@Mgetz what example?
Did Joe remove it?

3 hours ago, by Catija
Maybe I'm missing what you're talking about... the example in the yellow box with the green tick mark?

@Mgetz oh, so the Wizard itself is faulty, unrelated to the blog post
Leave answer on the MSO post if you haven't already. :)

@ShadowWizard yeah
6 hours ago, by Mgetz
@ShadowWizard Developers are not exactly known for their assertive tendencies when it comes to authority

@Mgetz that's true only IRL
Here we're whatever we want to be.
:D

@ShadowWizard methinks thou doth assume too much

7:05 PM
Well, I know about myself... :)

@ShadowWizard I'm changing all the time ;)

@πάνταῥεῖ diapers? ;)
oh, this reminds me...

Oh! That's evil :(

lol
You can take it

7:13 PM
@ShadowWizard So... I"m looking at that user's rejected edits... two of them were rejected by the OP but would have been a good edit, one was rejected and edited by another user in what should have been an improve edit, not a reject... and the last one I'm not sure of but was rejected by the OP (stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/20079291).

@rene yes, "only" three! In my small freezer!
Can you find all three? ^ :D
@Catija oh. The last one is edit conflict, not the editor's fault.
Well guess you're right...

:)

Suggested edits on SO are sensitive spot for me, I used to love reviewing them until I found out how rotten this is.
99% of the problem is such edits, marking random words as inline code... which over time got approved more and more, as those who initially suggested them got enough rep to review.
I knew it's a lost battle, so preferred to just quit.
Guess SO is littered these days with tons of such things, using inline code instead of bold or italics to highlight keywords in posts.

I do appreciate the hint to look into it more closely. I hadn't gone that far and doing so was an interesting exercise.

heh, glad it led to something good in such case. :)

7:22 PM
@ShadowWizard I am still wondering what qualifies for inline code at sites like SE German Language

@πάνταῥεῖ nothing... ideally it won't be part of the markup in non-programming sites, but guess such change isn't worth the team's time.
@rene so how was the 6-8 hours conversation with customer? All went well?

I usually just replace that with emphasis there.

@ShadowWizard yeah, data is loaded, took 9 hours in total (Extract, Transform and Load) , no errors reported, tomorrow morning pre-production checks by the end-users and if that doesn't throw any blockage the system will be open for everyone.

Nice!
You deserve ice cream of your choosing from my freezer then. ;-)

7:38 PM
lol

@Catija as I predicted the reputation over time is the breaking point for that query. Here I have the two pieces data.stackexchange.com/stackoverflow/query/865664 that both work (for a few users at most) but if you want to combine those queries SEDE times out and that makes Nick unhappy. So no, for now there is no instant SEDE query that can answer your request. I might revisit this later as there are a few options I want to try but that has to wait for the weekend.

Haggis icecream, whoa!

@rene Thanks for trying! :D Please don't anger Nick. ;)
... user ID 811? :P

@Catija No, let's not do that. I still need him to merge my PR on SEDE ...
@Catija yeah, strangely enough I know who belongs to that id from the top of my head. My own userid I had to lookup ...

7:46 PM
Yeah, I recognized it immediately...

I call it an average user ...

@πάνταῥεῖ lol

My 1st thought was "Tuna & garlic" flavor, and I googled. But what I found sounds way worse.

@Catija could be super cool if he had id 999... :P

There were people complaining recently seeing a 9 in their user ID. I still have no clue why.

7:52 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ it is bad ...
just like the black cat crossing, or running under a ladder ...

@ShadowWizard for what it's worth someone does have userid 666 on each site too

My daughter says 9 is violet. Violet isn't bad!

Mine are all over the map.

except on meta... there is no user 666 on meta

Let's say color is an extended property of form.
I was quite baffled when she came up with that to me.

8:14 PM
@MartinJames backoff will you?

8:35 PM
@ShadowWizard luring people to your basement with the promise of frozen treats...

8:59 PM
Oh no! Evil plan revealed by @canon!

9:25 PM
@ShadowWizard I didn't say anything about, "evil..." Is there something inherently nefarious about luring someone to your basement?

In general, I'd say "luring" implies a negative result...

i mean... that depends on the party

Is it the bat cave?

I am the engineer who designed that invisible car :P

I could use one of those for my daily commute...

9:35 PM
@TravisJ Cool idea! Less p'lice tickets :P

@πάνταῥεῖ I got 3 tick'ts last year :(

2 so far this year

I wish they would raise speed limits. At least, on freeways.

57km/h over 50km/h => 15EUR they're going picky :(

Yeah that is pretty picky.
All mine were in 100kph zones
Generally you are safe here until you go over 120

9:42 PM
i've been pulled over for got 11 over a few times (mph), but never for anything less than 10 over

Unless there's a speed limit, you can go at any (Ludicrous) speed at German freeways:

@KevinB Yeah, pretty standard, unless you are in a downtown area or something
@πάνταῥεῖ That would be fun :) My car goes 290 kph
Can barely see the difference in the little dashed lines at that speed

Kiloponds per hour. That's a quite interesting metric ;)

Do you call it kmh?

9:45 PM
I was trying to do the conversion for you :P
it's about 180 mph
How big is the pond though? Some can be quite large.

@TravisJ Km/h
Kilo = Capital

Lazy Chat Exception: Unexpected symbol '/'.

meter = lower-case
@TravisJ :D
Km / h
with a space before and after the /

I know my picos and femtos thank you very much.

Scientist?

9:50 PM
The science of computation, apparently. Was forced to go through engineering school for it though.

>:-)
I love it the way Americans abbreviate a Bachelor of Science...
B.Sc. here
BS in the US of A
:D

There is a lot of BS in the US of A at the moment.

I would extend that to Planet Earth...

@TravisJ "Hairy" stuff :3

o.O

9:54 PM
@πάνταῥεῖ I don't get it...
Please explain...

I am wearing a long hairdo ATM, looking way better than Don with his poor toupet :3

I need less hair. Needs to happen soon.

It's not a movie quote...

@Fabby Pico and Femto are likely to be shown in comparison to human hair scales, that's all. So simple ...

I'm an idiot!

9:57 PM
@Fabby No, you probably aren't.

We just got the better puns ;)

@πάνταῥεῖ What do you think of the <kbd> keyboard?

<kbd>Great thingy</kbd>

status-kbd

10:01 PM
Doesn't render well here though.
Don't break speed limits at the interstate:
2
A: Formatting Sandbox

user298438 Interstate 85

If I was breaking them, then they wouldn't still be there once I left would they? :P

@πάνταῥεῖ I like the castle best...
@TravisJ Can you post the source of that?
Smoke! BRB

@Fabby [status-kbd]
"Smoke!", as in like OMG THERE IS SMOKE RUN, or as in taking a smoke break?
Was there a spider?
... and that was the last we heard of them

10:20 PM
@TravisJ I went for a smoke...
Did you dial 911?
[test]

I was going to dial 811 but you came back

status-test
@TravisJ 811 is the fire brigade?

is there like a broken image or something with that message, i see a toggleable hide link with a status-test tag below it. or is that just SO Dark Chat + fudging it up

811^
@KevinB The latter

@TravisJ So... yes, then. :P

10:27 PM
@TravisJ Their head needs tweaking :3
Not to mention they're frequently asking about that ...
