Why this, Google? google.com/search?q=spinner

user315433
But no harm done... I'm far more likely to enter something like random number 5 to 23 which is certainly faster...

user315433
FR for Google: random floating point numbers, from uniform distribution, normal, and a few others.

user315433
FR2: do everything Wolfram Alpha does, directly from the search bar.

user315433
"random number 0 to 1" returns either 0 or 1...

Hello earthlings
I have a question

Shoot

I would like to ask on meta about this, but not sure if it has been already answered. (in other words, I'm afraid of downvotes :))
There are some questions that get asked under the tag "bulletproof"

[ SmokeDetector | MS ] Blacklisted website in answer: Canon MG4250 all in one doesn't find my linux pc by Ferris Delaney on superuser.com

And sometimes, those are answered in the chat, but the question remains unanswered, since it was resolved in the chat.
So, what should be done in this case? I can't delete it, since I did not ask it.
And I don't want it to stay open like that, it seems like the question has no answers

@samayo Do you mean comments or a chat room?

9:56 AM
Based on this question, chat room...

@Stijn In the chatroom

You can post an answer then, based on what you discussed in the chat.

You can always write an answer summarizing what the outcome was in the chatroom and mark the answer as Community Wiki. Make sure to give credit to those who deserve it.

Note that this should be an exception, it's not normal to have to discuss so many questions in chat.

Seems a sub-issue of answering in comments

Q: Question with no answers, but issue solved in the comments

SmandoliI often see posts in which no Answer has been offered as such, but the user's problem was solved using advice which appears in the comment section of the post. This is mildly upsetting, because there's nothing at the scrolling-list level to indicate the post has a successful resolution. So it...

10:02 AM
Yeah, I guess it makes sense to answer it and marking it as Community Wiki.
Thanks all

No prob~

..... some leaks from the bestbuy/amazon product pages claims that the Switch release of Skyrim has "pc mod support". Will be fun if that turns out to be true.
PS4 - no mod. Switch - mod support. Ps4 has 500gb hd... switch 32gb.

I think that's mostly a limitation of the PS4
not the game itself
I vaguely recall another game having similar trouble, wanting to make mods possible but not being able to

@Stijn I assume that the real problem was that the mods could very well be adult-rated. Sony didn't want to risk problem with parents. Very weird would be that Nintendo would support mods for the same exact reasons.

Nintento has an incentive to do so, Sony doesn't since the PS4 is so immensely popular

I am trying to sponsor a tag, but neither "talk to an expert" nor "buy now" links do anything. Repro? stackoverflowbusiness.com/advertise/solutions/tag-sponsorship

Someone may be wondering why the sales of sponsored tags are down....

bottom ones link to # but they don't have JS event handlers either
wanna post on Meta?
if not, I don't mind doing it

user315433
Please do, you know more about JS handlers.

user315433
Unrelated: is it acceptable to sponsor your competitor's tag by adding poop emoji to it?

Only one way to find out :)

@Stijn still seems strange. Both Skyrim and Oblivion can be modded to the point that a machine fully capable of running the vanilla version can have great difficulties in running the modded one. Just think of stuff like "Unique Landscape" for oblivion.... a 2gb+ world overhaul with hd textures....

user315433
Cool. Commence the debate over whether this should be on Meta.SO or on Meta.SE

user315433

I'm actually excited according to projections my vote will have a real impact this time

In chat, any mathjax (ex $\sqrt(2)$ ) shows as plaintext to me. Is that as intended, and/or is there a way I can make it display normally?

why it should be any different?

@Extrarius Yes, that's intended. It's too heavy to load in chat, so you can load it manually.
There are different ways of doing so. I use ChatJax
