Q: Who are the winners in the #SOreadytohelp t-shirt drawing?

abby hairboatStack Overflow recently surpassed 10 million questions, and we're giving away a bunch of t-shirts to celebrate: Because it's coming up, here's some brief info about the t-shirt contest: Twitter applicants must re-enter to be considered for each week's drawing. 1 week = 00:00:01 UTC Thursday ...

50 men and 50 women's tee ... woah equal opportunity is not equal

yeah, it should be 100 total pool…

Depending on where you live, 50:50 is pretty accurate:
In anthropology and demography, the human sex ratio is the ratio of males to females in a population. Like most sexual species, the sex ratio in humans is approximately 1:1. The sex ratio at birth is commonly thought to be 107 boys to 100 girls, although this value is subject to debate in the scientific community. The sex ratio for the entire world population is 101 males to 100 females. Depending upon which definition is used, between 0.1% and 1.7% of live births are intersex. Gender imbalance may arise as a consequence of various factors including natural factors, exposure to pesticides a...

curious... I add a dot after the TDL and the browser interprets the domain but doesn't share its cookies

@JonEricson … not in the SO populace

@bjb568 True. At best we are looking at more like a 92:8 ratio, which is beyond pathetic. There are old-boys clubs with more women.

@JonEricson Tech fields are still mostly male. Beyond that, the meta sites have gazillions of posts about how harsh and punishing SE sites can be to newbies. That may deter more females than males, percentage-wise.

@JonEricson I don't think that can be taken as a statistical significance due how sample was taken
@AwesomePoodles actually males are more sensible to being at disadvantages

1:45 AM
@Braiam humph, selection bias is possible

Ain't gonna touch that. ;)

@Braiam Also true: "Our internal stats suggest the imbalance isn't quite as severe as the survey results would make it seem." Even so, it's not great.

But statements like this: "there's no doubt everyone who codes needs to be more proactive welcoming women into the field" are sexist! I'm a male and no one "welcomed" me. Far from it.
Part of the problem is the idea that coddling is needed to equalize result rather than opportunity.

Hmm, wonder where this discussion is going.... hint: nowhere fast.

I actually wouldn't blame males for being unwelcoming... humans tend to stay within their peers/similar
so, if it's perceived that a sector is gender dominated, the opposite gender isn't as willing to go there (prime example: modeling)

I have no idea why it doesn't return something for that sentence without quotes, so I'll launch the debugger.

@ProgramFOX, I think the longer sentence broke it. It's over 200 chars... Shorter test tripped the filter... Surrounding quotes should not break the test either.

I don't see why the longer sentence would have broken it. The thing is, it just returns nothing, while it's always supposed to return something.

Do we have a lexicographically ordered list of all sites (so not stackexchange.com/sites#, because that's not ordered lexicographically) ?

logan2I am Logan and having the post commenting problem for a while so please can any one can help me . As I want to post any reply. If any one want to know more about full form and other directory data can visit to Full form directory

This guy is a cross-site spammer and all the other sites get these guys in minutes. But Smokey doesn't auto report on Stack Apps -- maybe due to that two-post activity thing???

Does anybody know how much messages you can move at once from one chatroom to another?

Didn't even know you could move messages...

@rene enough. Why?

I'm trying to clean-up the SOCVR room but I might want to move over 2000 posts or so.
If there is a reasonable limit I rather stop at that number instead of continuing fetching
@hichris123 If you say enough I suspect you tried ;) .... so what was the number?

6:07 PM
@rene I didn't... but I mean enough = a reasonable number. I've seen a couple hundred done for sure.

OK, I'll limit the batch size then, tnx

@Bart It looks gone already to me?

That was fast

Is/was that a valid comment link?

6:13 PM
Yup
With a full Godwin

and my FF is not scrolling to all of the comment links i tried?

Yeah, it was also flagged from the SOCVR room.

Ah, I see that that is the comment+date link. Different from the anchors I've been using and handy. :)
