@Oded Well in my company they're doing that fairly ridigly. Everyone starts at or near minimum wage, everyone works from 8:00 to 16:30 on weekdays, every showing up late means 1h unpaid extra work, 3x and you get written up, get written up twice and you're fired usually. Also, everyone gets state mandated minimum PTO and state mandated minimum Sick leave
@Magisch been there. Sometimes you need to go through a place like that in order to get the experience the better places look for. Think of it as a stepping stone.

@Magisch not sure what is the meaning of apprenticeship in your place, in my country we have tons of "temporary employees", with no rights whatsoever, low salary, and usually fired automatically after maximum one year.
@Magisch here it's 12 vacation days per year, and sick days are paid only when you're sick for at least two full days, even then only 50% of the salary. Sad joke.
Sounds like a place that doesn't value their employees, meaning their employees don't have any kind of incentive to stay/preform which in turn reinforces the original opinion.
@Oded the driving motivation here is, quote (translated): "We need people to do a specific job which is not that difficult. We also need to employ them at the least possible cost per job done. So thats all you get. If someone will do it for less then you, then you're gone as soon as its legal"
The main business of the company is programming and testing semiconductors
Which means mostly machine work
Most of the coding for the automation on that is done in house, by our 4 person IT team
Mostly strung together from people who picked up coding on the fly or learned some form of electrician, because almost no graduated developer will work for slightly above minimum wage
and management is sure as hell not paying for training on anything

I have a bunch of apps on the market, sometimes I think to myself: what if I die tomorrow since I like high risk activities so much, my parents are going to inherit my 2 properties on one piece of land and a bunch of apps, ROFL. Yes, apps still got downloads despite the fact that I have not maintained them for ages ...
@hichris123 I wouldn't know... I've not been in here in a long time... and when I had been in here it seemed like a bunch of smoke detector posts and not much else. :D
@randal'thor in general when you abbreviate a word you don't just randomly tack on the last letter on the longer word for no good reason.. except 'maths'. it's an anomoly.
So I have a question about titles: I was under the impression that the word "question" was banned from titles. Is that true, and is it just on SO? I also spend a lot of time on Biology, and we've had a bunch of questions recently with titles like "Question about genetics" and such.
@randal'thor I'd say that ellipses were cool except that I'm too lazy to actually use the ellipsis symbol... so they're just three periods. I need Nathan Tuggy's shortcut tool.
@KutuluMike Ah. Not that I'm even sure that such an add-on exists.
