Oneboxing has its drawbacks but at least indicates the content for those who prefer to look before leaping....

I don't really link much from YouTube that isn't a music video
It'd be a useful browser extension to be able to right click a link and look up the page title without opening it

user315433
I use a little bookmarklet for generating []() links that grabs either the selected text on the page or its <h1> element (and also shortens the link when it's used on an SE post)...

Ah, I was wondering where that one was located, I'd been meaning to ask you about it for a while

user315433
They are all on a page called stackmarklets

@Quill "intensely contemplating things that exist only in one's imagination" is probably not that.

Perhaps. I suppose philosophy and mathematics aren't always about making a direct contribution to something, sure, they can be translated into real world things, but sometimes it's just about contributing to the knowledge banks of those who can / will
Domino effects are still useful

This is fortune-teller and palm-reader levels of sheer nonsense.

Meh
considering the american political spectrum, I'd be highly surprised if it wasn't the case that both candidates in any given election have people killed that get dangerous to them

Meh, I'll survive
Fun thing is, most of my comments and the answer there I don't really agree with 100%. It was fun to write an opposing opinion at the time.

11:36 AM
Oh ... well ... eeeehhh .... I wrote that based on your comments ... and now you tell me they are a lie ....

Haha, nah, I still find some sense in it, but not as strongly as I've worded some of the content in the other question.

Is it ok to cross post something that could require a technical answer from a site-specific meta that hasn't been answered?
No one seems to know what happened here

Meh, if you've asked it on Meta.Gaming, then there's not really any reason to ask it elsewhere
It's not like your edit is super-duper-earth-stopping urgent

Meta.SE attracts people who actually know how stack exchange works, though.
And no, but that doesn't really matter
Guess I'll just leave it to rot ¯_(ツ)_/¯

My guess is that the author hit the wrong button:
As far as I recall, if you Reject and Edit, the box gets wiped clean, precluding that possibility. I'm not too sure how the edits happened but I highly doubt that it was done with negative intent -- much more likely that some aspect of the UI isn't intuitive enough in this regard, particularly since two instances happened in such a short time, both with new users. I understand you're frustrated, but please try to assume good faith! — Schism Aug 3 at 0:18
They hit "Reject and Edit" and then probably clicked done

Did you read the comment?
"precluding that possibility" <-- they didn't hit reject and edit
If they hit reject and edit then it would have shown here

Yeah.
Basically the author made an identical edit to yours (meaning they copied it). Hitting Reject and Edit does wipe the text, and approval would approve the queue. The question is how they managed to non-manually copy the edit reason

1:32 PM
The only idea I can think of is they saw the suggested edit, copied the content and the suggested summary, edited their own post which then auto-rejected mine. But it happened to someone else by another user within a day.. which is why I think it's a technical thing no one on Gaming.SE would know

The Devs and CMs read per site metas, so they might see it later
it's still pretty early in the US

Yeah

user315433
1:47 PM
@Quill Reject and Edit leaves a different reason for rejection than "This edit conflicted with a subsequent edit."

user315433
Could be some sort of race condition where the OP's action on the proposed edit was taken as an independent edit instead of approval.

user315433
I.e., a bug

user315433
@Insane If you think it's technical, tag the post as [bug] so that it will be seen by employees looking for bugs to fix.

Q: Is stack overflow on-topic for Code Review?

200_successWe routinely allow questions where the code works correctly for small inputs but fails to scale to larger inputs. The time-limit-exceeded and memory-optimization tags are often applied to such questions. What if the problem is that the stack sometimes overflows? That seems to be the premise of t...
