Q: C# three bools one true at a time

amedeirosI have three booleans in c#. Each allows for a different menu to be open. However, only one can be true at any given time. So if i press a button and that button turns the corresponding boolean true to the corresponding menu, but I want a slick check that turns the others false if they are true b...

What’s the collective noun for celebrities?

user315433
I've long suspected that the definitions "a group of {animal name} is called a {noun}" are generated by picking a random noun from a dictionary.

user315433
And haven't seen much evidence to the contrary.

user315433
Following this method: a group of celebrities is called a tension.

user315433
Let's go and spread awareness of yet another collective noun.

5:17 AM
@zaq I agree. Centering only makes sense for titles.
@zaq I was wondering about this myself. In any case, the word I was groping for was probably "anonymous" rather than "aggregated". I have no idea what I was thinking.

@zaq People with different goals and see different aspects ... like a wolf questioning why a rabbit likes to eat grass. Except a wolf probably never questions why a rabbit likes to eat grass, because instinct of the wolf is telling it to hunt and eat the rabbit.

@ShadowWizard No, that's not great. More stars means we lose importance in the universe

more star is more irony ... that with more than 7 billion of us, none of us have ever lived on another planet

Q: Community promotion ads page not found 404

doedThere are only about five (5) ads available. Namely, Carlisle and cricket, Carlisle and Undocumented features, Cereda and the duck, Beaton's lowercase, and Hupfer's Arabic numerals. What happened with the rest? thanks.

Our Community promotion ads went through a small glitch period where some items weren't available.

I thought Jon's room would have the record of all meta posts, but his feeds are selective... Emacs, Parenting, Aviation, Sound Design, MathOverflow, Computer Science, Mechanics, Vi, Skeptics, elementary OS, Retrocomputing, and ...

user315433
... and "my metas" filter, which covers Hermeneutics, Christianity, Philosophy, Spanish, Ebooks, History, Islam, Astronomy, Space, Lego, Wordpress, Cryptography, DSP, Puzzling, Earth Science and Math Educators.

user315433
Hm, MathOverflow and Math.Ed are included, but not Mathematics.

user315433
I think I'm going to feed all meta posts into Normal Chatroom, so that I can find at least the snippets of deleted ones. (Unless someone is already doing this elsewhere...)

user315433
7:30 PM
But since this can be useful to others (to confirm that the meta post you've seen wasn't your imagination), maybe it should be something with a less obscure name...

Ha! I just identified a particular Vienna Instruments sound in a youtube video. I'm so pro.

When a feed posts to a room, does it bump the room to the top of active ones? I hope not.

@zaq I wouldn't bet on that ...

user315433
Jon's room has an active feed of metas, but I don't see it on top of active list, even when the Tavern is quiet.

user315433
I'm thinking of putting a "Log of Meta posts" room under chat.meta domain, which seems a logical place for it. Pro: snippets of all meta posts are logged and are searchable. Con: some spam would be logged too (but Meta.SE doesn't get nearly as much spam now as it did before The Notification Debacle). Potential con: if the room is bumped all the time, I won't do it.

@zaq hmm, you're right

user315433
7:51 PM
> Rooms are expected to be on the same topics as Meta Stack Exchange, as described in the Meta Stack Exchange faq.

user315433
For one thing, "faq" looks bad when in lowercase. For another, there is no FAQ, the link meta.stackexchange.com/faq gets redirected to /tour

@zaq it looks like active doesn't mean one person babbling in a room

user315433
One person is enough, but Feeds doesn't count as a person.

user315433
It doesn't count for room-freezing purposes, either.

@zaq I'm talking in one other room atm
it doesn't bump the room for me

user315433
7:55 PM
Ah, so if it's the same person who spoke last time, then it's not a new activity, just a continuation of their monologue.

@zaq do you want to have users post in that room? if not you might want to change it to gallery

user315433
I can't, not enough rep. Hopefully won't be a problem. Jon's room doesn't attract a lot of random talking people, despite an explicit invitation.

@zaq I'm happy to do that for you, if you make me RO for a moment

user315433
@rene Sure.

user315433
I also don't mind you staying as RO, may be useful in case I get my account deleted again.

I decided to look back at the Q&A changes (since Spring 2012, wasn't around before that), to see what worked really well (in my opinion).

July 2012: Review system --- June 2013: Closing reform --- July 2013: Flags to close not shown to mods --- April 2014: Meta.SO split from Meta.SE --- April 2014: NAAs processed by review --- May 2014: Dupehammer

user315433
--- March 2015: Self-closing as a dupe

user315433
That last one is kind of a stretch, but otherwise I'd have to admit there was no major progress since May 2014.

that last sentence is a bit sad :(
But maybe Q/A is done?
You can't improve it any further, time to move on and invent documentation and teams?
