I will bring this back to the attention of the team working on the Q&A mobile experience. I agree that it has been lacking attention. — Geoff Dalgas ♦ May 4 at 12:53

@Aibobot welcome to Tavern, Mr. sock! What you can do? ;)
@Gerry and this is after years of ignoring all comments on his answer. Makes it feel like a roulette when posting a comment on their answers. "20 Red means they will reply. Anything else, you won't get any reply. House wins".
And I'm 1000000000% sure he won't reply again for 6-8 years.
So thinking about it... that comment was just pointless as it's obvious nothing will come out of it.
I have no idea how OP of this question has 2k rep on SO. It's pure crap. I mean... seriously.
Maybe he thought "Oh, here is a trash site, let's dump some crap here"?? lol

There may be a reason not to implement mobile views for /review, and I'd be happier with status-declined on that FR. Editing on mobile devices is hard, partly because mobile views of the editor aren't that great. So mobile reviewers will be disinclined from editing, limiting themselves to pushing buttons.

@Gerry which is what most people do anyway, or just Skip instead of Improve, so for most people it doesn't really matter and they'll be happy for friendly way to do basic review actions.

user315433
That's true as well, especially for Close / Reopen. But on the other hand, First Posts queue without edits isn't that great.

@Gerry oh, that's true. But still, much better than nothing...

So if the new app will be shipped, there will be:
SE app vs. SO app
Old app vs. New app

@ShadowWizard I quite literally just use that account on PCs I don't have admin rights on or don't want to sign into google on

@JourneymanGeek heh. But do you actually post with that account? You can read chat even without logging in, you know. :)

Gah, I'm up super-early for the 8am final exam...

@ShadowWizard I do actually chat on it

user315433
Usually helps me wake up at this time of the day...

also it has 1000+ reputation from an answer I posted right before wandering home from work

user315433
In fact, I played it before 8am finals once or twice in an attempt to wake up the class. Not sure it worked, there was no control group.

12:01 PM
@Gerry super early for you is 6 AM?

user315433
12:13 PM
Not a morning person.

It's all about habits. :)
So all is ready for the 8am exam? @Gerry
Also, I hope you won't erase pages of students.... ;)

user315433
Yeah, the exam is proceeding normally. Everyone showed up.

user315433
I did the erasing thing once, actually.

Spilled a generous amount of tea on the pile of homework, and did not notice at first. Water soluble ink on some of the papers.

@Gerry ouch. Students laughed at that?

user315433
Yes, that was fun. These days I collect homework online (overleaf.com) so the fun is over.

oh, Teacher 2.0
But you can still spill tea on the keyboard, causing you to misclick something and give false grade.... :D
@JourneymanGeek yeah, think it was mentioned not long ago as part of HNQ discussion.... ;)
@JourneymanGeek well, @Derpy used to be bot account too in the past, then one day it became the primary account. ;)

12:45 PM
@ShadowWizard back in my day they introduced the first computers in our school. They didn't need to misclick for false grades, we could just change them. Apparently they were unaware they had bought into a workstation setup connected to a central computer, and that all grades were just WordPerfect files accessible to anyone ... we were kind enough to tell them :D

@Bart LOL..... that's just awesome! You were always innocent and too good, I know. :D

@ShadowWizard somethat unlikely I'll switch, the jmg name has a fairly good amount of recognition at this point

@JourneymanGeek as did @SPA back at the time...

@ShadowWizard mostly good ;p

@ShadowWizard freaking goody two shoes. I should have done more bad stuff :D

user315433
> i have achieved my goal with bellow

user315433
Roaring at the computer helps to scare it into submission.

@Gerry where.... is it... from? ;)
@Bart two shoes? You never even lost a shoe?
My daughter keeps losing stuff at school. o_O
Not a shoe yet, thankfully.
They cost like $20

@ShadowWizard duck tape?

@JourneymanGeek hmm? Context? Which of my messages does it reply? :)

1:06 PM
> My daughter keeps losing stuff at school. o_O
;p

(sorry too used to using reply, so hard to guess)
@JourneymanGeek oh. Sticking all her pens, papers, and books to her body would help her not to lose them but would look bit weird.
:D
(and 3 USB sticks)

@ShadowWizard sacrifices have to be made
I just have mine on my keys

(that she lost. didn't give 4th yet.)

@ShadowWizard given the size of my feet, a lost shoe wouldn't really go anywhere, nor fit anyone else :D

@JourneymanGeek she has no keys yet...

1:09 PM
or a keychain or... ;p

(she will just lose them too, for sure. ;))
@Bart yeah yeah, brag about your big feet. I don't envy.
:P

Me neither, I have to buy shoes online. There are literally no shops here that sell them my size :D

Size 60?

Hahaha, nah, not that extreme

I'm only a size 11EE/12

1:11 PM
I'm 50 (or 15 US)

I'm 45-46
@Bart hehe, last entry in the table
I also buy shows online usually, but because it cost like 1/3 the price
Since the last time was a disaster, and the shoes arrived after over an year (!) think I won't do it again.
(though I did get them at last, plus a bonus pair)

Not sure if the default set of tag (r and statistics) at insights.stackoverflow.com/trends is meant as a data scientist's dig at statisticians... In any event, statistics is a borderline off-topic tag on SO, so its usage says pretty much nothing.

lol
would be nice to do that with other tags.... on other sites

OTOH square sleeves closed at the end are a good representation of U.S. higher ed.

Oh this is another one of those new nav things. That entire system is... pretty broken right now. It's fate is not entirely clear. Still being discussed whether someone will be assigned to finish it or if it will just be dropped altogether. user315433
That's basically comment flags for me. If declined, flag two more like that.

7:06 PM
@Gerry isn't there auto flag ban after X are declined?
Plus, a really pissed off moderator will just suspend you on the site to stop those flags.... :)
@Gerry soon 1000 rep on MSE, two bounties are expected?

@ShadowWizard that https issue in chat happens for any room where a Feed user with a non protocol relative or fixed http avatar will post.
I didn't check all system users but so far only -2 seems to exhibit this: chat.stackexchange.com/users/-2/feeds

user315433
Is Unanimous reviews rejecting a low quality flag should decline the flag, not dispute it already status-completed? Or at least I thought this is how it works.

user315433
@ShadowWizard Yes, 25% declined in the last 7 days. meta.stackexchange.com/a/175405

user315433
So I compensate with other kinds of flags.

@bluefeet Can you use your mod powers and change the avatar of chat.stackexchange.com/users/-2/feeds to be protocol relative? //cdn.sstatic.net/Sites/stackexchange/img/apple-touch-icon.png should work ...

user315433
7:19 PM
@rene Should not that be https, then? I hear protocol relative is an anti-pattern nowadays.

@Gerry well, that could also work but I see an inconsistency in user profiles anyway
I don't dare to ping @bluefeet again to suggest the https option if protocol relative is a no-no ....
@Gerry the gravatar ones seem to be still protocol relative on Chat anyway.

@rene oh, you think the URL is kept in database with http://? Sounds too simple to be true...

user315433
Puzzling election is heating up, with 6 candidates already. I'd be inclined to vote for the candidates I dislike the most... if I still had an account on that site, that is.

@ShadowWizard just check it ...

@Gerry you can always ask the team to restore your account...
@rene well, there are hundreds of system chat users with negative ID, so the only real fix must involve direct access to database and running a query/script. Even @bluefeet won't go and change hundreds of avatars.... :)
@Gerry so you were never flag banned?

7:28 PM
@ShadowWizard so far I only found -2 to be a problem ...

user315433
I probably was flag banned on some sites at some point, and possibly banned somewhere now. Hard to keep track of such things, though. Hm, maybe with a script sending API requests trying to flag something with preview=true ...

@rene oh well... :)
@Gerry meant if you ever tried to flag and found you actually can't?

But it looks like the bird has flown

Q: Why do people answer questions, by saying that they don't really know the answer to it?

GAG and SpiceIt's very frustrating to read an answer thread and come across responses where the person often starts out by saying, "I really don't know the answer to this question, but..." There are so many questions where only the existence of a few comments prevents automatic deletion... And the comments are someone's failed attempt to extract some meaning from the question.

user315433
Feature request: require votes with comments. If you're commenting, you must have read the post and formed some opinion about it. Express it before anything else.

user315433
Requirement waived for users under 125 rep and those who have reached their daily vote limit.

@Gerry Huh. I've heard the opposite feature request so many times I almost slapped a mental on that. Interesting idea.

@Gerry Bleh!

user315433
If the above is too extreme: require a vote before the user's second comment on the question.

10:23 PM
The typical case for comments without voting would be the question is missing some information. I suppose the argument would be the question is worthy of downvote if it's missing information needed to answer.
Also, these comments often answer the question by accident. But nobody bothers to actually write them as an answer.

user315433
Maybe just a message, then. After the second comment: "you have commented twice on this post, consider voting on it as well."

user315433
It bugs me that people try to get the OP to clarify, try again, fail... and just leave, without a downvote.

user315433
Mostly because I tend to read unanswered questions with nonnegative score, expecting to find something to think about there.

@Gerry I'm often downvoting to enforce OP's reaction about my requests in comments. But I'm not so sure if the OP left alltogether already.
