so, I was looking at an "hacked" Microsoft account for a friend of mine.
history shows successful sign in from Usa, and considering he live in europe that is a little strange.
but nothing makes sense.
Password for the account was a >16 character long random string containing letters, number and special characters.
time of the access was about 5 minutes after the account was created. No chance for bruteforce, password would have to be stolen via some rootkit, keylogger or similar stuff.
Can't find anything bad on the system, which -to add to the injury- is a os X machine, which should reduce the number of possible infections. The machine was also pretty new (not that this really matters)
Best part: the IP the account activity page shows seems to be from Microsoft itself. Again, not that this really proves anything since ip spoofing is pretty easy, but you would at least hope Microsoft detects a client that is spoofing their own IPs.
been searching for a while about similar cases. Found some, but none provided real info.
If anyone has any idea that may be worth checking, I am open to suggestions.
The account was closed since the attack occurred, but I am more worried about the timing.

but you don't
So I'd go with scrambled eggs topped with grated gruyere and hot buttered toast.
Put a bit of buttermilk in the eggs before scrambling for extra fluffy and tangy results.

The butcher was out of hangar steak and skirt steak, but I did find out that apparently Peter Luger's Steakhouse makes bacon. So I got that. It's cut like 1/4" thick it's nuts.

If it is of approximate quality to the others, it will likely have far more upvotes, thus keeping its position by rank.

But if they're of approximate equality, who cares if one gets more votes because it's pinned? They're of approximate equality. A reader is helped. Unpinning does not help readers more or less.
It only helps the poster, to which I say, get a life. If all your rep rides on one answer that you wish was at the top, just contribute more, it will even out. Either that, or move on.

I mean, if an accepted answer is just wrong, that's not a problem either. Because it doesn't work. So somebody who uses it must continue their search. They will either scroll down, Google, or give up. Either way, at the end of the day what's supposed to happen does.
Not that unpinning would hurt anything, though.

@Shog9 The strength in Reddit is its sort algo, the weakness is its lack of moderation and quality. SO can maintain quality and have a good sort algo, they aren't mutually exclusive.

@bjb568 I wasn't putting down Reddit there (I can do that though; always good fun). Just saying they're different things with different needs. A reddit discussion that gets two replies is a crushing failure; a SO question that gets two answers is already getting pretty busy.

In most cases, hot and top should be pretty similar anyway. Hell, you could just use top but give newer votes a temporary boost.

•Improve formatting
•Correct spelling/grammar issues in the answer body

I'll usually approve suggested code edits if the comment also contains a proper explanation, and the edit is correct. If I can't tell I just skip it.

I'm above the median at least, for users >= 10k.
I need to answer more dumb questions. The kind of question we specifically don't like here but ironically end up with 500+ upvotes, like stackoverflow.com/questions/5311334.
One thing SO has taught me is reward is inversely proportional to effort. A good life lesson.
