Anyway...tonight I'll be on a plane heading south from Alaska towards SoCal...no more moose shots

A question about getting node to use chacha-poly should be on serverfault, right?

errr
I'm vaguely leaning towards SO there

@bjb568 probably ... although not sure if the SF peeps are happy to answer the node side of the question.
and what Journeyman says ...

ok, I'll ask on SO.

hmm... no chacha-poly related tag on SO, and no node.js related tag on SF. I'm afraid @bjb568 is in trouble. :/
(i.e. question will likely be closed/ignored on both sites)
oh wait, SF does have node.js tag

7:05 AM
well, I guess the problem here is you're trying to get some software running on node using chacha-poly
and that feels more dev than sysadmin/ops

I was also thinking about Crypto.SE since the main goal here is cryptography as far as I can tell from reading about chacha poly but it's not relevant for node, so...
I think that if you can't find the answer via Google yourself, chances are low you'll get helpful answer on any SE site, to be honest.

Q: Using chacha20-poly1305 with node

bjb568Older versions of node did not support chacha20-poly1305, but as of version 10.0.0, node supported openssl 1.1.0, which includes chacha. require('tls').getCiphers() includes chacha. $ openssl ciphers includes chacha. But passing https.createServer() and http2.createServer() a ciphers list wit...

maybe I should have just filed a bug in node's repo.

yup. really feels like SO lol

At least there was a well-received question that was almost identical (that I linked).

@bjb568 nicely asked. Not sure if the javascript tag is required, it's not about syntax after all, but rather node.js "core".
@bjb568 yeah but no answers.... (until OP self answered himself)

8:16 AM
Am I missing something here?

Oh, okay.

I donno how to explain it
but if you're logged into google and have a deligated account

ah

you can trivially switch between them by clicking on your ava, then selecting the account you want
I only know this cause in theory my mom's email account is managed by me
in practice I ignore it mostly XD

8:19 AM
Okay, still needs to be implemented on Google's end then?

errr
IDK
More of something a dev would mess with than someone who stares at screens for a living

On the SE site nothing should change as there is only one identity linked to an account.

oh
You might end up wanting to use different google oauths with the same account

that is no going to happen I think

in the openid days I had a disposable login set up cause I kinda found it annoying to use a sock on untrusted systems as I did in my last job

8:23 AM
multiple emails, yes.

not saying its useful , just that this sounds like what OP wants ;p

Okay, I'll leave it at that.
I don't think this will be implemented in the next 6 to 8 weeks

Nope ;p
nor would my desire to spin up my own logins again XD

8:51 AM
@rene it happens in the apps already, as far as I can tell, just not on web.
Most likely it's something on Google side, but maybe SE can pass some parameter that can "force" it.

Hmm... I just did a quick test for signing-in with Google on my office account, and incognito. It seems Google already provides this feature:
incognito: no selection
office account: choose account
Oh, never mind... I think I understand the problem

9:26 AM
Yep once you selected and logged into account, it will always choose it.

1 hour later…

Q: What should I do if I spot a user who is leaving bad comments on multiple network sites?

Sonic the Inclusive HedgehogI noticed that a specific user is leaving many comments that either violate the "Be Nice" policy or are otherwise not really acceptable as comments, on multiple network sites. It would be best if their commenting activities on all sites are investigated all together, rather than separately on eac...

Q: Why were the tab buttons on the homepage changed to sentence case from lowercase?

Sonic the Inclusive HedgehogI noticed that the tabs on the homepage (active, featured, etc.) were made "Sentence case" as part of the redesigning efforts. Previously, they were all lowercase. Why was this change made? Note that this isn't a request to change them back to lowercase; I just want to know why this design chang...

+1 I'm puzzled by the downvotes, as this is a neutral question. While I can't answer for the staff, I personally think that sentence case inside boxes looks better than lowercase inside boxes. Without boxes (our profiles), I'd stick with lowercase. But perhaps some study was done or it was a "style consensus." — Jason Bassford yesterday

11:31 AM
@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog $5 per hour? Or whole flight?

hmm... so not bad

Flying from Anchorage, Alaska to LAX, then drive back to San Diego

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog I don't think score matters. e.g. Tim answering a -20 support question.

@ShadowWizard well, anywhere between +4/-16 when it was answered

11:42 AM
@Mithrandir what? The -20 question?

yep

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog I don't think that on this one the team will give better answer than the comments you already have. There's no official channel for such things.

The other one I'd prefer an official response

@SonictheInclusiveHedgehog sure, only them know for sure.
Also curious why you asked JNat of all the staff around here?

Currently active employee here
I wanted to get a response before my plane lands

11:54 AM
But he's not very active on MSE
And even for my "spammer hunt" requests he usually takes several hours to several days to respond. :)
So, you have best chance to get response from Shog, IMO. (not 100% of course, but better than any other CM around here.)

@SomewhatMemorableName amazing how users on that site don't flag as spam... think all spam flags are from smokey followers.
They're so.. innocent?
And one high rep user even posted answer. Just amazing.

@ShadowWizard At least it's "somewhat related" to music...

I didn't flag until Tetsujin declared it's a spam. I though it's an honest mistake (not knowing SE as Q&A site, but forum to share; already flagged as blatantly off-topic)

Also it just looks like from somebody who don't know the rules (and think SE sites are blogs/forums?)

Well, that one high rep user is a bit... "conventional"?

3:21 PM
@user202729 looks like that whole site considers itself as a forum, yeah.

@ShadowWizard Then... if the site chooses to do that it should not be flagged anyway?
There are non-Q&A site on SE.

@user202729 Spam should always be flagged. Closing is different matter.
If site really don't want to get downvotes or spam flags, it should be removed from Stack Exchange.

looking around the site
@ShadowWizard Doesn't look like a forum.

Music.SE is a "traditional SE" Q&A site. Most of regulars there understand that, only a few aren't

@user202729 Didn't check to be honest, but if a spam post isn't flagged as such, and gets an answer, well...

3:24 PM
@ShadowWizard Now it's flagged. Nothing left to complain about.

I'll always have something to complain about. :P

(being used to surfing Music.SE HNQ and found regular answerers, more-or-less knowing each answerer's personality)

Somebody may want to make a meta post about flagging spam on Music Meta.
If it becomes a problem.

You can...
I really don't care enough about that site to do this... plus they'll just ignore this coming from a fresh new user with 0 activity on their site, no?

@ShadowWizard Then, some CM.
Or just a blog post.

3:30 PM
hehe blog post

I am not sure if this question is really on-topic at MSE:

Q: Query that computes user normalized rank

@πάνταῥεῖ it is. SEDE is on topic since it has no meta, so "query requests" are on topic.

That were my thoughts also

Since SEDE is for everyone, not just programmers, those without SQL background have no chance to do it themselves.

@ShadowWizard yummy! Is that yellow stuff Advocaat?

@rene dunno about Adv something (didn't click yet), it's mango
Mangoes are juicy stone fruit (drupe) from numerous species of tropical trees belonging to the flowering plant genus Mangifera, cultivated mostly for their edible fruit. The majority of these species are found in nature as wild mangoes. The genus belongs to the cashew family Anacardiaceae. Mangoes are native to South Asia, from where the "common mango" or "Indian mango", Mangifera indica, has been distributed worldwide to become one of the most widely cultivated fruits in the tropics. Other Mangifera species (e.g. horse mango, Mangifera foetida) are grown on a more localized basis. It is the national...
Actually my brother is very allergic to mango and might die from even just tasting one, but I'm not affected. :)
hehe, no it's not alcoholic, I know you should work, @rene. :D

@ShadowWizard next Sunday, when I visit my parents I'm sure the ice cream will have advocaat.
@ShadowWizard mango is good, lekker!

@rene wow... you have cool parents. ;)

Ice cream with mango chutney: just awesome:)

yup
Also good for milkshakes.
Mango, Banana, Strawberry on orange base.... yummy. :D
Well, fruit shake. Not milk. lol
But it cost a ton in Israel, no less than 20 NIS (~7 USD) for small cup.
Pretty sure that if posted by a new clean sock, my feature request would have been at -20 by now. Not sure if it's good or bad. ;)
@Neal tested those things in the past, revealing his sock by mistake before he wanted too, lol.

6:17 PM
@rene There is a configuration option that SE can add really easily that tells google to always ask which account you want to use for OAuth.
If you are only signed into one google account, it adds one click to the process, but if you have multiple google accounts with SE accounts linked, it makes things easier.
Also if you only have one google account linked to SE, but you forget which one or click the wrong one, having it ask you which one to sign in on makes it easier to get signed into your account, because otherwise you'd have to log out of both SE and google to fix it.

That makes sense.

TFW you have a dupehammer but you can't vote to close the question because you already did it before you had the hammer ...
(yes, that's a )

@Glorfindel congrats for the hammer!

thx

another hammer born
:D

@Glorfindel I flagged the old Q&A the OP referred to for deletion, since the information seems to be hopelessly outdated.

Wait. I have a malfunctioning hammer, it seems ...

7:29 PM
Caching... it's always caching... (the hammer, not the score :(

@Glorfindel caching... probably it takes actual effect only when tag scores are calculated...
So, wait until 3 AM
;)

I do have the gold badge already ...

Badge comes before actual score update

I've seen gold already :O

Pretty sure there's bug report

@ShadowWizard so the dupehammer logic checks on score, not on the presence of a badge?

@SomewhatMemorableName huh. So weird.
@Glorfindel probably, yeah

@SomewhatMemorableName that looks ... weird ... with the silver badge above the gold one.

They never expected someone to use hammer so soon after getting it... ;)

This is also weird:

7:33 PM
the user profile has been weird since the responsive design
not that it's related...

Warning. This dupehammer may be malfunctioning due to caching.

lol
Well, maybe something was deleted, check the "recent deleted answers". @Glorfindel
Or just deleted:1 search, though you can't sort by "deleted time"

@Glorfindel what you see here?

@ShadowWizard first post is this one

7:37 PM
@Glorfindel it might look weird if prioritizes tag score instead of tag badge's tier (1099 [discussion] vs 1000 [support])

well.. not relevant. And your reputation tab with "show deleted" checked? @Glorfindel

I guess MSE is out of dupehammer for now...
need to wait until restocked

@SomewhatMemorableName it does something with # of posts and badges, too. Compare my MSO profile with my MSO tag page; the former doesn't show [tag:winterbash-*]
@ShadowWizard doesn't make a difference.
I just have to be patient until they're restocked.

Will take 6-8 hours :3

hehe.. oh well.
