@Pandya good question, besides the trilogy sites there are bunch of sites that have been "imported" from existing forums (e.g. MathOverflow, and I think Music as well, and maybe more) so go ahead and post a question. Couldn't find such a question in quick search, though I might have missed it.

Q: What are the stack exchange sites that are non-proposed i.e not established through Area51?

PandyaRecently I've found some sites that are a part of Stack Exchange Network and non-proposed. In other words, I'm talking about sites that are not established through Area51 like SU. So, Which are such sites that are part of SE and not proposed aka not established through Area51?

@ShadowWizard I've just posted:

@Pandya I believe there is a dupe out there for that
searching ...

@rene good (welcome to find and vote to close then)

@Pandya any search with Area 51 give 1000 hits, at least ...

Btw, you can always verify against area51.stackexchange.com/?tab=launched

this might take a while

@Oded In addition to the list you've provided, I can't find some site like StackApps on Area-51

lol - i have a comparatively significant amount of answers at neutral

user335633
by the way @Bart what is an 'intersection test'?

@Pandya stackapps is special, much like Area 51.

@Tropiks related to collision detection. Intersections between spheres and general meshes. Spheres and boxes. Rays and meshes. Etc. etc.

@Pandya That's because it hasn't always been call - Oh, Bart's already answered. :-/

@Bart oh! yes difference in name in actual site and Area51 I see; thanks for pointing out

@Pandya They changed it somewhere in the beta. That's why it's still gaming.stackexchange

@wizzwizz4 yes I see....
@wizzwizz4 I think "Web Applications is the first one in Area 51 from that list" is useful from meta.stackexchange.com/questions/284184/…

@Pandya I assume that is metaphorical, and you are not telling me that you literally see (i.e. vision).
@Pandya Thanks.

@Pandya nice, and glad to see you got excellent answer from @Oded. :)

@ShadowWizard Same here... Stack Apps is one, but I assume @Oded treated it differently because it's not like other sites on the network.

@ShadowWizard Yes but I think @Oded should add some note for MSE and StackApps

hello @ShadowWizard!

@wizzwizz4 yup, it's more like MSE which also didn't go through Area 51

@Pandya MSE is a meta site, although technically a site.

@wizzwizz4 And the question is also technical I think!

If this message appears on the starboard, I will be cross.

@Pandya maybe, it's up to him. Worst case, someone can post another answer about those special cases.
@Tropiks oh, hello!
@wizzwizz4 it's the meta of all metas... but still not ordinary Q&A site of Stack Exchange.

@ShadowWizard It's the only site on the network that is its own meta.

@Pandya That edit doesn't improve the answer. It's best added as a comment below.
It's a bit invasive editing other people's answers, unless you're fixing spelling, grammar or content errors. Adding too much extra information makes it into your answer, not theirs.

when an old question gets deleted, people who posted answers don't lose their rep.
that is not true when an answer gets deleted/converted to comment/etc, right? the OP still loses all the rep no matter how old?
(i am trying to formulate my opinion on what to do with 'borderline' old answers that were acceptable and popular when they were posted, but probably wouldn't pass muster today)

6:58 PM
@KutuluMike wrong. The criteria is 60 days old (or 90? I always forget) and having score of 3 or more. No matter if question or answer, and no matter how it was deleted.
Interesting side effect is that reputation from bounties is preserved in such cases, while the bounties themselves might have been refunded in case the question was deleted.

2 days ago, by hichris123
Some is the keyword there. :P I appreciate that but it seems like a loss to have just Tunaki look when it was really a group effort to close the questions...
I know it's hard to control everyone looking at questions, but it's terrible that 5 close voters + 3 delete voters all could be so wrong on site policy.

Yep, don't worry we seem to have consensus that this was the last burnination under our control.We obviously aren't good enough for that.

I wouldn't go far as to say that, but I think it's just too uncontrollable of a beast to have a room of people dedicated to closing questions look at a bunch of questions at once and decide whether they should be closed.

8:03 PM
You have that uncontrollable beast already: everyone with flag and vote privileges. What the room adds is that they can be held accountable as a group. Something you would never manage with meta, or review bans or comments to individual users

It seems better to not have a group. That way, you don't have a bunch of people thinking the same way, you don't have [cv-pls]s on decent posts, etc. Group accountability equals "You all are terrible"... which isn't true, only some people are making mistakes.
That's not to say that it's bad... it's just a more interesting beast...

Someone write that meta post @hichris123 I'm pretty sure you're not alone in that and I'm happy to have a single close vote event per week on a few tags.

@rene of witches?

@rene And that's the other thing. There's a room of 20 people who are probably going to disagree with a post like that or anything disagreeing with the room. So, who would want to go up against that?

if the irritations are only expressed in other chatrooms, in mod flags, and angry mails to teams@stackexchange.com there is not much to go on as well. And, yes we have attracked the care-takers, who are not known for being sensitive to feedback of the kind you're doing it all wrong.

8:19 PM
Quite true buuut... the pain of drama is probably more than most people want to bear.

If you think it is better that the room is shutdown, start building your case now with some metaposts and evidence. You'll take the hit, sure. But more users will join in because after all we do things that have impact and that hurts now and then. In the end meta will find enough users that rather see us stop.

I don't think the room needs to be shut down. Something needs to change, but probably not that drastic.

And with enough momentum on meta it is much easier for the mod team or CM's to have it stopped.
@hichris123 define something
If you ask our regulars what they want to change that are other things then you want
They want more powerz
You seem to want better reviews

@rene If I knew I'd tell you. :P
Yeah, something along those lines. More responsible reviewing.

But except some basic monitoring and 21 rulez what else is left?

8:26 PM
But... how do you convince people that their application of the site guidelines is wrong? That what they've been doing for months has been harmful to the site?
@rene I wish I knew.

I can't beat common sense into them

At first I thought this was related. :P

just a general query, if I have 2 x 0-score (1 accepted) answers, 1 x +1 answer (accepted) and 1 x +2 answer (accepted) - but have a 0 and -1 score deleted, would I be at risk of an answer ban? or am I overthinking things (again)

You probably wouldn't be at risk of a ban.
Also, you should see a warning even before you would be answer banned: meta.stackexchange.com/a/231118/237685.
