do any of you use comodo? am i the only person that finds its ui completely incomprehensible?
i've been using it for years but have consistently failed to actually have any control over it or figure out what it's doing. its dumbed down to an absurd level and the ui looks like somebody just vomited material design all over the window then let it dry and get all crusty.

12:32 AM
@JasonC no. And at this point they're on my sh** list
Cause of ^

why? did they get stupid too? i don't understand why all antivirus software inevitably begins to suck.
welp
now they're on my shitlist too
i was on the verge of dumping it anyways
avast was great for a while then started to suck. kaspersky kicked ass, then started to suck. comodo's on its way down the same path regardless of that let's encrypt bs. i think it's the same old thing with programmer's making excuses to keep their jobs after a piece of software is essentially finished.
what should i try next, let's see...
avg used to be great, too
oh yeah avira, i forgot about that. i remember liking it for a while then getting pissed because it had too many popups.

shrug
MS actually has a nice AV
built into 10, add on for others

Yeah. Anti viruses have grown to be recognized as a problem on par with viruses.

and when I say nice, I mean it dosen't usually slow down my PC worse than any virus and is suprisingly unobtrusive

Questions for the Jedi Vice-Chair of Graduate Studies -- funny if you're in the Universe Academia, or have been there...

@TravisJ fall over, dead, but get better. Close enough
I'm a legendarily sound sleeper

The word masterbate should be keyword blacklisted if you ask me, I'd enforce that rule at the server level. — Spittin' IT 8 mins ago

user315433
Doesn't work that well when folks can't spell...

@Gerry he has a thing for language of that sort

user315433
@SmokeDetector Which was nuked some minutes before this post. :/

user315433
Was a typo actually, I knew why it was reported...

lol
@Gerry er... if its on SU, and I notice, I go nuke it the old fashioned way.
(With nuclear fire?)

user315433
5:54 AM
Understood. Which is why it's a bug that Smokey posted the report here...

user315433
I can live with the bug, though. Not the worst one we have to deal with.

6:10 AM
@JourneymanGeek great, now that is going to be stuck in my head all weekend
dun, dun dun dun, dun, dundundundun dun; dundudun; dundundun ugh, all weekend I tell you!
@JasonC - Try using malwarebytes. That is basically all I would trust for removal. As for protection... I don't think that there are any worthwhile, and am kind of afraid of using them in general. Windows 10 has fairly good protection at present out of the box.
signing off

@TravisJ I AM COMPLETELY NOT SORRY!
Also Knight Rider.... !

this makes no sense
meta.stackexchange.com/questions/295664/… spamseed question is open. Answer is nuked...

@S.L.Barth To clarify, you're 100% sure that this is just unsolicited advertising? I can't decide whether to tp or fp it.

OP also tried to edit that link in here: stackoverflow.com/review/suggested-edits/16043365 . And every post by them, on every SE site, links the same site.

user289971
Okay. That seems spammy then.

(I'm waiting to see if anyone will Approve that review BTW. Then I'll roll it back and report the robo-approver).

user289971
I see. I doubt it will, because I think the edit gets rejected and is out of the review queue if one more person rejects it, but there's a chance someone will vote to accept it.

7:10 AM
Well, if it gets rejected 3/3, that's only good. Reviewing quality really has improved over the last year or so.

user289971
I see. That's good. I've only been regularly active for the past year or so :P But I think the community handles things pretty well site-wide.

@S.L.Barth ooh sneaky

user289971
Setting death-traps for people :)

@HyperNeutrino I can attest that it mostly does

user289971
Gah, the ping sound scared me.

7:13 AM
then a few people would do anything for a kondike bar badges
lol. the ping here isn't bad
the main chat ping goes BONG

user289971
That's what I'm used to :P

There are robo-reviewers, but there are also reviewers who really do believe they're doing right.

I think SE employees use this and hoard all the good bongs #CONSPIRACY

... That moment when you're looking the the First Posts review queue and you see your bot/sock account's post to get rep :c

lol
I have a sock account I used at my last workplace (didn't trust the systems there with my mod login)...

user289971
7:18 AM
I see.

One day, I was waiting for a co-worker to finish up before leaving and answered a question. Short oneline answer. HNQed...

user289971
Hm. lol.

user289971
It feels weird not being able to do things like vote.

Its supposed to be a low rep sock. I think I hit 1.5k

user289971
Oh wow.

user289971
7:19 AM
lol

user289971
If my sock gets to 20 rep by tomorrow evening I'm not posting with it again. As long as it can chat, that's all I care about.

user289971
Anyway, I'm going to go to bed now so I don't die tomorrow morning. Cya! o/

@JasonC 1. That's cheating when there are more than two posts on the thread. 2. That's cheating.

11:47 AM
@S.L.Barth the spam flag seems to be dismissed.. previously -3, now -1 when I flagged it
all 3 of them...

@Elephant declined?

I don't know, maybe? I hadn't flagged it before

@Elephant oh

The question itself seems asking for off-site resource, so...

I've been getting lots of 503's from i.stack.imgur.com lately.

it's imgur problem, isn't

Yes

Someone needs to start a better image host with blackjack and hookers more reliability ;)

@M.A.R. what's cheating
23 messages moved to Chimney

@Elephant Thanks for letting me know. Their posts are at -2 now. Let's see what the mods over there do.
If that fails, I may have to make an account and use a custom flag.

What's the policy if we see a site reposting our questions from Stack Overflow?
Specifically, elteacher.info

311
Q: A site (or scraper) is copying content from Stack Exchange. What do I do?

PopsSince day one of Stack Overflow, all content posted on Stack Exchange sites by their users (i.e. you wonderful people) has been provided to the whole universe under the CC-BY-SA license. For my fellow non-lawyers, that license basically means: Anyone can use any Stack Exchange posts at any time...

Arrgh, research.gov ... I spent an hour filling out the numerous text boxes on the page for the annual report, and "Save/Continue" button throws up a 404 page. No trace of entered text, naturally.

user315433
New rule for .gov websites: no direct text entry, only copy-paste from Notepad++.

did anyone see this?
I must admit that downvoting a user 33 times shows real dedication. There should be a badge for that .... — rene 1 min ago
