12:03 AM
And now you're just normal again...

user202362
why only one happy hour a week? why not 12 happy hours a day?

user202362
I mean if you are happy during your sleep, then there's probably something not right about you ...

Did you mean if you aren't happy during your sleep?

user202362
how many times did you wake up in your dreams, smiling?

12:22 AM
I'm not sure... but how many times do you wake up from your dreams unhappy?

user202362
I am generally much happier during the day than when I wake up

12:39 AM
Well, that's because your sleep is ending…

user202362
nobody sleeps 24 hours a day even if they have the time

Or do they...

user202362
only for the dead

1:17 AM
@zaq SDTracker seems to be no longer existent...

2:15 AM
@bjb568 did they give you everything you wanted and more?
By the way, where's my hotness answer sort?

Triage can't really replace First Posts, can it? It doesn't deal with answers... so NAAs that don't qualify for LA queue would go through.

user315433
Could be solved by channeling answers by 1-rep users to Late Answers, whether or not they are actually late. That queue is mostly idle anyway.

4:18 AM
@zaq there's already considerable overlap in Late Answers and First Posts; would be simpler just to have a "new-ish user answers" queue (late answers + first answers) and a "new-ish user questions" queue (triage).

@Shog9 I can do that but the examples they used were over a large timeframe, so I'm not sure if a small data sample will be decisive on a pattern. But I'll give it a try.

@PatrickHofman Nice! First bug: missing body when I select from Posts table, e.g. random post I tried to see was stackoverflow.com/questions/40189011
Also, couple of feature requests: adding list of available tables (and their fields), and way to switch sites. Anyway, good work! :D

@ShadowWizard you might want to report the bugs here

8:19 AM
@ShadowWizard switch sites is available in the right top bar. Available tables are visible under DEFAULT.
Body missing is a missing parameter on the GET I guess.
And as rene asked please join me in the other chat room.

@rene oh, wasn't aware of that room, thanks!

yw

BTW anyone was affected by the big attack yesterday?
Looks like it didn't affect users/people from my country...
Many comments on the story in the local media sites were "But it works for me, what's the big deal??" lol

@ShadowWizard github was slow for me in the afternoon. But just slow, not unusable

@rene hmm... probably it affected mainly people from USA then
I've also read about Dyn a bit, wasn't able to understand if they are ISP, or something else?

I think they provide DNS services

11:40 AM
So they provide the internet for the ISP's?
oh, only the IP address to domain name mapping...

so if you have 100 servers and want to load balance across all those over one dns name
not exactly sure how that works
I'm not that much into network design

I suspect nobody really knows how all of this works.... :P
(except the hackers who breaks it ;))

I do expect that it should make it easier to handle a DDOS.
I guess you could redirect traffic upstream with such an setup
without having to call your ISP

I also wonder, can Stack Exchange be target of such attack? @balpha
(and if so, is it worth doing something in advance to be better protected)

If Fastly is attacked they sure can

11:47 AM
hmm...

You need to have something in place that will tell your ISP: block all traffic from [IP range] or even [continent]
and your ISP would need to have the same with their ISP
problem is how to detect quickly which IP addresses need to be blocked
I do recall that Nick tweeted about possible blocking all traffic originating from Azure due to high traffic volume of spam coming from it

@rene lol, @Derpy would love it, he just loves Azure.... ;)

:D

Oh, hah, I see the timestamps now.
