[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Mostly non-Latin title: In Phil 2:7, what does εν ομοιωματι ανθρωπων γενομενος mean? by a deleted user on hermeneutics.SE

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog @SensibleAlexander Thank you. I didn't even realize it's borderline offensive.

1:10 AM
@iDebug If it makes you feel any better I've had similar complaint on SU chat when I was a newbie, and it is a work in progress.
However, I'd rather focus on my content, and it being helpful, than forcing myself to check for its/it's errors all the time

@rene You see, on traditional discussion forums, the administrators just put up a board regarding a general topic, designate some users as moderators, and then it's up to the moderators to enforce the scope. Those users don't understand the scope is actually part of the site, and not just something the moderators are enforcing, which is often the case on regular discussion forums.
@JourneymanGeek Just a suggestion. After all, users who correct mistakes in others' posts do get a share of the rep generated from that post...
@JourneymanGeek They must be focusing on your moderation prowess rather than just your grammar sense. Which is a great thing, and what should be happening in real life.

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog most people don't actually focus on minor errors like that
and ehh, I have bigger errors, and general flow to think about

@JourneymanGeek There were some tweets, although quickly deleted. And my API-based page records such changes.

Purchase a cardboard, with fancy circuitry and game

Property, shares ... even education are considered investment. Cars, computers, clothes etc are considered expense

Investment generally increase in value. Expense ... on the other hand, decrease in value over time

Ugh... why is there no magic link that works for MSO?
If there is, someone should tell me what it is because I can't figure it out... I know only a diamond on MSE can see it but the number of things I tried and failed here... meta.stackexchange.com/questions/306348/…

Yeah, there's no magic link for MSO or other per-child meta since [meta] only works on their own respective site.

But I link to MSO in comments on MSE ... like... always. :(

5:09 AM
@Catija Perhaps adding magic links to per-site metas, perhaps for MSE only, would be a good idea for a new
e.g. [meta.so], [meta.su], (Travel Meta or Travel Meta)
@SensibleAlexander Hey, it actually works for per-site metas for sites hosted as subdomains of stackexchange.com
[meta.stackoverflow.se]
I'd thus say that the inability to magic-link [meta.so], [meta.su], [meta.au] etc. is a bug, since [meta.travel.se] and [travel.meta.se] both produce Travel Meta
[meta.ubuntu.se]...that's a rather crude way to link to AU Meta, exploiting the old name of the site
Also, another test: Software Engineering Meta ([meta.programmers.se])
[meta.stackoverflow]
[meta.a51]
[meta.area51.se]
[discuss.a51]
^^ That link is misleading. Separate bug.
[meta.mathoverflow.se]

Q: Adding magic link for Meta Stack Overflow?

PolyGeoIn comments here on Meta SE I can use the magic link [so] to link to http://stackoverflow.com. Consequently, I would have expected the magic link [meta.so] to link to http://meta.stackoverflow.com but that magic link does not seem to be available. Can it be added, please?

Also, I filed another bug report: meta.stackexchange.com/questions/306352/…

Q: Area 51 Discussions magic link shows wrong title

Sonic the Anonymous HedgehogWhen magic-linking to Area 51 Discussions using [discuss.area51.se] or [area51.meta.se], the link shows up as: Area 51 That should be fixed to say "Area 51 Discussions" instead, because the actual link is to the discussions site. @ShadowtheHedgehogWizard What sort of official source do you want?

@rene I'm glad you're happy to be featured in my answer about stars in chat.

;)

@rene I edited as the anonymous editor that if you're awarding an existing answer it's better to wait until the bounty reaches the grace period because due to the additional publicity involved, the answer can get more upvotes.

That was personal experience. I was awarded a bounty for an exemplary answer, and the awarder chose to wait until the end. His investment more than doubled due to the upvotes I received.

I'm getting so close...
I'm guessing this answer isn't going to get a ton of upvotes :P

@Catija If you get at least five upvotes, @rene's investment doubles

It's a 100 point bounty?
Oh, also @SonictheAnonymousHedgehog thanks for the offer of help... at this point, I don't know that the stickers thing is going to happen and I'm pretty sure Art wants to limit access to PII, so if it does happen, I'll probably try to handle it on my own.

@AdamLear Someone told me that in your previous username, "Anna" and "Lear" were the names of two cats, and the person shown in the avatar is their caretaker. Was this true at the time?

Not exactly.

@AdamLear Can you please explain?

7:36 PM
That was my name before I changed it.

@AdamLear runs off to blame someone
@AdamLear Is it true, that you can flag something as NAA multiple times, bypassing normal system measures, by custom-flagging an answer as "not an answer" and exploiting an ancient piece of system code that converts it into a normal flag?

@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Maybe! It certainly sounds like something we'd do. I'd have to look (but I'm in the middle of something else right now.)

8:19 PM
@SonictheAnonymousHedgehog Yes... I don't remember who but someone I know is regularly complaining about that.

@Catija Actually, I was just trying to see if @AdamLear would recall the previous response he made, which was "meh".

@AdamLear Is that still your response today?

Heh. I barely remember what I said last week, nevermind 4 years ago

Speaking of "meh"... I don't suppose that you saw the weird discussion in the TL over the weekend about "meh" and the chat flags admin page, @AdamLear?

@Catija No, can't say that I have

@AdamLear Apparently the use of "meh" on that page (in reference to the "not sure" option in chat flagging) is not a universal term... and anyone who uses it is being intentionally exclusionary of people who don't know what "meh" means.

8:33 PM
@Catija which page is that?

@Catija that entire page is... built around the notion that if you need to use it, you already know how to use it

@Shog9 I know... which is what made the entire discussion even more absurd.
@AdamLear The handled chat flags page.

I mean... got a link to it? :)

Oh that page
Meh :P

8:39 PM
