If there is a question on meta.site.SE of which similar question is available on MSE, then can I post one sentence answer to that question with linking to MSE Q/A post?
@rene @Bart ^^
Only if your single sentence answers the question without the link being present. Answers should always be self-contained and not a version of "look over there".
10:58
@Pandya I think I do what I have seen Bart and Sha doing as well, create the smallest possible excerpt that still answers the question, and then link to the original, for example: meta.stackoverflow.com/a/304075/578411
as an alternative use > quotation markup add a link and proper attribution.
@rene ok; I understood. Thanks.

the ability Microsoft has to avoid entire areas of real-world development when writing their documentation... is always mesmerizing.
It is not unusual for a dev to get that felling that he must be the first one ever thinking such a foolish idea while searching for some intricate workaround on Google.
Microsoft managed to give you that same felling when you google something that should be the basis for every real-work application.

To get chat privileges, all you need is 20 reputation points (rep), see http://stackoverflow.com/help/privileges/chat . To get 20 rep all you need is 10 approved edits on posts, or 2 upvotes on an answer, or 4 upvotes on a question. You start with 1 rep, and you can't get less than one rep, but getting off to a bad start with questions or answers can get you blocked from doing more of them.

Thus, the safest route to get started is to treat Stack Overflow like Wikipedia and fix grammar and spelling, del

@Derpy keep in mind that MS employs technical writers which are by nature not developers nor do they have a thorough understanding of the stuff they write the doc for. They do write the code examples, so you better think twice if you plan on a copy-paste job. I do recall a story where technical writer teams compete once a year in a programming contest. I guess that is only time where they actually are developers ...
@hichris123 By the way, Does user (not network) profile shows edge?
