor is it mentioned in the question. There was a new report today that got deleted. Is it correct to assume SEDE is not going to be served over https or is it just a matter of priorities this hasn't been done yet?

Should we reject edits to spam posts removing spam link?

yes

@NogShine FAQ on spam says specifically not to edit spam posts to remove the spam
So I reject those edits

@NogShine absolutely
then flag as spam

Irony is that the post existed for someone to suggest an edit.

and if the editor is unhappy whack him on the nose with a rolled up newspaper let them know that the posts feed into the spam filters so editing them dosen't help
eh. Not all spam is autocaught.
The price of freedom (from spam) is eternal vigilence ;p

since when are links underlined in posts?
In chome I see this: i.stack.imgur.com/lQoJV.png
I don't mind layout in general but this has changed for sure and it is pretty ugly.
also in Edge repro-ed

user194636
that's weird

user194636
same on Super User I guess it's the new sites

user194636
must be unintentional

user194636
surely

11:36 AM
Got an example?
Never mind, found the post. Yeah, same deal here.

1:31 PM
@PaulWhite yup. Likely some core text-decoration: none; CSS rule forgotten/overwritten.

user194636
I seem to recall this has happened before

user194636
but I am quite unreliable so

@ShadowWizard gone ;)

@JNat thanks!

2:12 PM
Lol ... for some reason I just got the "informed" badge on MSE :D

@JuliaSilge Hello! I just got a chance to look at the Comment Evaluator 5000 UI. I noticed that the comments aren't attributed to their authors (as cc by-sa requires). Have y'all checked with the lawyers to see if that's legal, or are you just assuming that nobody will want the comments attributed? cc @Undo

@Bart congrats! Now please make sure all your questions and answers are on par with the site guidelines and policies. See How to Ask in the Help center and read the

@rene "Hi! I want to say the sight should not allow users who don't read to downvote before a day because is unwelcom to knew users"

+1

I hate myself for writing that :D

We've intentionally added underlines where can I partition to intentionally remove the underlines?

Partition I don't know. But petitions go on MSE :p
/me reached smart ass limits for the week.

3:25 PM
It is friday.... I'm in VrijMiBo mode already
it sounded good enough for me

:D I was supposed to have a meeting in 5 minutes, but that just got cancelled.
Am I not clear here: stackoverflow.com/questions/51894734/… ? I see the user keeps coming back, but got no further response after the 2nd comment .

seems clear to me

I'll make it an answer later perhaps
But it seems he's focused on "why doesn't it work in Unity" when in actual fact he's just lucky it works at all.

yes, that is right. Also note that it isn't sure they flush the stream which might explain why bytes are kept in the tcp/ip stack.
and if tested on localhost they might have different results once that code is force to use the actual tcp/ip stack

Does anyone else notice a difference in quick scrolling this MSE post and this WB post? For me in chrome it indeed jumps/isn't smooth while the MSE one doesn't experience that. Reported here but it isn't so slow for me.

4:14 PM
@Shog9 you might want to ping some people of SO Enterprise to look at SO Enterprise WAM one login on MSO in case no one saw it yet. It gets some down votes and comments to scare that user away.

I want Grumpy Contributor on my usercard ...

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog yeah, but not rejected...

5:15 PM
@thesecretmaster @Undo The legal team has been involved at all stages, because there are complicated, interrelated issues at play. There is tension between our responsibility to protect from online harm (i.e. calling out individuals) and the spirit of the CC-BY-SA license requirement (intended to give the author due credit for authorship).
If this is something you want to escalate or get more info on, we can likely point you to more resources or the right people!

5:30 PM
@JuliaSilge I understand the conflict between the license and protection, but I would've thought that the law would go above the ethical issues here because Stack Exchange doesn't want to risk a lawsuit. Did the lawyers tell y'all it was legal to omit attribution in this circumstance? I'm asking because I'm working on a very similar comment evaluation tool, and I'd like to omit attribution, but I'm unsure about the legality.

@thesecretmaster I'm not sure what your legal burden would be, balancing the various issues and responsibilities on you. That was what our legal team had to sort through for us as Stack Exchange. It's not an issue of law vs. ethics, but legal burdens of various types.

@thesecretmaster @JuliaSilge I believe the unofficial comment evaluator being worked on by some users added in a link, but invalidated the review if the user clicked on the link.

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog gone

That means, you should not edit your comment.
In my personal opinion, Instead of implementing lot of CoC and rules, just remove all the barricades and invite new users to the jungle. Let them hear all roars, barks, meows and everything.

Is it the hour of happy yet?
I heard there was beer somewhere

@TravisJ Not quite

40 minutes.

Happy hour seems to always land during my commute :(
Working from home is seeming more and more desirable

Happy hour with new contributor indicator

@TravisJ Jon Skeet contributes to SO during his commute

10:32 PM
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog He's in the UK and uses public transport...

On a train!

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'm piloting a subsonic supercharged funbucket :P
Maybe I could voice to text with my watch, code not guaranteed to execute

10:43 PM
@TravisJ Lotus Elise?

@Fabby 550hp 2010 camaro

@TravisJ Meh, that falls under "Comfy car that goes fast but doesn't handle too well..."
>:-) ;-) >:-)

@Fabby It turns at 1g, the elise is only 1.08

The Elise just feels like you're driving a cart all of the time...

Meh, would rather drive a more powered cart :P
They are only at the 200hp range
Maybe it were at like 400+, or ideally 700! Still trying to find somewhere to rent an f1 car

10:50 PM
Oh no... incoming happy hour...

@TravisJ Lotus still rents out their F1 cars, but as you seem to own a Camaro, that's probably a Transatlantic flight for you

@Fabby Yeah, it would be (in CA). Where do they rent their f1 cars?
I mean, it is really expensive to rent an f1 car, so travel may not play as much of a factor.

@TravisJ On the Lotus Track in Newcastle-upon-Tyne...

@Catija Happy Hour!

@Fabby Cool, will have to check it out

11:00 PM
Happy on the Meta™

Phew, finished a feature with 8 seconds to spare for the weekend
