@Catija I saw measuring cup and assumed it was for the toddler a second
@JourneymanGeek HAHA... so the metal thing on the top is a ~2.5 oz cup.
There's measurements on the inside for 1 and 2 oz.
02:02
I suppose that's one way to deal with terrible twos
@Catija I like your new avatar

Thanks. :D
It'd been two months, figured it was time for a change.
I'm currently in Denali, Alaska
@JourneymanGeek What?
02:13
What!
(was referring to the slightly terrible joke I made )
02:29
The terrible twos thing?
02:42
Um... So... vote locks are active on MSE... right... five minutes?
I downvoted a question about 15 minutes ago and was able to change it just now... no edits.
@Catija yes. And two terrible jokes at that.
Ah, so, apparently hitting the back button and re-submitting a downvote (even if that's what you already submitted) counts as recasting the vote... interesting.

Interesting .... the profile pages are broken again.
And they're back to normal... 4:42 was when I reported it... Z time... what is that central...
11:42.
So... that's about now.
So, something breaks every Sunday around 4-5 am Z.
Weird... Twitter says 9:29 pm when I tweeted about it on the 2nd... but that doesn't coincide with the question timecode... maybe Twitter has my time zone wrong?
Ah, it had my time zone set at Pacific.... so, now it should be 11:29...
And it is.
... Isn't this about when SEDE is updating?
04:34
hmm, it's still broken.
Yeah, it was broken for about 15-30 minutes the last time.
I'm going to bed now, though. I'm guessing it will be back up when I wake.
plz fixe ishu
It is at least documented:

Q: User profile pages seem to be failing but not the activity tab

CatijaI can not currently visit user profile pages on any site I've tested. Activity pages work just fine. Visiting anyone else's profile link fails since links default to the profile tab unless you're looking at your own page or you're on a site you moderate but if you force the page URL to the activ...

@Catija I found 2 that work, and oh so conveniently... they are both SE employees
But Shog's doesn't... and he's one, too...
So it's inconsistent.
04:45
@Catija Devs getting into fights with CM's
balpha's doesn't work, though. :P
Nor does Mark's.
But Kevin Montrose's does... weird.
....and that is when Joel stepped in and took over the reins.
And Geoff's.
Jarrod's works, too.
Ok, way too late, gnight
Fullerton's doesn't. ... it's just random. Anyway. Sleep.
04:50
hmm, other sites seem to be affected as well (though my profile on GD.SE seems to work) weird

06:00
hey guys!
06:34
hey @Oig!
Your profile is familiar... you deleted your account and re-created it today, right?
Yep. I couldn't change it back last time as the joke Community No Diamond.
hows ya day goin shadow wizarx
It looks strange, you got the association bonus, and are participating 0 communities
I hid them.
I participate in Stack OVerflow
Ah
Unfortunately can't be flagged as spam since it's a community wiki answer.
#MathOverflow
It isn't spam. It is a link only answer.
But with five downvotes it looks very close to spam
06:49
@Oighea oh, it's you... to be honest, deleting and re-creating account to bypass the name change rate limit feels like gaming the system, not nice thing to do.
You could just ask a CM here to reset your name.
Fact is as Community no Diamond I did absolutely nothing except send a few downvotes to stuff I don't entirely agree on. If I didn't even vote I am practically nothing. The name is a joke.
@πάνταῥεῖ many people do it these days, even @Yve. Especially with MSE, many feels... ashamed?.. for using it.
Really. How much did they post?
@πάνταῥεῖ wrong, CW has no effect on flagging. You can flag as spam like you can flag any other post.
@πάνταῥεῖ By the definitions of spam that are used on Stack Exchange, that's not spam. While it is promoting their own item, the association is disclosed and the question asks for such resources. In order for it to be spam, then either the question needs to not solicit such information, or there needs to be affiliation which is not disclosed in the post.
06:53
@Oighea talking about hiding accounts, not deleting accounts.
Talking about that... what about bob.. let's see.. hehe, still there. Flag pending. Probably it will still be pending in 20 years. Almost had a hope that custom flag on MSE will actually be handled, but forgot that's not the case.
As of now I only actually participate in Stack Overflow though I am considering about diversifying into other site
I want other sites such as Math and Arqade to be more popular. Math looks quite candid, but other sites are more specific than STack OVerflow
07:13
@ShadowWizard Ah silly me. I didn't join that site yet.
07:54
Well on regular chat, there's ways around the nick limit
@Oighea beta sites will always welcome new members
I don't understand that much why people want to change their nicks at all :3
I've had the same nick the entire time I've been online.
I've changed mine only once within 6 years, and kept what I've changed it to

3 hours later…
11:25
@JourneymanGeek not about chat, he changed on the site itself
@JourneymanGeek my nick always started with @Sha
Think I had three variants... maybe four?
Other than the this year's AFD, when i was the journeyman duck...
I've always been Journeyman Geek, or The Journeyman Geek

@rene why did you dig this out of its grave 7 years later, for very minor grammar improvements???
Anyway, it's now just noise since that site is dead, no point in the question. Need to close and delete.
umm... @rene really, no need to bump years old questions back to front page just to add some newlines. Especially when you don't fix the actual issues in the question, e.g. dead link, or wrong tags here. Are you using some bot to make those edits now?
@ShadowWizard sorry, I thought about finding a dupe but didn't get to it
Better to close as dupe first, then edit if needed. How you found those old questions anyway?
@ShadowWizard well, I don't think that one is about the android-app ? because it was also tagged mobile-web
> I was editing an answer of mine on the official android app
can't be more clear than that... ;)
OP is kind of clueless about tags, that's common.
(and that's why I suspected you're using a bot since it didn't look like you even read the question)
@ShadowWizard hmm, you have a point there
15:16
Also back then probably android-app tag wasn't very popular, the generic android tag was first to show, and when OP wanted to indicate "mobile app", the mobile web tag was first to appear as well.
we can only guess what they thought back then
Yup
That is true
True is that
15:58
What is wrong with 9s?
If I'll know what's 9s maybe I can tell what's wrong with it.... ;)
Car model?
googling
> 9S is a scanner type android who served during the 14th Machine War. He has an attack function, but it is an android that specializes in investigative purposes—a member of the automated infantry squad, YoRHa, who triumphs in hacking-based information collection
Can't see anything wrong with him. :D
That question about deleting the network account
16:25
> Number nine is sometimes considered an unlucky number in Japan since the word nine in Japanese has similar pronunciation as their word meaning torture or suffering.
17:24
Well, if they're Japanese, they're not going to like a number starting with 4, either...
There are 4999 reasons why I don't like Japanese, and weird alliterations aren't even one.
17:39
Japanese is fun. :D I don't remember much of it, though I do remember a tongue twister of sorts that boiled down to niwa ni wa niwa niwatori ga iru :)
But... kanji
I loved learning how to write.
It was a struggle but it was so different from the Latin alphabet.
It's funny... because I have really nice handwriting ... and you think "I can write English just fine, so it shouldn't be difficult to write in another language... but the strokes for writing in Japanese really force you to learn such different hand motions, you really do start out looking like a 9 year old writing at first, until you build up the muscle memory.
@JonEricson @TimPost @ShadowWizard and all other fathers in the room, I wish you a very happy father's day.
18:25
@NogShine oh, thanks!
@Bart is also a father, he's our Spiritual Father. :D

I thought I found a security leak in the SEDE database until I realized I was looking at that same SEDE database in a laborious way.

2 hours later…
22:54
@ShadowWizard sounds almost like a phone model
@Catija I wondered a lot about that. Must be some myth of satanic curse or such.
My daughter's got a color synaesthesia regarding numbers. As far I know 9 is violet for her. Nothing such bad with violet IMO, and AFAIK she likes it well too.
23:15
@todelete Can you maybe explain a little bit more about why you don't want to have the number 9 associated with your account? It sounds a bit irrational for me (and may be others as well). — πάντα ῥεῖ 3 mins ago
What should I do with DevDoodle?
Aww ...
Hmm well
> Note: This site is in beta, so some features might not work correctly or have not been implemented. Issues can be reported on our public github page.
@bjb568 Report
Is there even any reason to not just shut it down?
Enthusiasts working on it?
Nothing's happened with it for around two years.
23:27
Looks lost though
It's not your site, is it?
AFAIK there's no established process to shut down once published GitHub repos, owners might delete it entirely, but I don't know for sure.
It's my site.
Aww (again)
Well, as mentioned, I don't know if you simply can shut that down once published. I'd recommend that anyways though.
23:45
I don't mean the repo, I mean the site.
Isn't that merely the same?
No… one's a repo, one's a website.
OK, what sense does it make to keep that repo when the related site is shutdown?
I'm asking if I should shut down the site.
You probably should.
23:51
There's still some stuff that I like on it, I guess.
like this ask page.
How does that differ from SE policies?
It's your decision anyways ...
It's more guided.
