@SantaClaus Yup
I'm planning to apply, but I'm not terribly confident because I haven't done much flashy stuff in the last year or so
The OpenMRS GCI project ticks the 'humanitarian' box, though, so I might have a chance

@Undo You could have worked on DevDoodlw. DevDoodle's flashy. Totes flashy.

@bjb568 is... it an iOS app now?
SmokeDetector and metasmoke are plenty flashy, but they're not exactly Apple tech

@Undo If you make it one ;)
@Undo WWDC has web/Safari stuff, so it isn't nothing.

3:23 AM
@bjb568 I might have to cheat a little bit and submit multiple projects. I have far more breadth than depth

Oh, man, I go deep.

Most people don't look at the OpenMRS thing and go "wow", and most people don't look at Smokey and go "wow" (I do, but that's because I get what it does). The two together, with a bunch of other projects? Might work better

Well, they'll be wowing if they know that bjb, the kewlest kat with sunglasses, endorses you!

I'll be sure to mention that :P

Q: Feeds are real, not fiction! (aka Feeds system account got wrong avatar)

Shadow WizardOur beloved Feeds chat account suddenly got a new avatar: The source is: http://cdn.sstatic.net/Sites/scifi/img/icon-48.png?v=73abb3 and happens to be the icon for Science Fiction & Fantasy SE site. While bit funny and refreshing, can we please have the good old RSS icon back?

8:17 AM
@ShadowWizard Really tempted to downvote. The sci-fi icon is nicer
actually, can we have a pony icon instead?

@Derpy lol, feel free to do that - really... that's what MSE downvotes are for. :)
@Derpy feel free to post as answer, let's see what happens.... ;D

@ShadowWizard trolling people?

@hichris123 true, and sad. Maybe @Bart can be Room Owner? He's eternally pingable, even when he was away... :)
@Derpy nope. Expressing one's opinion. :)

no, you have one Account (network-level), you can have many Users (site-level)
@ShadowWizard Logical fallacy, an account can have a user on 10 sites, 2 million isn't a important number there.

@NickCraver not really, I never see messages about bounties in there, for example.
Only comments, answers, and chat notifications.

oh right mobile API - it's one inbox, but that API presents a subset of it

@NickCraver so that mega notification of yours is part of the subset?

since it wouldn't know what to do with other types of messages which have no native equivalent, like reviews
would have to check - it's generic so possibly not...it's only been used once ever before, when MyOpenID was compromised

@NickCraver cheers, if you want me to submit a bug report/feature request in case it's not part of the mobile API let me know. :)

other things like review aren't really asking for inbox support, it's asking "can you implement the review queues in mobile...and make the inbox links work", so just keep in mind the bar there on native

Very interesting. Excluding Russian sites, the least SO-overlapping are Civicrm, Judaism, Mathoverflow, Hermeneutics, and Math.

user315433
Another way to put it: there are only 6 sites where fewer than half users are from SO. Two Russian ones, and the first four above.

user315433
On the other hand, a lot of this is "SO user saw a HNQ and clicked Join to upvote"

9:26 PM
That ^ would be interesting to know

user315433
@rene I consider a user "real" if they have 200 rep on the site. This is when they begin to be tracked in rep leagues. Modified your query with this condition, with an interesting result: the percentages went up, often to near 100%. Rus, MathOverflow, and Sound are the only sites with < 50% SO overlap by this measure. All three are imports.

Hmm, interesting. Basically the SE network consists of SO users that when bored join and participate on other SE network sites.
