> On my previous job, our software went into maintenance mode, which meant no new features. We certainly aren't ready to do that with Stack Exchange, but I do think that would be a rational decision.
Response to your response: 1. Should be tagged status-deferred. 2. Should be tagged status-review, because we know it is from my other question about this. 3. status-review or status-deferred both an improvement over now. 4. Fine, status-declined it. 5. Thank you for status-declined. I mean, why not put those responses in those questions? Why put them HERE where they won't be seen? — durron597 6 mins ago

@durron597 Seriously, I had better things to do with my afternoon.

Meh, meta isn't ideal for bug tracking

@durron597 I'm clearly not understanding your question. It seems the problem is that minor features and bugs are addressed late? There are 79 questions a day on all metas. Often the discussions and support are more pressing than feature requests and bugs. It's a bit overwhelming sometimes.

Question bans, fun. Or is that the monthly limit?

To clarify: Those tags and the one to two sentences you wrote here are all that we're asking for.durron597 49 mins ago
> This is about fixing easy bugs faster / without missing any, and about increasing communication on the more difficult things.

user202362
there is a monthly limit?

12:59 AM
@chmod711telkitty You can lift the ban by answering questions and gaining rep. It's about the ratio.

user202362
I know

@chmod711telkitty I know one guy who it was permanent, lasted over a year
But just two upvotes on answers removed it.

@chmod711telkitty I think it's like 50 questions (I know, outrageously high and why did I consider it)

user259867
The statement quoted by chmod is for the ban based on quality, not for rate-limiting.

user259867
The limit of 50 q in any 30 days period is enabled on selected sites; not on all.

@JonEricson Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that what we're dealing with here is just a simple "perfect being the enemy of the good" situation
For example, take question 3 on your list:
289
Q: Reject an already-approved suggested edit when rolling it back

BoltClock's a UnicornI just had to roll back about a dozen incorrect suggested edits that were approved, because all they did was litter backticks all over random words and phrases and calling it improved formatting. This is just one of the less exciting cleanup tasks I've taken it upon myself to do, as these edits ...

We don't need a perfect response, which could take days or weeks of study to do the right thing
We just need any response.
@JonEricson Your two sentences and a tag is all that we really ask for, and obviously the more detailed review when we get to it in the priority list.

@rene Well.. here's one who sort-of stopped advertising links. Spammer on Security.SE who didn't add "http://" before the link.
So it wasn't clickable. It ended up in their Sec.SE's First Posts queue so it won't last long.

@AwalGarg There's a default Meta.SE post. Give me a moment.

Q: A site (or scraper) is copying content from Stack Exchange. What do I do?

PopsSince day one of Stack Overflow, all content posted on Stack Exchange sites by their users (i.e. you wonderful people) has been provided to the whole universe under the CC-BY-SA license. For my fellow non-lawyers, that license basically means: Anyone can use any Stack Exchange posts at any time...

Used to be we added them to the answers there... need to re-read the post, seems it was edited recently (Aug 3).

alright. there is also solvedstack.com/questions/how-does-the-this-keyword-work which only links back to Stack Overflow in the form of links to user profiles which aren't obvious at all.

No attribution means they're violating the CC-SA license. Use the "Contact us" link on SO or Meta.SE.
That's what it says in the Meta post I linked above.

Hmm, I wonder what was wrong with this.
Seems legit.

Maybe I shouldn't ask questions and report bugs on A52
Wait... Area51
NOT 52!!!1!!1!

Umm wat
 $('#' + document.getElementsByName('post-text')[0].id);
How over complex is that

That's pointless, too. IDs are unique so document.getElementsByName('post-text')[0] should work perfectly fine.

Well I want the jQuery stuff
Dunno why but sometimes its .attr() and sometimes its .getAttribute()
Its weird

1:51 PM
.attr() is jQuery, .getAttribute() is pure JS.

Sometimes its .append() and sometimes its .appendChild()

The former has to be invoked on a jQuery object, the latter on a JS DOM Object.

Hmmm..
Reduces code
 $(document.getElementsByName('post-text'));
Boom

So, document.getElementsByName('post-text')[0].getAttribute works when you want to get the attribute of that one element.

jQuery is faster

1:53 PM
Ehh... how do you know that? I guess it'd be slow to copy all the stuff inside the jQuery object.

Because I type less code

Oh, faster as in typing.
