If the whole "[question title] in [tag]" thing is canonically encouraged, you might want to give this an edit, although if titles are supposed to be stand-alone, I find myself asking why we even have tags (outside of maybe language tags, maybe) - it doesn't seem like most users would use them at all.

Q: How can I develop for iPhone using a Windows development machine?

Is there any way to tinker with the iPhone SDK on a Windows machine? Are there plans for an iPhone SDK version for Windows? The only other way I can think of doing this is to run a Mac VM image on a VMWare server running on Windows, although I'm not too sure how legal this is.

The funny thing is that the only thing I really use my phone for is photos and I'm getting really annoyed by the lag of the iPhone camera quality/features.

It wasn't until this recent release of the X that they offered an optical zoom and I don't really think it's much of one. The third-party solutions are... not great. And I find that the image quality in my current iPhone is not as good as I'd like... but I don't want to toss out $1K on a phone just for a camera... and I'd likely have to upgrade to a larger one to get the storage space I need.

I used to have a little Canon Elph... it was nice. Pocket-sized, decent quality (for the time, this was a decade ago)... but didn't shoot raw, not much zoom, crap in low light...

The problem is that nothing is going to replicate good glass on a DSLR... I don't even have a full-frame one and my crappy photos look better than my best iPhone photos.

Some will go further and say that the DSLRs still can't compete with film... which may be true but who wants to deal with developing any more.

I'm not trying to blow images up to 4'x5'.

@Catija I like mirrorless (in theory) cause they are DSLRs but smaller

and you're probably going to have it easier composing/shooting on a screen anyway

I have no clue whether he "knows it has an LCD" or not. What I can tell you is that photographers generally don't use LCDs when shooting unless they have no choice in the matter due to the angle you're shooting. People used to shooting on phones or point and shoot cameras get really used to sho...

I have an answer for that :P
