@RebeccaChernoff: Quick question...

Can I get access to the Teacher's Lounge?

No. But if you go to your chat profile page and change your parent account to StackApps, it'll let you in automatically. q:

Oh... heh-heh :)
Thanks.

uh oh. I just found the word "StackOverflow" in my code somewhere it does not belong. The irony of this situation is it's actually appended to the name of a kind of Exception... as if I left the cursor there and tried to type StackOverflow into a browser window and revere realized it
Also, this is in the code for the release candidate
LOL

9:13 PM
@RebeccaChernoff - There? progress.
@JeffAtwood? Are you lurking?
I've got a userscript that loads a stylesheet from my domain which I'm working on now.
Is anyone here?
mmm... Shabbos food smells good. I should go help prepare.
Ping me if anyone wants to try my unfinished stylesheet.

@Moshe No. No one is here. You are all alone...

@Shog9 Ok
Wanna see the script?

go for it

it only works on the homepage
and it looks kinda ugly, but its mostly B&W

just impulse purchased a domain name for a project relating to the *download the internet question. I feel I did something either epic or stupid...*

9:25 PM
Thought, please
@Shog9 - lemmie know what you think
@ircmaxell you too.

a user script? hrm...
Interesting. But I think I like the default theme better

@ircmaxell - @JeffAtwood asked about this earlier.
hang on

I like the tab deliminitators the old way\. But the grayscale question icons look good

A: Can we please change the design to black-on-white?

Jeff AtwoodWe'll put together a user script at http://stackapps.com?tab=scripts for folks who really want the white layout -- in fact, we can probably put together a de-styler that converts any Stack Exchange design to a fairly minimalistic one for those that prefer it.

@ircmaxell what tab delimitators?

not tab, tag. Whoops

9:30 PM
This script only works on the homepage right now and pulls the style from my server.
ah tag
what about them? You liked the blue tags?

No, just styled tags

I am thinking about a way to make them minimalist

now it's just a text link.

hear hear

Some kind of border

9:31 PM
Hang on, what about the bounty-style background color?

doesn't have to be too fancy, just a smple 1px #333 border may work.
That may work too...

The idea is to keep it minimalist. I feel that borders are the antithesis of minimal - border are clutter.

@Moshe did you need the onload thing?

Hello

@Shog9 What?

9:32 PM
@Moshe: true, but a list of tags looks more confusing without them IMHO...

@ircmaxell Okay, hang on...

@Moshe your script is triggered from the window.onload event - was that necessary?

Sweet

@Shog9 How else would you do it?

@Moshe just... put the contents of the loaded() fn directly into the script

9:34 PM
ok
Let me try that.

try it; if it doesn't work, then go with your way, but I'd worry about a "flash of style" when using onload

@Shog9 great point.
@Shog9 - Hang on uploading two other files atm

also, you don't really need the test for linkElements.length, as it's also contained in the loop - if the length is <= 0, the loop body will never execute.

@Shog9 Interesting point. I was alerting earlier and wasnt sure if that was an issue.
Do I need to restart chrome when upgrading an extension?

night :)

9:37 PM
@Nyuszika7H - night
@Shog9 - It works without the onload, but still flashes. Removing the extra if statement....
@Shog9 - but removing that if makes it much quicker.
@ircmaxell - 1 sec...

kk

sorry had to reboot
uploading
@ircmaxell - try now.
@LoïcWolff - Hey
@LoïcWolff - Check out my userscript/stylesheet mosheberman.com/install

9:53 PM
I'd bump the padding just a touch on the tags, but looks nice otherwise

@ircmaxell Agreed.
Thank you.

np
Nothing crazy, just 1 or 2 px in each direction should do it...

btw, the userscript doesn't need to be updated, the stylesheet is changed on my end. If the path to the css file changes then we update the script

fair enough

just pointing it out, so everyone doesn't go ahead updating the script every few minutes

9:56 PM
lol

Ok, try it now.

Ohh, that looks nice in the question list
a bit bloby in the tag lists, but the questions look on the money

bows
I think the tags could be a bit lighter, no?

perhaps, but not too much. Don't want to get into an area where the white font starts to blend

o' course
ok, now?
I think it's too light, perhaps the questions tags and the tags on the side could be different.

9:59 PM
hrm, posibly too light
yeah, that's an option
Also, no highlighting of favorite tag questions? On purpose, or omission?

Right now on purpose

Ok, just checking

Not sure what to do with that. Borders and backgrounds are a bit much
It could be just me, but I have like ten favorites in a row.

bold?

Then what?
perhaps, but won't stand out.
Try the sidebar tags now.
Er, hang on. Distract yourself with the tags hover effect for a moment.

10:06 PM
Color looks better

refresh
ya, can't directly override the sidebar tags for now.
Shabbat is starting soon so I need to go in a few minutes. Should I set up a git repo for this?

Toss some vertical space on the sidebar, and looks nice
take it easy though

updated

You're getting somewhere fast

Thank you.
@ircmaxell - Thanks for the input. For now I gotta run. Have a good weekend, cya Saturday night.
@TylerChacha - please pin this:
SO homepage in B&W mosheberman.com/install.html
@ircmaxell feel free to star

10:13 PM
No prob, good night!

@ircmaxell nite

> Don't, ever, use local machine paths in a web application. Just don't, it's evil, and your descendants will be cursed for 7 generations. (from this answer)

nice
Alright, I'm off

10:50 PM
Who did that?

@mootinator Who did what?

Nothing. Didn't see the 'happy hour' notification.

Ah. By the way:
6 hours ago, by Sankar Ganesh
@drachenstern where is @Monittor
Not sure why he needed you.

Monittor eh?
@SankarGanesh I'm here.

@DanGrossman Are you sure? If you unregister, you will no longer be eligible to receive members-only discounts on drinks and notifications about special events in The Tavern!

You're in for a big disappointment, @Dan.
HAPPY HOUR IS A GO. UPVOTE RING ACTIVATE.

We may include free points for this (again, points have no <del>cash</del> MSO reputation value). You cannot opt out of these e-mails. Have a nice day!

11:15 PM
...wow, am I actually done with the list of tasks on my to-do list for today?
Oh. No, I'm not. Damn

Hello

Hi @TylerChacha.

Hola
Go go gadget drunken stupor!
Yay I just learned two painful/inane details about SQL server.

11:37 PM
Darn Chrome. Just locked up my computer again.
Friday night. Watching concurrent traffic on W3Counter drop like crazy.

OK. I give up and hereby call this week awful. Now, to fix the status script! XD

11:52 PM
boo, no tracking number for my Xoom yet... Dunno if I'm going to get one. Sigh

Status Script v0.1a3 -- Now with a 1000ms loop instead of 0.5ms loop!
It still watches the JSOn feed so it only works for one open chat tab :-(
I will be working on fixing that next
