Heh, thanks.

I'm willing to sacrifice New Jersey for the good of the Northeast. All in favour, say aye.

Q: Please show us when we lose an accepted answer

cletusSometimes (like today) I see that an answer of mine that had been accepted is no longer the accepted answer. Thing is, I have absolutely no idea which one and I'd really like to see which one to satisfy my curiosity. Please add that to recent history or something.

So, this just got 'd. How would it work now?

A: Please show us when we lose an accepted answer

nhinkleWith the new reputation dropdown, you can now see what posts you have gained and lost reputation from. If an answer is unaccepted, the associated loss in reputation should be shown in the dropdown, indicating which question you lost 15 points on.

</lazy>
Although I haven't had that happen recently to see that was the case..

Yeah yeah, but I haven't seen it happen, so when did this feature get added in? I don't think (not sure?) this was in there all along

I didn't think so either, admittedly I am skeptical. :P

Can you unaccept and reaccept an answer at will? If so, I guess we can test on that Greasemonkey question.

4:09 AM
ಠ_ಠ

Nice...

@TimStone Answers can be accepted and un-accepted at will, which question are you talking about?

A: Problem with type coercion and string concatenation in JavaScript in Greasemonkey script on Firefox

Tim StoneAs part of the userscript's process, a <script> tag is injected into the page with the code retrieved by calling toString() on the function you've defined. Usually this would be fine, but it appears that there's a bug in the javascript engine used by Firefox 3.6.13 that relocates the parent...

@TimStone I've dropped the accepted vote. Also, that bug's now "Status: RESOLVED FIXED", hmmm...

Yeah, no. It just tells you that you lost 15 reputation, but not on what.

4:15 AM
Oh, well it is then

Heheh, yeah. Although since it's just a lump figure, it's pretty much the same as before.

Q: Can there be put a limit on nested quotes depth and <kbd> tags?

Tom Wijsman Possible Duplicate: > character sequences can really mess up the layout and make loading/editing the question very difficult Look at my nested quotes in the Formatting Sandbox, they get outside the answer box. Obviously, if you use this at an even bigger depth, you could render a p...

Do people just down vote things because they're duplicates now, or what?

[status-sort-of-but-not-really-completed-we-dont-care-pssst]

I knew the duplicate existed, and it still took me 20 minutes to find the damn thing.

@TimStone Huh, odd... verily

@YiJiang Exactly. :P
Yeah...I guess I should have just saved the link to flag for if it was resolved, since I would have preferred that post to get more up votes and attract attention.

Q: -1 for closing, why not +1 for reopen?

NifleA question gets an automatic -1 vote when it is closed. Why isn't that -1 vote removed when a question is reopened?

From when do you got downvote for closing?

Is there anybody who can help with merging two accounts on different SE sites?
Those accounts are from the same person, but as the accounts are not associated, he cannot edit his own question on DA; the consequence is that he keeps adding answers instead of editing the question, or adding comments.

Q: drupal generating image-styles

I just wanted to know if there is some way to make Drupal 7 re-build all the images for a specific style. The image style is created after the pictures were uploaded. The module using this image style will be color box. Even though I update, delete, re-create the style, no images are generated in...

I'm curious, does anyone else when using the anon. feedback thingy have the entire content shift downward by one or two px when hovering over the post? Slightly annoying, not a big deal

12:06 PM
@YiJiang I don't see any content shift, with Google Chrome.

12:56 PM
@YiJiang Yeah, it seems to be a Firefox issue.
Oh, it's actually an easy fix too.

1:20 PM
is it only me or is chat.stackoverflow.com/rooms/11/php so slow?

Anonymous
@genesisφ I didn't notice that, but the meta chat wasn't loading for me, for at least several minutes.

meta is fine, normal is horror
@Jeremy of you know PHP right? could you help me here?

Anonymous
I sort-of know it, but I mostly used it before I was a decent programmer, so I never learned the right way to do things.

what is your p. language now? :p
Could you help me with easy... curl script? It depends more on firebug than on curl

Anonymous
Python and JavaScript are the ones I'm most comfortable with.

1:27 PM
I'm trying to do SO-remote-login

Anonymous
I'll take a look, but no promises that I'll be any help. :P

Look
get('http://stackoverflow.com/');

//echo http_build_query(array("email" => 'martinflyff@seznam.cz', 'password' => 'mypass'));
$url = post('http://stackoverflow.com/users/signin',false,'http://stackoverflow.com/users/login');
echo $login_form = get($url, 1, 'http://stackoverflow.com/users/signin');
die();
last echo fives me 404

@genesisφ Use the fixed font button to paste code

	get('http://stackoverflow.com/');

	//echo http_build_query(array("email" => 'martinflyff@seznam.cz', 'password' => 'mypass'));
	$url = post('http://stackoverflow.com/users/signin',false,'http://stackoverflow.com/users/login');
	echo $login_form = get($url, 1, 'http://stackoverflow.com/users/signin');
	die();
thanks
I'll give you get & post function if you want
but it is probably some protection or so
Does anybody here what are steps to login into SO?
Ok, answer is probably no

Anonymous
Yeah, could I see get and post?

1:35 PM
I was poking the server using command-line CURL

function get($url, $head = false, $referer = false){
	if (!file_exists('cookie.txt')){
		$fp = fopen("cookie.txt", "w");
		fclose($fp);
	}
	$ch = curl_init($url);

	if ($referer){
		curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_REFERER, $referer);
	}
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, true);
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_NOBODY,true);
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, "cookie.txt");
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, "cookie.txt");
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0)");

Anonymous
but it wouldn't give up its secrets.

I'm not sure where to get
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIE, 'canary=1&anon=f5aedb18-6a0b-495b-8beb-fdb15b76f0c3');
Please @mention me if you get something :)
@JeremyoftheBanks and if you give it up, @mention me too

Anonymous
Will do. :P

@JeremyoftheBanks Still nothing on my side - you're still trying it? :D

Anonymous
1:48 PM
I'm receiving the canary and anon cookies in the response to the GET, but I don't see how to retrieve them using PHP (I remember COOKIEJAR handling this for me). The server isn't giving me a 404, whatever I do.

Anonymous
and I'm screwing something up because I'm not getting the cookies when I send my login info...

I can post whole code if you want
<?php

/**
 * @author
 * @copyright 2011
 */

function get($url, $head = false, $referer = false){
	if (!file_exists('cookie.txt')){
		$fp = fopen("cookie.txt", "w");
		fclose($fp);
	}
	$ch = curl_init($url);

	if ($referer){
		curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_REFERER, $referer);
	}
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HEADER, true);
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_NOBODY,true);
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEJAR, "cookie.txt");
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_COOKIEFILE, "cookie.txt");
	curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_USERAGENT, "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows NT 5.0)");

Anonymous
@genesisφ I've saved that to look at later, but I'm going to give up for now.

@JeremyofBanks and what are you getting?
@JeremyoftheBanks from that my one?

Anonymous
I wasn't running your code; I was trying to run the equivalent CURL commands in the terminal because that was easier. /signin and /login both ignored my login info. /login set the anon and canary cookies, but that's all.

Anonymous
1:55 PM
Everything returned 200 OK.

Anonymous
Manually setting cookies values like the ones included in your code made no difference that I could see.

damn. so when you request stackoverflow.com/users/signin
what do you get?
I do get long url, right?

Anonymous
Yeah, I get that URL as the response, whatever data I send.

wait a second
